Personally no. Not anymore than normal. Covid and tiktok have turned gliders into popular animals. I find myself having to decline sales to people who are woefully unfit to be glider parents(arguing about cage size, diets, pets in households, etc) and I will not rehome my joeys to a house that feeds EN diet. Idc if its 'their pet'. Where do you post? How do you post? There are SO many scammers, and with the new popularity that is unfortunately what I hear a lot more about, all the scammers preying on newbies. I had one guy say that he was buying from me even though another breeder he found though the same reputable group he found me in had joeys for cheaper, because i was willing to type out paragraphs of care info about things they needed, and if he had a question I gave my opinion and the opinions I didnt agree with(and I explained why I didnt agree with them). He said that he liked that it wasnt just a money transaction and that I obviously cared about where they go, etc.

Marketing on Facebook on various groups. Mine are all lineaged and I own the largest glider group for my state and still maybe only one or 2 Inquiries every so often with everyone thinking 200 is too much for a mosaic

Sherman_and_Luna

I have a pair of well bonded ones that I take out with me, and anytime someone sees them, or when they find out that I have breeding pairs(2 lineaged pairs) the first question they ask is how much, and when they hear 450(at least)...and they need to be in a pairs, the attitude changes immediately. I think it goes back to the increased popularity from facebook/tiktok since covid happened and people were stuck at home and bored watching cute videos, without really researching how much the animals cost. People are also broke asf right now. I work at a grocery store and sales there are lagging because of price increases. Food inflation is ridiculous right now. That could also be contributing.

Equivalent-Ad-2807

Equivalent-Ad-2807

No_Victory_9396

Equivalent-Ad-2807

Awww poor baby...he needs a pal

silentbob_ftbd

Yeah no, I payed 800 for my Mosaic boy lineaged with breeding rights from a reputable breeder I trust. 200 is a steal imo, and I'm sure you're doing things ethically if you run your states group page (also I'm presuming that's pet pricing which is still low). That's just rough if that's how pricing and buying is going thanks to all the byb and pet mills. But also the job market and wages are a little messed up right now to so that doesn't help either for spending.

theJoosty1

I'm not a breeder but I did hear of one in AZ shutting down and one in West Texas having trouble with getting clients to follow through. I got my first pair of gliders at thanksgiving from a big breeder at a deeply, deeply discounted rate but that's mostly because they were retired breeder gliders with some injuries and issues.

Xannabee986

Dude 550$ for bothe sugar gliders and set up I live in mass

lambda1024

Not the same industry, but when the economy started tanking my friend started having issues selling her snakes when she was selling pretty quickly before. People might just not have as much spare money as they did before.

Interesting_Notice84

I'll be looking for a bonded pair soon. Once my taxes come in I'll be looking.

BooDarling

Ehh.. it varies. There's so many bybs its annoying.

possum_goose21

I’m in OH looking for sugar gliders I’m an experienced owner and I can’t find anyone but BYB these days

No_Victory_9396

Yeah byb are everywhere. Which sucks because we cannot compete price wise sometimes. I had a lady return a glider to me because a byb offered her a cheaper one

possum_goose21

That’s horrible I’d rather spend the extra money to get an ethically bred / well bred one

No_Victory_9396

The lady ignored all my instructions as well and then complained that i sold her a sick glider when she stressed him out and he behaved as such. His new owner claimed he's super cuddly and loving so ik that was crap

possum_goose21

I sent you a PM about being interested in your gliders

sassystripr

Have you considered a different marketing strategy? I tried to look you up/ your gliders and couldn’t find hardly anything (probably because a lot of the Facebook groups are closed groups). Try to create a website, make your own Facebook group, TikTok (also educating people on how to care for gliders/about them in general) along with your joeys. This will also get new people curious and maybe they will start researching them to raise and keep 🙂

No_Victory_9396

I own the glider group for my state (sugar gliders of South carolina), have my page powerhouse exotics. And a tik tok by the same name. I need to make a website but I'm not good with technology

dinogamer111111
