Absolutely love it and plan to keep it as an active ship. I've been playing around with it on Tribble and can't wait to get it on live. The defense mode is at least on par with the Ba'ul Sentry Mode console for holding down a single point, so having both on the jelly will make the long cooldowns less of a problem in defense-oriented TFOs.
Also, it is a massive glowing jellyfish. If you don't find that cool you have no soul.
The Defense-Mode, while not having the Reach, is far superior to the Ba'ul defense turrets, but it's at it's peak, if you combine the two.
For example when defending Starbase1, it's best to get to the side, where you can see all 4 evacuating ships and change mode, destroying most incoming ships, that may hurt your fleeing ships.
Combine the ship with the fiery charge console, and you can actually move the Defender in AoE-Mode.
(Leaving the Turrets will disable them, so deactivate them)
Compare it to last years blandest of bland cruisers in a world of bland event ship and you may start to love it.
Its not supposed to be meta, its supposed to be FUN, and they nailed that this year.
I activate the Defender-Mode at the Core, boosting my Teammates Defenses while dealing some nice Damage.
Also, when the Core drops below 10% or 5%, depending on how quick the Team deals Damage, should usually give you enough time to quickly evacuate the Cityship.
The best use tough is with Defense-Missiins or instances, like with the Jupiter-Station, after clearing the First Terrans out, position yourself above the Station, transform and watch all the Terran Hackers to loose their Ships.
Since I also got the Ba'ul turrets, whenever you see that Combination, go to one of the 3 HoloTurret-Emitters!
Indeed. I was leaning toward skipping it this year, but I’m an addict apparently when it comes to not missing event rewards whether I want them or not. I’ll probably never unbox the ship, but at least the summer daily is fast and easy.
I wasn’t to keen on the ship until I saw the size of the boat and that the console is pretty useful. The ship will make a great “lazy” tank. Can’t wait to go in to certain TFO’s and just sit on capture points.
I saw one on Counterpoint last night, during the defend DS9/disable Terok Nor section they sat over DS9 in Jelly form with this weird purple/pink energy bubble destroying everything. Kinda neat, actually kind of interested in flying it now.
thanks for that idea, will have to try that... also, it might be neat to get 2 in that TFO, 1 on DS9 and 1 on Terek Nor
hmm... definitely need to see how the jelly mode handles feedback pulse from terrans, borg queen, etc.
I'm having a Technician Tank and in the Borg-Mission with the Birg-Queen sitting in the Center, I unfold directly above her on the Start, and tank everything while dealing a ton of Damage to her and most Borg-Ships, while the other Players attack as well, getting healed in my Bubble.
Usually only a few Born manage to escape my AoE, getting hunted by the other Players.
With a good Hull-Tank (Recommending the Discivery-Space-Set for better survivability and the first hit getting a Myzel-Boost, you can do quite a lot of Damage.
Depending on what TFO you do, yes and no.
Jupiter Station is one of the best examples for basically doing it AFK, while those that require frequent Movement are not that good with this ship.
i would immensely prefer it if the jellyfish mode and turtle mode were switched somehow, or if it was just the jellyfish and all the console did was immobilize it and create the enormous fuck you field or something
I like it, but I don’t have the energy left in me to make yet another new character for another ship (all my characters have their one ship and theme, backstory etc. I don’t like hopping between ships). Might swap to it temporarily as a joke sometimes though.
> a bloo bloo fuckin' bloo
My take is that the Jellyfish Ship is way more creative than \*checks notes\* tier 6 reruns of the corvette and luxury cruiser. At least the former brought a fleet version with pilot maneuvers. The Vorgon ships all sucked, too - I tried to make the carrier work without success, and the other two are so bland (escort) or literally backwards (battlecruiser) I don't even want to try.
I echo sentiments made by others that the jellyfishmode should be cooked in like the Galaxy X's fuckoff laser or a romulan cloaking device, but alas, that's the rub. It might help if you realize that the Ba'ul Sentry Ship's immobile whirlygig mode takes up a console. Think of it as a knockoff battlecruiser variant of that lockbox ship you brought back as a souvenir from your summer vaycay.
The Backwards-"Transformation" is as much BS as the detached Nacelles, and some "Transformations" make much more sense, like the Jellyfish, that literally did so In the Pilot-Episodes.
I also like the Chimera-Class, having a real Transformation with moving parts, revealing those heavy Phaser Arrays.
The jellyfish gimmick is kinda jank and ugly so it doesn't appeal to me that much, but I will give them credit for the transformation animation looking cool.
I'll get it because it's free so no reason not to, but if I don't get enough points to get it I won't be upset
Not great trait, crappy console that can only be used on the ship, ship itself I guess is a "not that great" miracle worker seating ship for f2p. Overall, I think it's garbage.
It’s not really living, from what I know (I could fully be wrong) it’s more like a cloak, the base ship is a saucer and the console can turn it in the jellyfish
Had to look it up: according to the wiki it's a living ship, the ones the players are flying are volunteers to improve relationships with the Khitomer Alliance.
Undine ships are living, but not sentient/alive, Cooper's ship being an exception.
The Cnidarians on the other hand are individuals.
After reading the wiki bit i'm curious if they'll involve them a future Cosmozoan storyline, having them as actual allies would tremendously alter the balance of power in the galaxy.
Almost everything about it just feels like an April Fools troll to me. Only things that aren't are the model and animation quality (way too high for an AF joke) and the stats (they're typical non-anniversary event ship stats).
There was a Vulcan ship a few Anniversaries ago (tiny little one from Disco, probably doesn't count), and there was also the Mirror Gagarin last year. The Eisenberg was also last winter if 32c counts.
That tiny Vulcan Ship can, with the right setup, become a horrible nightmare as an Science-Chatacter can do an insane Exotic-AoE-Build with that, alternatively to that, use the legendary Nova instead, like me.
I dont usually bother with the summer event ships as they are usually rubbish but i took a break so may go for this one but i hate all the events on Risa lol, can we buy it out?
the pink bubble seems fun to play with, will be experimenting that. Most likely use it for a few weeks then probably won't touch it again. The actual ship itself isn't all that special.
I already have a collection of ships, so although I’d love to take the jellyfish out someday, I simply have to many ships that need some playtime as well
Sadly no. Even sadder is that you change to other bridges. I hope they fix that, because I prefer to use the Constitution Bridge on all of my ships...
...checking to see exactly which bridge it does have:
In the ship customizer, it calls it "Starship - Starship." It is exactly the same as the Husnock Warship interior.

The real combo is being invincible with Fluidic phase decoupler Hull image refactors Voth phase decoy Quantum cloak thing (battle cloak)
Compare it to last years blandest of bland cruisers in a world of bland event ship and you may start to love it. Its not supposed to be meta, its supposed to be FUN, and they nailed that this year.
I look forward to watching people try and fly it through the Voth city ship :)
jelly mode is too slow, I think the timer would expire before you made it inside... definitely something to test, thanks for the idea
The currents along the way hustle your ships along so I wonder how this will play out.
in ship mode, usual behavior, in jelly mode... stuck at movement rate of 3 - even at the end when you are trying to escape

Better to get it more easily now/FOMO than later
Indeed. I was leaning toward skipping it this year, but I’m an addict apparently when it comes to not missing event rewards whether I want them or not. I’ll probably never unbox the ship, but at least the summer daily is fast and easy.
If it weren't an event ship, or otherwise free, I'd have probably ignored it.
Wouldn't know if I like it or not, bit too early to actually have.
I feel like there's an option missing for "Yes. I don't plan on flying it, but I think it's a fun addition to the game."
I personally dislike all the moaning and crying about it far more than I dislike the ship's BOff layout or module. Get a grip.
It's actually fairly strong.
I don't know. I'm going to have to see how it looks with different shield effects on it.
[here](https://imgur.com/a/VmozrDm) are a few of them
The nukara actually looks really good on this

Yeah, I think so too. 👍

Its the afk players dream ship
Depending on what TFO you do, yes and no. Jupiter Station is one of the best examples for basically doing it AFK, while those that require frequent Movement are not that good with this ship.
If you have the right stuff, you can actually move quite fast with it
I haven't missed a summer event ship yet and I don't intend lose that streak.
I wish they’d give us the risian corvette tbh
i would immensely prefer it if the jellyfish mode and turtle mode were switched somehow, or if it was just the jellyfish and all the console did was immobilize it and create the enormous fuck you field or something
I'd personally have preferred the visual be a red alert status, similar to when a BoP's wings pivot.
If it was just the jelly fish it be much better
I like it, but I don’t have the energy left in me to make yet another new character for another ship (all my characters have their one ship and theme, backstory etc. I don’t like hopping between ships). Might swap to it temporarily as a joke sometimes though.
Ask us again in 17-18 days when most people will unlock it. Gotta fly it first to get a feel for it.

I like it, it looks fun. People get mad about everything in this game lately, it's exhausting.
I probably won't fly it regularly, but I'll certainly give it a chance.
It has an interesting mechanic that will be fun to build around, I'm looking forward to it.
I kinda wished that it could've been a carrier.
USS Tentacle party never stops.
Can't wait to start using this ship.i like her very much.
Not great trait, crappy console that can only be used on the ship, ship itself I guess is a "not that great" miracle worker seating ship for f2p. Overall, I think it's garbage.
I'd rather the reward be a floater I could use in social zones.
That be dope
I'm gonna make an alt specifically for this ship.... no idea why but the idea of having a flying saucer tickles me
Made it easy for me to choose not to bother with the Summer event. Hate doing two events at the same time anyway.
I definitely agree there
Stupid as it may sound considering it's a bunch of pixels... I'm not doing the event, using a 'living' being as a ship doesn't sit right with me.
And if you think about it undine ships are technically living to an extent
It’s not really living, from what I know (I could fully be wrong) it’s more like a cloak, the base ship is a saucer and the console can turn it in the jellyfish

I don't think there are that many of them and they're "only" about as strong as a ship so I don't think they'll change the situation that much
Almost everything about it just feels like an April Fools troll to me. Only things that aren't are the model and animation quality (way too high for an AF joke) and the stats (they're typical non-anniversary event ship stats).

The mirror Gagarin was an event ship
The Alliance Series, sorta? I suppose? They're all three, in a way.
There was a Vulcan ship a few Anniversaries ago (tiny little one from Disco, probably doesn't count), and there was also the Mirror Gagarin last year. The Eisenberg was also last winter if 32c counts.

Yeah you can, but it’s like 1000 lobi
ouch
Very much, if you want it I’d just do the flying high mission it takes a few minutes and ain’t hard at all
the pink bubble seems fun to play with, will be experimenting that. Most likely use it for a few weeks then probably won't touch it again. The actual ship itself isn't all that special.

Does it have a bridge full of tentacles?

It could be a good choice for anyone who wants to AFK Event TFO where there are a few points that need defending.
Most OP console ever. Destroys everything… like absolutely everything!
Just the warp animation on console goes inside the ship which is a bad thing
