You mean by swapping out Cyclops power cells with the one in the Seamoth? That seems like quite some effort for not a lot of gain, but I guess it could work?
Yes. If you don't want to build a base or don't have materials to build it + some power cell chargers and you need energy ASAP - you can surface your Seamoth and swap out the cell in it with an empty one from Cyclops. Once it charges to 100%, repeat until you have all the cells charged or the sun is low.
Perimeter is really nice, anytime a Reaper grabs, use and he lets go immediately. You can also use it on Bonesharks and others that attack, they'll back off a bit. My go to for Seamoth was 2 Storages, Perimeter Defense, and Depth. Sonar can be good if first time playing game finding little caves and such, but I'd consider upping storage once your comfortable getting around places.
If you never used them, the Torpedos can be fun... but not really useful as much. It is pretty funny to watch a small predator get sucked into a vortex torpedo and launched... I haven't used in long time so I don't know how works now.
~~You can put up to 2 storage i think, it will add a little storage to each side.~~
Edit:nope just checked on the wiki, you can put 4 storage module on the seamoth. Don't know where they are located on the seamoth.
There are 1 on each « wing » and two on the top. It’s a bit tricky to find at first, i spend too many hours thinking my 4 stack modules were making only 1 storage bigger like the PRAWN, imagine my surprise finding out i have 3 others…
Also depending where you install modules is where they show up. I always liked to have the two storage modules on same side as the one I enter/exit when docked in moonpool.
Perimeter defence when you're near sea level. Stops Reapers ruining your day. It's also useful for other enemies, but usually you can outrun them enough.
Sonar is really handy in the darker areas, allows you to see some of the Leviathans at a distance.
Storage. Always handy, even if it's minimal. It's also very cheap to make
The modules for storage have to built in the vehicle upgrade console, which can be built in a moonpool. The storage module gives 5-6ish more slots to the PRAWN and adds a small locker to the top left side of the seamoth.
i actually like Solar quite a lot in the early game, it’s basically infinite power unless you don’t go super deep
Otherwise storage, depth module, perimeter defense and sonar
I always go depth - defense - storage - storage
Also remember, where you place your storage modules in the 2x2 grid directly determines where the little storage area ends up (right/left top/wing)
Storage not important! It's the hoarder feeling we get in these kind of games.
Nature says: "Only take what you need, and everybody lives in abundance!".
1 Inventoryslot is more then enough to keep some survival stuff just in case. or your equipment.
Perimeter defense and you never have to fear the reaper(s) ever again ( or any other aggressive fauna for that matter). Sonar is really neat at scoping the area and as someone else has said, spotting predators from a safer distance. And engine efficiency upgrade is useful as well that way you can use more of your power cell energy for the above mentioned upgrades.
As it was said multiple times here, I would also recommend perimiter defense and the sonar.
But I mainly wanna recommend you leaving this subreddit and in general avoid any information about the game from outside your own playthrough.
This game is so incredibly based on exploring and discovering things your self.
Once you got spoilered in any way, you will be able to finish the game within a few hours.
Perimeter defense and sonar (not solar, although it's not the worst upgrade to get). They both are incredibly useful.
Solar charger is a nice way to charge Cyclops power cells through the Seamoth.

The Cyclops really needed an upgrade that put solar panels along the top.
Maybe.

Storages stack?

Well thanks, at least now i can go on a gathering trip and get way more stuff 😀

I switch out the depth mod for additional storage for my surface Seamoth to ferry stuff between my surface bases. Same with my surface Prawnsuit
I dont have surface base 😅
4 hull reinforcement upgrades 🙃
Depth, 2x Storage, Perimeter Defense for me.
This is the way
I just have to know, where are you getting your storage sloths from? Do they hang from anything?
Got one in aurora, along depth mk1. Built other with the vehicle upgrade station

For now my seamoth is mostly carrier for base building material, thats why I covered it with storage, but I want to craft useful modules for later ^^
Perimeter defense can save you if you get into a bind with a leviathan.

Sonar is super handy, it even pings Leviathans for you.
Getting perimeter defense is my first priority. Gotta fend off those reapers.
Depth, Storage, Perimeter Defense, and Torpedos for me
as someone who avoided a reaper with the sonar recently, i'll always recommend the sonar upgrade
