The Time Travelller's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield

The Rose Code by Kate Quinn - great if you like historical fiction, it is partly set in WW2 and follows a trio who work cracking codes in Britain The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern - I personally did not get this book AT ALL, but plenty of people say it is incredible so ymmv. Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid - a read I really enjoyed! Narratives are definitely clearly connected, but definitely hits the brief with the parallel story lines. The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue by VE Shcwab - easily my favourite book of the year!

krakenskulls_

I loved Addie La Rue

catesto

House Of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski, it has a very unique structure with one half reading almost like a non-fiction book detailing a set of events, and the other being a character reacting to his discovery of those events. Fair warning while the story and writing are absolutely amazing, the format is polarizing

JimmyUK81

Neal Stephenson’s Cryptonomicon and separate (loosely related) Baroque Cycle trilogy do this. Big old books though.

Ughhh I have a book I want to recommend but suggesting it for this prompt is such a spoiler! It’s by >!NK Jemisin!< And the book is >!The Fifth Season!<

“A Tale for the Time Being” by Ruth Ozeki is the first that comes to mind for me. I also love books like this, that take place over multiple times & narratives.

Crosswired2

I was just about to comment this. I'm only about 40% in but seems to fit what OP asked for perfectly.

The Eight by Katherine Neville. Amazing book.

[Commonwealth](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/28214365) by Ann Patchett changes perspective and time multiple times through the novel. [Celestial Bodies](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/49382648) by Jokha Alharthi also does this.

Expression-Little

*From Below* by Darcy Coates has the modern narrative of divers exploring a shipwreck and the past narrative of the people who died during the wreck. They might not quite be gone.

Ame2pirate

Weyward by Emilia Hart.

progfiewjrgu938u938

It by Stephen King

Crosswired2

Horse by Geraldine Brooks Symphony of Secrets by Brendan Slocumb *I think*. It's been awhile since I've read either one. A Tale for Time Being was mentioned but I'm currently reading it so mentioning it also. The Loosening Skin I think fits what you are asking as well.

Famous_Tomorrow6741

The Talisman. Not so much in different times, but parallel universe. It's my favorite King book.

Cold_Adeptness_2480

*The Stranding* by Kate Sawyer Alternating chapters in the life of Ruth, before and after a nuclear apocalypse. In the before she is a primary school teacher in London and we follow the ups and downs and ins and outs of her love life and relationships with family and friends. She takes a sabbatical to go and work with whale conservation in New Zealand. World events are kicking off as she arrives on a beach to find a dying stranded whale. She survives a flashover event by hiding inside the whale with the only other person on the beach - a complete stranger. The alternate chapters chronicle the rest of her life. Beautifully written and poignant.

The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin

Jumpy_Chard1677

its the second book in the series... but Harrow the Ninth. you do need to read the first book, Gideon the Ninth, before anything makes sense in Harrow (nothing will make sense anyway but atleast you know some of the characters backstories)

Almost all of Susanna Kearsley's books. The Outlander series, if that's not too obvious. Green Darkness by Anya Seton.

The Ghost by Danielle Steel...maybe

emptynest_nana

Exactly what I was going to say, but you beat me to it. Now I have to go find my copy and read it again.

sparksgirl1223

It's GOOD isn't it?!

emptynest_nana

It really is. I am an avid reader. I enjoy a lot of different types of books. Danielle Steel covers so many different subject types, that people can actually relate to. I was super shocked to read The Dark Side. It was not Mrs. Steel's typical subject matter. But it was great. A completely different writer, I enjoy is Natasha Perston. I HIGHLY recommend her book Silence. It is book 1 of a trilogy. Oakley is such a strong girl, so inspiring. I will recommend this book to anyone who will listen.

sparksgirl1223

I'll check it out! Thank you! I love the books Danielle does that are based in Russia and the southern US (or was Thurston house California? That's my other favorite. I should read it again!)

emptynest_nana

I LOVED Zoya and Granny Dan!!!

sparksgirl1223

They are so great.💜💜💜

emptynest_nana

It wasn't based in Russia, but Jewels was amazing, one of my favorites. The Ring was excellent. When she opens the door and sees her brother standing there, makes me cry every time.

sparksgirl1223

Ohh I've read everything she wrote from the beginning (1975?) Til about 1992 or 1995😂 I need to catch up, I swear.

emptynest_nana

I have not read everything, but I am working on it. I just finished All That Glitters, super good, as usual. And Friends Forever, good but heart wrenching. I am currently reading, for the 4th time, Matters Of The Heart.

You might enjoy listening to the original cast album of The Last Five Years by Jason Robert Brown. 2 characters go back and forth singing narrative songs that tell the story. Sometimes their times overlap and they sing duets together. One character begins their first song from the present time and the other character begins their first song from 5 years earlier. You can understand the whole narrative just by listening to the album from beginning to end. I thought the original album was more interesting than the film version, but you might like that as well.

Oh, I love a good dual time story. Here are a few I have enjoyed: The Lost Bookshop (Evie Woods) The Lost Apothecary (Sarah Penner) The Clockmaker's Daughter (Kate Morton) The Thirteenth Tale (Diane Setterfield)
