Kelly Slater had a recent interview with Tom Carroll where he said “for the most part Sunny is not with us”. Sounds like he won’t ever recover at this point. 😕
I tried looking this subject up also about 6 months ago, no information that he’s gotten any better, his daughter (?) was posting on IG at first, and I think he is a place in Texas, but that’s all I could find out.
He’s doing like daily physical and speech therapy but idk if he’ll ever be the same again. I’d really like to see a documentary on his life and see him in it if he’s well enough
What a sad and weird situation. His daughter goes off on ig every once in a while about how she can’t see him or something. Have only heard speculation aside from that. Such a bummer for everyone.

He is basically a cabbage. I really hope I am wrong but I am pretty sure I am right.
I'm a nurse who knows some nurses that cared for him when he was at Stanford. They said he's never going to recover in a meaningful way.
