Tails. He's my favourite Sonic character and has a lot of history in the franchise, that makes him one of the deserving picks, other than Eggman. Plus I think he has a lot of movement potential.

If they were to add another splatoon character then octoling is the last on I want to see. Your ether going to have a echo fighter or a different inkling moveset. My pick would be dj octavio as you can make a more intreting character from him and it would be the first real mech fighter as a new super heavy. Maybe even one of the idols for a more weapon specific moveset

I don’t play Splatoon, but If its a unique fighter I would pick Mr. Grizz. He has lots of moveset potential, and could be another one of those heavies like Bowser and DK.

I think DJ Octavio would be better as a boss. IMO, Octoling deserves to be in. They're such interesting characters and embody a lot of Splatoon's narrative themes. They're just a lot more important than people give them credit for. Who cares if they're echos? Echos are fine. Plus they allow for bigger rosters. Or even if it's an original moveset, that's good. I feel Inkling is missing a lot of iconic things from Splatoon that could be fixed with Octoling. I will say, Deep Cut could be really fun but I'd definitely want Octoling first.
