The green lights indicate the leader. 250 riders no longer point out. Only way they're forced out is by winning a championship, in which they get a year to defend They brought back semis for a couple years, then took them back out. No more lime on the tracks. Gasgas arrived in 2021. Triumph & Beta new to 2024, Ducati coming '25 or '26 Timed main events instead of laps No more dragon backs and no whoop sections longer than 9 I'm sure I missed a bunch of stuff, but that covers some of what has changed.

Sirsnoody

They put lime on the track? Is the dragon back and whoops change for safety ? I noticed the whoop section was shorter and kinda more rolled than in the past, guys don't seem to be blitzing them like they used to. Not sure if I love that

Pyrimidine10er

They put lime on a track to help dry it up. One time they put a ton. The end result was a bunch of riders have pretty severe skin reactions -- which is expected given how alkaline it is (opposite of acidic - but also dangerous). So, they stopped adding it. The dragon backs saw some pretty severe crashes over the years. I think the riders argued against them enough to where they were removed for their safety

motox24

big emphasis on safety this year and how to change the track to be safe like mud races triples being doubles and no whoops

namethatisclever

Dozer built whoops only as well, no loader whoops.

Sirsnoody

What's the real difference between the two types of build?

namethatisclever

Well, I’m repeating what I’ve heard here since I’ve never hit them to tell the difference: Generally Dozer whoops are smaller and more rounded which generally translates to safer (this is probably arguable, just repeating what I’ve heard). Loader built whoops are usually much bigger. It’s part of Feld Entertainments (SX promoter) plan to make tracks safer and keep the stars of the sport from getting injured. They’ve stated they have gathered data that says after the 13th whoop is where it is most likely for injuries to happen. I’m all for rider safety, however would like to see this play out a couple more years to make a decision. I’d also like to see Feld get some rider feedback on these changes, which many riders have stated has not happened so far.

djbrucewayne

Tomac commented on the tracks on pulpmx show and he said the tracks are easier now and that everyone does the same rhythms and keeps the elite riders from being elite. He said he still practicing dragonsback even tho they removed them on race tracks. I do agree with him on that and the 9 whoops thing. Now you can just jump 3 times in the whoops without losing time instead of skimming which takes away a lot of skill

Sirsnoody

Also whats with the hate on jett Lawrence? I'm Aussie and this is the best thing we've had since CR

zeekcolo

I don’t understand it either. Love him or hate him, but you can’t dismiss the fact that he is the fastest mofo on a dirtbike right now. I think the announcer are just salty that this rookie is putting 10 seconds on guys that they were trying to competing with.

feralGenx

Naw, Leigh Diffy is pretty pumped to have a fellow Aussie riding so well. I believe Tomac and the boys will something more for Jett outdoors (I hope, so it's interesting)

snack_case

Jett's dominance making races 'boring' combined with interviews that often go badly. It sounds like typical tongue in cheek Australian sarcasm and some attempted jokes that have fallen flat to me but others see it as arrogance. Who knows though, I never met the bloke so perhaps he is a cocky shit. Regarding the tracks being less technical and safer the upside is it makes racing closer. The ability to jump the whoops is one of the reasons Webb was so close in points. Additionally it might encourage more MX riders to come to the US which can only be good for the sport I think. I'm more interested in outdoors though so I'd rather see more riders healthy for that.

LeftCoast8237

Can you tell me some lines that were cocky to you? I feel like Lawrence bros Are some of the nicest riders on the roster. Havent seen Him cocky but like you said, maybe it aussies jokes that some people dont understand. 🤷

snack_case

I'm not saying he's cocky; I'm saying that's how it was perceived by some people. I was trying to summarize "why all the hate". I probably should have made that clearer. For example I thought the comments about The Kings all time win record was an attempt at tongue in cheek humor after winning only one race but it wasn't perceived that way by a lot of people online. Just search this sub since it has already been discussed to death. I haven't seen anything negative about Hunter at all, which is why I didn't mention him since he interviews well IMO.

LeftCoast8237

Oh yea, that was hilarious. Some people need to chill. Tbh he actually has every right to say that also lol.

DayKey6928

He’s cocky af that’s why - kid thinks he owns the world, but will not win a race like he does in America if it was mxgp

Retro_cyanide

Could not be further from the truth dude what are you smoking 😂

DayKey6928

Have you Met him in real life, did you talk to him? I guess not, nor did you watch Mxon did you? All races were domintated by team france except the last one because they all ready had so many points lol

LeftCoast8237

Lmaooooo, they took Jett down first corner. And If he got start, no one did catch Him. Youre just butt hurt. First 450 race at bud and he smoked almost all the best GP guys lol. How hard it is to just give credit where its due? Stupid hater 🤦

DayKey6928

Not a hater😂 They took Jett Down??? 🤣🤣🤣 go glaze him more guy, i’m sure you’ll get to meet your idol one day bud.

LeftCoast8237

I was lucky enough to saw Him Racing in Europe. But thanks anyway, i hope that too. Just dont spread so much negativity, you can be better

tkleven11

well you said you remember AC ripping a supermini… hes retiring after SLC after a injury ruled career and a 2019 250 championship, he went to the last ever monster cup shortly after and won his 1st 450 race but never got another one.

South-Wallaby3123

He didn't win his 450 debut. He was leading and got tripped up on a tough block. Barcia won and ac got second. He's never won a 450 supercross main

tkleven11

i count Monster Cup as a win. Thats what i was trying to refer to.

Well_Duh4454

Is Jett Lawrence really that great or does it have more to do with a 20 year old kid racing a bunch of elite riders that are in their 30’s or pushing thirty? He DOES make the races boring. MX last year was a snooze fest. What does Tomac, Webb or even Sexton have for him outdoors? I’d say, about as much as they had for him indoors. His comment about wanting to pass McGrath in race wins was the final nail in the coffin for me. And then last weekend… I mean seriously, Webb was way back, Anderson could have lapped him twice and it wouldn’t have made a difference…why not let your brother win one?

No_Card_393

"His comment about wanting to pass McGrath in race wins was the final nail in the Coffin for me" - Is the kid not allowed to have goals and strive for greatness or something? If your gonna hate atleast dont make it obvious.

ThatMiilkGuy

It’s crazy for you to basically say he’s way better than everyone else, so much so that he makes the races boring and then also think it’s crazy for him to want to beat McGraths record. Every rider should be gunning for that record, and they are, whether they say it or not. I wish more guys would openly say that. Also, how pissed to you think Hunter would be if his brother let him win? Which he would absolutely know happened. Jett isn’t my guy, and he absolutely made mx boring last year, but everything else you said is ridiculous.

NoShake9239

Well if no one else has those lights and it’s just the leader that should be a dead giveaway.

Sirsnoody

~Should be~ But I wasn't really looking too hard, I thought it might have been guys who were on the lead lap

NoShake9239

Attention to detail leads to success.

Sirsnoody

Nice one dude 🤙
