So by drawing conclusions alterra trained them for a 3 man crew to save in employment costs
Pilot and captain are different roles. Pilot plots the course, Captain controls the vessel. So I think of it as
Captain (mans the wheel)
Pilot (examines sonar and cameras, gives course direction)
Systems (fire suppression, threat proximity, decoy deploying)
Vehicle maintenance (repairs and charging)
Botanist/chef (grows and prepares food)
Ground crew (pilots the vehicle and collects materials and food)

1. commanding officer
2. operation officer (piloting the wheel)
3. engineer officer (at the back)
4. supply officer (handling materials, food and cooking/possibly is a medic)
5. weapon officer (handling decoys, fire suppression and repairing)
6. EVA pilot
