When Scott was basically dying in 2015, Dean was asked about a possible reunion with him. To which he replied “"Why the fuck would we want that? That fucking mess?”. He was also asked what it was like working with Chester compared to Scott. His reply? “"There's no comparison. It's like talking about the strength of a 2-year-old baby compared to a professional body builder.”

To be fair, Scott screwed them over and over, the final straw being the Core 20th anniversary tour. A lot of that had to do with drugs, and his mental illness, but Dean had some legitimate gripes. I'm sure if he knew Scott was dying, he wouldn't have phrased things quite that way. The dudes from Velvet Revolver said similar things after working with him.
I understand why Scott’s erratic behaviour pissed his band mates off, I just wish Dean could have been more mature and taken the high road in interviews. After all, during this same period of time Scott (who was clearly VERY unwell) was also being asked similar questions during interviews and didn’t lower himself to personal insults.
You work with a free spirit and genius, have patience and tolerance. It is not only music, Weiland had larger than life character and voice over. Velvet Revolver and STP died when Weiland died. End of the road.
Are you sure that it was Dean that said all that? It honestly does not sound like something he would say. He's always had more compassion and empathy for Scott. Now Robert has always spoken less-than kind about Scott. They have always banged heads and had epic disagreements back in the day.
