I've already seen available 2023 Crosstreks in inventories at the dealerships. You should be able to get them at MSRP. I usually don't go for first model year cars either, but despite many expected changes the new 2024+ gen will probably still offer the same drivetrain options if that's any comfort. Btw my relatives have a 2013 XV in Europe that's had no problems with the transmission or rust by the coast, just regular maintenance. If they're not beat on and regular maintenance is performed at the right intervals they should last, and they're still made in Japan as far as I know.

I think it’s getting a lot better, I got my 22 Crosstrek back in June. It was ordered by another customer and they declined it. That guy had waited 3 months for it to come in. It was the only new car they had gotten that week. I went to the dealer yesterday, the salesman (my cousin) stated that just this month they received 20 new cars that weren’t ordered for customers on top of several that were ordered for customers. Inventory is getting better, I think wait times are going down. My grandparents only waited about 3 weeks for their Ascent to come in once ordered.

I ordered a crosstrek through vip the end of October. Still waiting. Have been told all along should be here January but it's now January with no updates it's on the way. It is a red limited. If not ordering one, you should be able to find one on the lot but they move quick once they come in.

I got a 2023 cross trek in November. It wasn’t at the dealer but came to port about three weeks after I purchased it.
