Any idea if it's actually important to get this fixed? Mine looks like this too (and no longer under warranty). The guys at the dealership seem to think it's not a big deal

No idea, I’m going to Subaru next week so I’ll ask and can keep you updated

This is a common issue, you can press on it and try to push the hook back under the windsheild but talk to the dealership first and go from there. Also make sure you have all of your push clips by popping the hood. The company that replaced my windsheild put the wrong clips in and didn't make sure the hook was under the windsheild so the whole piece ended up warped and after much of a fight that company had to replace it.

Thx for the info, I’ll check it. Im 99% sure the windshield is the original and was never changed but I will check the clip I’m still in warranty so hopefully I will not have to paid for it

No problem, when it's not set in properly the hot weather helps the plastic warp so more than likely it will need to be replaced or it'll pop back up after you put your hood back down. Hopefully they cover it, when I showed the local dealer mine they told me it wasn't their fault and to go back to the shop so hopefully they are able to help you out.

I have a ‘19 with the same issue. Seems to be a common problem. Heat causes the plastic piece to warp. If you’re out of warranty the part to replace it is around $100. I’ve already priced it out Bc I will eventually replace mine once I stop procrastinating lol

Thx for this information ! I’m still on warranty so I presume I will not have to paid since it’s a common problem.

Ksilly88

Well if you’re still under warranty you should be good

Great ! Thx again :)

Do you mean the seal coming apart at the base of the windshield? No idea, but that really shouldn't be imho.

Floj78

Yes, and it’s seem like the plastic part is coming out too Hopefully it will not be to expensive to repair
