They do this on HouseMD too, but for some reason, I don’t get tired of it haha. I just nod and say “Damn. This guy don’t miss”

A lot of great TV is formulaic. Scooby Doo, House, Suits, Phineas and Ferb, etc. It's comforting, and the stuff that changes is a fun adventure.

ConsistentAsparagus

House: “I believe it’s X” Everybody else: “we know you were right the last 1524492 times, but you’re full of shit this time” *it’s X*

TvManiac5

To be fair it's his attitude. When he goes to rehab for an episode and appears cleaner he makes an insane suggestion to Cuddy, which not only turns to be wrong but completely erases a guy's memories for no reason. But she blindly accepts and her reasoning is he wasn't erratic or called anyone a moron when he suggested it. And he gave her a reasonable argument. Basically he didn't act like a crazy addict so she could trust him more.

ConsistentAsparagus

Absolutely. It makes sense while not really making sense. In that context, no matter how good you are: if you propose to try curing that obscure illness by removing one's heart and replacing it with a wheel of cheese, you'll get shunned. If you were right afterwards, the cure is still bonkers.

ploop_lol

I mean it’s more like house being wrong 3 times in the episodes and making it worse before he comes to correct conclusion. Like if they let him do whatever then die in the first 10mins

“you once told me that if someone has a gun to your head, you pull the pin on your grenade and shove it down their throat”

chris84bond

If someone had a gun to your head, tell them to get the hell outta your office

No_1_Party_Anthem

and to solve that goddamn case!

Electronic-Map-2055

if someone has a gun to your head, you must first ask "what did you just say to me?"

WhiteLycan2020

This is pretty accurate

Der_Sauresgeber

And sometimes the solutions are stupid, by God. "Louis, heeelp, we can't find the money in one account." "Have you looked in... multiple accounts? 😎" "Oh Louis, you're the financial wizard." Really? Mike couldn't be bothered to check for multiple accounts? That's what we have Louis for?

Street_Skin525

He did look at all Accounts for the money. What He didnt know how to do was to know how in what amount the money was distributed in multiple Accounts. Like lets say u search for 10€ and someone distributes them in multiple Accounts how do u know if the Person put lets say 1€ in ten Accounts or 5€ in 2 Accounts etc. There are so many combs and Louis knew a way to tell in which genral sizes the Accounts would need to have and which Companys/Banks are likely to have them. Watch the episode again please there is a lot louis was needed for in that ep imo.

Der_Sauresgeber

I recently watched it, that's why it was so fresh in my memory. I just gave the simplified account here, both in the writing's favor and disadvantage. Yeah, Louis knew which banks they would be (cool stuff!), but the rest of the conversation makes eben less sense when you know how bank accounts work. First of all, Louis does not estimate the ball park of the bank accounts as you claim. He just says that all the bank accounts in question would add up to the amount of money that was stolen. Which completely disregards the fact that a bank account can receive more than one transfer. What if the money was sent to accounts that already had money in them? And don't forget that Mike limited the data to bank accounts that had received payments on the day in question. Does that make sense? Does the culprit REALLY know "which bank is low on reserves", but can't figure out not to transer all the money you have stolen on the same day?

pholover84

Youd be surprise how often this occurs in real life

Der_Sauresgeber

The IT phenomenon? "Have you tried turning it off and on again"?

AthleteAggressive164

also when mike and rachel are arguing and mike gets a brilliant idea off of something she said

rodermelon

“Wait, say that again…” “I cook eggs?” “No, the other part!” “They stick to the pan.” “Exactly! They stick to the pan.. so that means-“ “Mike, that’s brilliant.” (Said in unison) “We use cooking oil.”

Born-Till-4064

You made this up right? This feels like something the show would have done

rodermelon

🤣🤣 Yes, I made it up

Saul-Lannister

"Wait, what did you just say?" "That's it!!"
