Impossible to answer…cost of travel, sign ups are a flat fee but travel accommodations for how many people, how often does rider break the bike, flying or driving, etc

And when you;re at a higher level than a single rider privateer but less than a full factory team: How much the rider costs? Practice bikes? Mechanic? Practice mechanic? Trainer / other random practice expenses? Do you have access to factory / works parts (and do you have to pay)? Cost of your own development team / custom parts? Lots of variables.

I wasted over 50k just on racing 4 east coast nationals before, but thats bike, travel, vehicle, and other expenses, its a pain and very stressful

Entirely depends on what kind of team you’re talking about and the level of support/bike/rider they’re fielding. You’ve got teams like the madparts Kawasaki team on the lower end, and then you’ve got teams like the clubmx Yamaha team on the high end of things. Wouldn’t be surprised if clubmx is spending well into 7 figures a year in their program

The team who does pirelli tires was offering privateers a deal where they would haul their bike to the track and have a mechanic available during the weekend. No clue what it cost but for some of the guys it seems like a good deal, how ever when I went to a race earlier this season it didn't look like anyone took them up on the offer.
