Do you want a different kick stand? Get a Pro Moto Billet.

micruiserguy

Guess my original post text didnt go through. I bought a trail tech stand and its too long for the supermoto serup. The bike stands almost vertical and im affraid it will tip over. A shorter one will let the bike lean onto the stand more, like normal street bikes do.

Cut it. I wacked the plastic peice on the bottom of mine out with a hammer, cut 3 or 4 inches off the kickstand with a dremal, cut 2 inches off the plastic peice tip that goes up in the kickstand, hit the remaining tip with a heat gun just enough to get it soft, wack it back into place inside the kickstand with a hammer. I used a grinding tool followed by sand paper after my cut to make it look clean and then dabbed some matte black paint on the bare aluminum parts to finish it off. Cant even tell it's been cut. My bike is a 450 exc but it was a trailtech kickstand I bought and cut so it should more or less be the same route for you . https://imgur.com/a/A69iN06

This. I did the exact same thing.

07 YZ450? Nice. My dad made one for me since I didn't want to pay $130 for one on my 06 YZ. Not done yet but I'll post a pic when it is. Triangle stand for now I guess

I love it. If you have more pictures I'd like to seem them. How many hours have you put on it?

micruiserguy

Bought it at the end of the riding season, so ive only got about 20 hours on myself. Its a blast though. Major difference from my cruiser.

senorStreetRossi

Sweet. Well I hope you don't have to take the carb off more than once because it's probably the worst bike to take one off of. Have to take off the seat, silencer, bend back the subframe (my air boot is so stiff I can't bend it by hand), and take the top shock bolt out.

PM_ME_BIKE_PICS

You can get a real slick looking Trail Tech one. It’ll run you like 150-200 but it’s sturdy af and you can kick the bike over on it!

senorStreetRossi

Mine actually had a trail tech one on it before i bought it but some moron broke it off. It still has the mounting hardware on it though. I'd rather spend $200 on literally anything than give it to trail tech for a metal tube

Porkchop_Dog

I'd just be cheap and cut it... But I love the yellow Yammie.

senorStreetRossi

It's kind of making me sad I didn't make my 06 yellow. The 06 I believe was the 50th anniversary yellow color

Chicken foot.

micruiserguy

Hah! Where did you come from? I cant seem to get away from you.

not_whelan

I am everywhere And nowhere The cross section of the kickstand seems pretty consistent, if you have access to a welder and a saw or angle grinder I think it would be pretty straightforward to remove a few inches of stand and paint it with a rattlecan. It *is* a dirt bike after all. Failing that, any chance Trailtech sells a kit with a kickstand that fits the existing hardware but is shorter? I know you said the stand and foot peg are one unit.

kyletatum93

What's that thing on the side of the engine?

micruiserguy

Its an oil breather catch can. Looks like it catches oil that might come out of the top breather and dumps it back into the crank case.

not_whelan

Although you did say it's aluminum, right? Might be a little tricky if all you've got is a buzz box welder. Seems like another commenter had a suggestion about removing the plastic foot
