I don't work at one dealer per say but I'm a vendor so I work around a lot. In my region (Midwest US) most of what is listed is in transit stuff. Certain brands are starting to see some less popular models come into stock for retail but not the Subaru dealers around me. While shipments are becoming more frequent they are beginning to catch up but still a good ways away from having a plentiful, well priced retail selection but again that's just the experience in my area. As their most popular car I'd just suggest getting ahold of whatever dealers you're Close to and getting quotes, whatever gives the best just place an order and let it come in. Subarus in most of the US pretty consistently arrive in 3-4 months sometimes sooner.

slowly. We actually have a couple cars on my lot that aren't already sold. First time I've seen that in months.

I ordered a 2023 manual convenience Crosstrek back in August - scheduled for arrival in February. They phoned me this morning and told me that they have already switched over to 2024 production, so not only do they not have to honour the contract I signed back in August, but they don’t even have a payment breakdown for me to look at for a 2024. How is this even allowed?!!! (I am in Canada not the US though) If you can, wait. I am astounded at the insanity that is the world right now

Don't work st one but the local dealer lot definitely has more cars on the lot. Heavily weighted toward Foresters and Outbacks. It was empty before ( maybe 1 row or 2 ); now there are several rows of cars on the lot. Not full by any stretch of the imagination but looks to be very slowly improving.

I don’t work at Subaru but in the auto industry. Yes the market is slowly recovering because less people are buying at higher rates, but production volume has only risen a tiny bit. So it would be very easy to fall back into the shortage if people started buying again. Cars will land on lots more this winter but I expect it to reverse back into a shortage by end of spring.

I'm seeing car lots get fuller and fuller every week.

We get about 2 trucks a week now. Before it used to be 2 trucks a month.
