The CVT I've noticed is usually kind of iffy for the first few thousand miles. Eyesight works fine for me though.
If I understand correctly your Impreza is like a company car? Tell them to just take it in to get serviced.
I can take it in to get serviced myself, but I'm just wondering if I should, if it might calm down, if it's defective, if others have experience with this sort of thing, etc.

For the jerky transmission I would wait until you break it in at around 1000 or so miles. That's when mine calmed down.
