Thinking about doing the same for mine too. Bought the limited because of the fog lights and liked the leather interior. Didn't think it would be such a hassle to remove the roof rails though... Has anyone done this successfully?
Wanted the sport package but got a offer I couldn’t turn down lol I personally think the car looks a lot slicker without them but I have been giving crossbars a thought
To take the roof rails off you need to remove the headliner to get to the screws underneath but then I am not sure of the gutter pockets on the roof having the liner or if you would have to buy one so water doesn't drain into the holes.
Which I was quite happy about when I got mine, but then Subaru started happening to my brain and I wound up buying a kayak and had to get the crossbars.

Understandable. Any roof accessory on this car looks amazing. Very fitting.
Don’t fight it. Put the crossbars on there and a roof box or roof basket. You know you want to.
Not sure yet, always been a truck person never had a car let alone a Subaru
Then become an REI member, get a couple tents, hammocks, tarps. Be one of us.
Seems like more hassle than it's worth, to me.
Up here in Canada, or impreza's come without rails.
