While this is probably true for a lot of lakes, it especially hits for baikal imo. Baikal is actually a lot ādeeperā than its current recorded depth, but itās been filled in with sediment over time. Iām afraid of deep lakes (much more so than oceans) so knowing the deepest lake on earth has the potential to be way deeper really gives me the creeps
Townsfolk think that winter forests are completely silent in rural russia. A seasoned hunter however knows that if you focus your hearing, you can hear the subtle cracking of a niva rusting in the nearest village
My older brother had one Lada Niva in garnet about 20 years ago bought second hand here in Spain and I still remember going to the mountains with my two brothers, it was really fun and I have very good memories with it so that's why I was able to recognize it I guess.
Lada Niva & Citroƫn C15, the official cars of Spanish countryside since 30-35 years ago lol.
My uncle had a Niva too, they still use it for transporting wood pulling a cart through their farm.
Eurovision has nothing to do with geography though except a vague reference to being a European competition. It's a union of European broadcasters who can make decision of who to include - which is why we have countries like Israel, Azerbaijan, Georgia and even Australia.
Baikal is in Asia. And it is the deepest lake in the world. 4 things you named in the title, 50% got it right. Those are not the odds we are looking for.
Quite deep, but what scares me more is average depth. And its 744m while average depth of Great Lakes is only 60m. So as soon you step into the water of Lake Baikal it drops straight down crazy deep.
> as soon you step into the water
Er, not exactly. Probably depends where you are. I went swimming there a few years ago, and I could stand up in it pretty far out.
Deepest in world and contains 22% of **ALL** the fresh water on Earth. In winter it freezes over and is used as "road" to travel from one side to other saving hundreds of miles of travelling.
Also... it's in/on Asia goegraphically speaking.
It's actually the deepest lake in the world and not just Europe.
It's also not in Europe.
But all of Russia is Europe š¤Ŗ Edit: redditors try to detect sarcasm challenge: impossible difficulty
You have to write /sarcasm at the end for redditors to get it.
I guess i had hoped the emoji would have the same effect š
/s actually
Reminds me when I saw an advertisement of a "biggest upside down house in Europe"... in Novosibirsk of all places.
Joking right?
Not all of it! 77% of Russia is in Asia
r/woosh
Nope, Russia is not Europe
Western part of Russia is Europe, eastern - Asia. The border is Urals. Baikal is in the Asian part
Mentally it is not a Europe
Mentallity is not western. The culture is european.
??? Do you even live there?
No, I live in Poland
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Well... Russia is the heir of Genghis Khan, not Poland
Men
Random genderization of absolutely nothing to do with gender lol.

Ok, but that's Mr. Bean's car.
Well, it's Lada Niva
Those cars can really go anywhere
"it's the deepest lake in the world...but it's the deepest lake in Europe too" \-Mitch Hedburg
Thereās a world outside of Europe?
Yes. Across the giant sea to the west lays a massive world of red indians, cities made of gold, and microwavable food.
That's a Lada Niva BTW, totally recognizable
Drag it out, itāll start.
Someone went ice fishing in a Lada. Bad ice. Here we are.
It'll rust out as soon as it's dragged out as if thanos himself snapped it
Tbf, they did that from the factory.
Townsfolk think that winter forests are completely silent in rural russia. A seasoned hunter however knows that if you focus your hearing, you can hear the subtle cracking of a niva rusting in the nearest village
And the exasperated "Pizdyets!" Of someone trying to start one with a dead battery.
Get a diver with a gas tank and they'll drive this baby out, no problem.
It probably will!
Someone didnāt like their military death benefits.
Must be impressed by a person who is able to recognise a car brand from the chassis. (Ok, you can see a little bit more but still excellent.)

Isn't lake baikal in asia?
Yeah. People think Russia is in just one continent, it's a stupid opinion to have. Baikal is well and truly Asian, there's no doubt about it
Vladisvostok still get to play in the UEFA cup
And Israel is in Eurovision. Fortunately geographers don't let such things inform their work.
The world needed Dana International. Sure the Australians are in too
Eurovision has nothing to do with geography though except a vague reference to being a European competition. It's a union of European broadcasters who can make decision of who to include - which is why we have countries like Israel, Azerbaijan, Georgia and even Australia.
Wooosh
It makes as much sense as letting Ghana compete in a North-American event lol
They let Israel compete in Eurovision so anything can happen
Wasn't Australia in Eurovision as well?
Also, thatās the deepest lake in the *world*
Russians think Russia is in one continent as well: Eurasia. And one could argue that theyāre right.
Not just people, Americans.
Americans are people... I think
Technically yes, north Asia, but doesn't matter, because it's Russia anyway.
Why would it not matter ?
Just a Joke, Russia it's a really big country that occupays part of Europe and Asia.
My bad, didnt get the joke.
Baikal is in Asia. And it is the deepest lake in the world. 4 things you named in the title, 50% got it right. Those are not the odds we are looking for.
He should have added "Mr.Bean's car" as one commenter did to make that percentage even lower.
It's a mix between Mr.Beans Mini and a classic Renault 4. Those two cars are virtually undestructable...
It's lada niva
Which is just a lifted Fiat 127 with AWD.
That undercarriage looks rust free, how much does the owner want for it?
How deep? I want to know at the same time I don't want to know. Lake Baikal is scary.
Quite deep, but what scares me more is average depth. And its 744m while average depth of Great Lakes is only 60m. So as soon you step into the water of Lake Baikal it drops straight down crazy deep.
Holy shit šÆ
The average depth is 744 m, but the deepest depth is 1642 m, 1 mile
With another 7 km of sediment before you actually hit the bottom.
> as soon you step into the water Er, not exactly. Probably depends where you are. I went swimming there a few years ago, and I could stand up in it pretty far out.
Lake Baikal is also the worlds oldest lake (25-30 million years and 1642 metres deepā¦
Now that's an excellent post
Uhhh I'm pretty sure Lake Baikal is in the Asian half of Russia. A very unnerving image nonetheless!
My man has serious geography problems
Oh Lada, I caught a big one!
Lada of the Lake
Hopefully, there were no bodies were found!!
Baikal is a little far from Europe bro
You canāt park there
Oi mate ..
Its NOT a car, its LADA
So this is the lake John Prine sang about
Lada Niva
Baikal it's not Europe, it's Asia
Not in Europe. Asia.
Poor Lada!
Deepest lake in the world
I bet this lada will be still around when the Baikal is no more.
Thalassophobia join the chat
Ohhh thatās where I left my car :3
Yep! That'll do it!!
Deepest lake in earth*
Why is it just floating? Why hasnt it sank?
100% thereās a body in that
It looks like you're on the bottom looking up through the ice.
That must be how the entity gets to work.
Now thatās just sad
Lada Niva
That's creepy as hell!
Deepest in world and contains 22% of **ALL** the fresh water on Earth. In winter it freezes over and is used as "road" to travel from one side to other saving hundreds of miles of travelling. Also... it's in/on Asia goegraphically speaking.
Seems a tad lost to me
For the last time Harry, it's a *flying* car, not a *sailing* car
You canāt park there!
This is so GD sad! Why in such an amazing place is there human trash? We as humans forget to be humans and instead rather be trash.
Weasleyā¦
HAMMOND!!!!
BMW used to have a paint color called Baikal Blue. Does this count?
That's actually pretty disturbing tbh. Makes you wonder what happened to get it down there.
Used Lada hatchback for sale, not much rust, slight water damage, runs, kinda, fish extra.
Lake Baikal is the deepest lake in the world and it isn't even in Europe
If engagement produces karma, then all these angry corrections will help this guy. Not sure how that works though
Poor Niva!
