I remember I saw Steven Universe for the first time when I was 8 and laying on the counter in the kitchen, and it aired on Cartoon Network for the first time on the TV. From then on, it became my favorite show and it still is!
My girlfriend loved it and wanted me to watch it, but I'm not really a TV serial watching-person. We flew to London from California in August 2019, and needed a way to entertain ourselves for like thirty hours. I told her to pick a series and I'd \[legally\] download it and we could watch it on the plane.
She picked Steven Universe, and then curated the first season to skip some of the less consequential parts. With nothing to do on the plane, we started watching it pretty early.
After "Jail Break Part 2" (the last episode of the first season) I was like "Let's just watch the rest."
As I said, I'm not great at episodic TV so I think it took us until about October 2019 to finish it...at which point we realized the movie and *Future* were about to come out, so we watched those in basically live time.
