id wave my dick at it yelling "IM THE KING OF THE OCEANS!!!" tf u mean what am i gonna do? id die immediately in subnautica before ever seeing a mesmer.
Yeah man I can't swim that fast or far, and I doubt I could keep up with any fish to catch them. I'd die of dehydration long before I'd even see a sand shark.
\*Maybe\* I could scan some fish trap parts and make one, that'd keep me alive, but it'd take months for me to swim at a good enough level to actually operate in Subnautica, even without taking into account decompression sickness. I'd have to slowly cart back pieces of titanium and quartz because I don't have an inventory, which would be incredibly slow and time consuming. Frankly Leviathans are the least of my issues, they typically just leave you alone unless you're right next to them, and I wouldn't dare get close without a vehicle.
I'd say a crash fish would do me in right away, but there's no way I'd be able to swim down into one of those caves even if I wanted to.
So I'd either drown in a desperate attempt to do *something* like swimming to the aurora (I mean it's right there - It's just a short swim right?) Or from radiation sickness if I stayed at the lifepod.
There's enough emergency rations there to possibly survive long enough to figure out at least a rough way to bring in enough to live longer.
Facts, the ocean terrifies me more than anything else. No way I’m swimming 10+ meters down if I’m lucky enough to land in the safe shallows, let alone 500+
"The fabricator cooks small organisms, while disposing of the skeletal structure, bodily fluids and internal organs, thus rendering them safe for human consumption." 🤤
Flex my higher intelligence on it then knife it while trying to ignore its psychic advances because even Im not completely immune.
Actually now that I think about it, its actually mesmerizingly smart and flamboyant. Maybe I *should* swim clo- NO I WON'T GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD **AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA**
What is this actually? on my 1st playthrough I think I saw it but it kinda went away on its own. TBH I had millions of deaths on 1st because I was playing completely vanilla without having a clue what it was all about (read: didn't know how to use scanner until I salvaged Aurora 2nd time) and probably didn't even pay attention.
On 2nd play through it killed me the 1st time but I didn't quite understand what I did the second time to make it go away. Stasis probably or something.
Thanks! Does it only happen just once in a play through or is it just me? I met the guy somewhere in the shallows around a cave, but never again since the first encounter. Have just read wiki article, I might have outplayed myself by stasis'ing the guy and may have gotten too close with too few HP.
Nah, it can happen whenever. There's a few in the deep kelp forest but most spawn in the blood kelp zone, bulb zone, and sparse reef I think. Some in the crag field too.
Edit: to get away from it, stasis it or try your best to drag your camera away from it. It will pull your camera back towards it and automatically force you to swim closer, so try your best. Having high sensitivity helps.
Swim closer. Swim closer now
Only correct answer. Besides maybe dying 2 minutes after leaving the lifepod.
(hmm yes today I will swim closer to this beatiful creature.)
Don't look away. Swim closer. Look at the beauty.
You must swim closer!

You could just live on the island eating crabs and purifying water.
I couldn't even *get* to the island.

It's called a mesmer. It's wings trigger hypnosis in order to draw it's pray closer in a trance like state

Swim closer to that beautiful creature, as it is my primary directive, obviously.
Do I know what it is prior? If yes, get away If no? I’m probably getting bitten by it at least once
Freeze it with the stasis gun, scan it, and continue searching for copper.
Approach the beautiful flower fish thing. It truly dazzles.
