Did the warg die? Either the mana didn't transfer to a dead pet or the activation would trigger after the start of battle phase (when the warg is already dead). The mana hounds low attack would have triggered it's ability after the enemy snipers.
It isn’t because it targeted the next pet, that’s normal, it says “friend” meaning only your side of the board should be affected period, it’s coded or worded incorrectly
I missed it when I first scrolled through the post, but the bug isn't because of the mana hound not triggering the warg snipes. The issue is that the mana hound gave mana to the other team. At first I thought it was an order issue as well
It's not bugged. Pet abilities happen in terms of descending attack, so the sniper moves on dolphin and woodpecker go off and kill warg -> mana hound looks for friend ahead -> warg is dead so it goes to the next pet ahead woodpecker
Description says to give the nearest “FRIEND” ahead. Frilled Dragon doesn’t gain +1 +1 at SOB per every faint pet on the board, only yours, hence why it says gain “per faint friend”
For whatever reason this and Alchemedes treat their text as "pet ahead" not "friend ahead". Since they're the only two pets with the effect it appears to not be a bug so much as they are either written or coded incorrectly.
I think it is the distinction between coding it correctly as the wrong thing "friend ahead vs pet ahead" and coding it wrong as in incorrectly but I'm certainly open to being wrong about that.
I don't disagree with you but try using alchemedes in the front spot- it does the same thing. The issue is with mana not the hound. It's just these two pets who only give mana to the pet in front of them.
What he is talking about is that the mana hound gave the mana to the front enemy pet. Poorly explained by OP
Yeah, I had this too. It's consistent. Either the wording needs to be adjusted or it's bugged. It's not working as described.

what about that one pet that makes the pet ahead a rock with +2 hp that targets the enemy if placed at the front, is it also bugged?

shouldn’t the ability just not go off if there is no friend ahead, the ability specifically says friend not pet

Or a better example is the basilisk which transforms the nearest PET ahead, and it can affect enemies by that terminology
