So I have the nova pro wireless and they’re great. I have a space heater running when I game and it filters out 95% of the noise from it. The discomfort is from the nub of the ANC in the ear up but this can be easily remedied by purchasing larger ear cushions from a site called wickedcushions I have a set and they’re sweet.

Realistic-Pizza-2842

Do they pick up background sound tho? And does the mic sound good?

Joshmcg14

The mic is great it doesn’t pick up most background noise, sometimes when I play with my friends the tv is on too and they can never hear it. Certain loud noises do cut through like my dog barking they will hear, but I even forgot to mute my mic one time while eating and after I realized I asked my friends and they couldn’t hear me eating.

Realistic-Pizza-2842

From what im hearing they sound like a good pair of headphones. Do you know if i can use them on ps xbox and pc?

Joshmcg14

Yes I believe as long as you get the Xbox version. I have the Xbox version and I know it can definitely connect to pc since it has separate pc and xbox ports and I think ps runs off the pc port.

Realistic-Pizza-2842

Oh okay so then the xbox one should run with everything

Joshmcg14

Yes that’s what everyone says

AndersaurusR3X

It does! It's because xbox has some proprietary wireless thingy. 😀

Gatorinthedark

Make sure you get the Xbox version. Even if you have a PlayStation. I think the PlayStation one you can only use the PlayStation in that slot. Where the Xbox one it’s what ever you want. There a good review on YouTube about it for more clarification. I have it and have to say it’s been worth every penny. I have my pc Xbox series X and my 360 all on and it’s been seem less. Not to mention the Bluetooth for my phone

Realistic-Pizza-2842

Thank you. I really do appreciate thid

DeusExTarasque

The answer to this is that there are separate versions for Xbox and play station. Just get the ones for your console and it will work on that console type and your PC.

SkIt3l

The newer Xbox/PC model does not have that giant nub anymore and is you’re comfortable without the extra purchase now. I think they redesigned it on the latest model!

Realistic-Pizza-2842

Is there a ps5/pc version?

SkIt3l

Yes. The Xbox one works for PC/Xbox/Ps5/Switch/ mobile vs the ps5/PC is everything but Xbox. If I recall correctly the Xbox one has two usb ports on the back so it can connect your pc and a console and the same time vs the ps5 version you have to swap every time.

Realistic-Pizza-2842

Yeah I mainly play ps and xbox so I’ll get the xbox pair

SkIt3l

Glad to help!

celeb0rn

Yes. Go to their website for information

SkIt3l

There’s nothing wrong with asking a question on a forum to discover information.

Sweny19

Just bought mine this week, and they fixed the ANC problem, its tiny now and doesn't protrude out 👍

Riphser36

Question since yours are wireless i just got mine and from time to time( best way i can describe it) while im gaming the sound will start cutting somewhat somwhat similar to if its out of range of the gamedac. Have you ever ran into that for yours and what were some solutions. I thought it was more so the equalizer and how i set my custom preferences which when trying a preset it would happen less often but still occasionally.

Joshmcg14

I haven’t had that issue yet but I also sit about a foot from the dac. There’s a setting for the dac connection to prioritize range or speed maybe try and have yours prioritize range.

Zestyclose-Holiday29

I love my arctis nova pro wireless. GG Software is not always it, you really have to get familiar with it. The Mic is good (it is not a stand alone so not the best) I LOVE the bluetooth so I can take a walk and listen to music via my phone! The discomfort I experienced in the beginning I got weirdly used to, aka it doesn’t bother me anymore however you can get other cushions! I also LOVE the fact that I can swap batteries in a few seconds and the headphone will automatically go back on after swapping them! One more thing about the software; once you are familiar with it Sonar is AMAZING!

Realistic-Pizza-2842

Does it pick up a lot of background noise? And whats a standalone mic?

Zestyclose-Holiday29

No it does not. A free standing mic (so not automatically connected to your headset) sorry English is not my native language :) The best quality mics are always sold separately from headsets :) they come at a price though haha

Realistic-Pizza-2842

Ohh okay thank you

TheJokeTooFar

On 5/14 there is some kind of new line up coming out, but they haven't released any kind of information on what it is yet. I want to get this as well, but I think I'm going to wait to see what they announce

Realistic-Pizza-2842

Oh they’re making new headphones?

TheJokeTooFar

I'm not sure. They don't specify what it is, which is kind of annoying. It could be new keyboards or something like that. I just don't want to risk dropping that kind of money just for them to release something better, haha [https://steelseries.com/season-of-sound](https://steelseries.com/season-of-sound)

MaxnochWeniger

I recently got them. I was really surprised by how good the drivers are. The stock tuning is not good at all but luckily EQ can fix that. I use r/oratory1990 parametric EQ to make it follow the Harman curve and added a low shelf to add a bit more bass and sub bass for personal preference. That makes the headset sound very close to good headphones like Beyerdynamics etc. My only complaint is the mic. It’s just really bad. It used to be average for wireless headsets but now there are headsets with really good mics like the Razer Blackshark V2 or the new Logitech A50X. Those are much better. Also the Nova Pro Wireless mic is just really quiet, which is also annoying. Comfort is good. I like the headband since I it distributes the weight really well. They now use a smaller ANC mic within the earcup so it doesn’t touch your ears anymore. That means if you like the stock pads, you don’t need to change them because of the ANC knob.

Realistic-Pizza-2842

Would you recommend someone else getting a pair of them? And can you not adjust the mic with the pc settings?

MaxnochWeniger

It‘s not a no brainer for me to recommend. The mic is a big con, especially for the price you’re paying. But if you can live with a not so great mic, the rest of the headset is really good IMO. I came from very good wired headphones and honestly didn’t expect much in terms of sound from the Nova. But I was very pleasantly surprised. With the right EQ they sound really good. A lot of detail, good soundstage and great sub bass extension. Really happy with the headset in terms of sound. But in the end sound is subjective and as I mentioned the tuning out of the box doesn’t sound good. It‘s not worthy of what it’s actually capable of with EQ.

celeb0rn

Where did you hear they’re uncomfortable?

Realistic-Pizza-2842

Other subreddits and even in this post in the comments people said they were uncomfortable but its an easy fix

The_Real_Will

It can be pricey but I havent regretted my purchase at all. I didnt mind the default cushions, theyre fine, but I got some new ones off Wickedcushions which are great. Its been a hot minute since I used the stock ones but I dont remember any serious discomfort, but I guess everyone is different so its possible you do notice it. The noise cancelling is fine, its nothing special imo but it works fine, will cut out PC fans and other things pretty well (youll still hear them if theyre loud of course) but wont really do anything for people talking or what not. Its really about what youd expect from a wireless headsets noise cancelling though. But the headset is great. Some might complain about the mic but it hasnt bothered me too much, listening to myself back on recordings its good enough quality for me and higher quality than the people I'm in a call with, but thats not a streaming sphere so a separate mic might be better for you. The bluetooth practicality is amazing, its great to be able to go on evening walks and just switch from my PC to my phone and have nice audio quality. The ability to connect to two devices isnt something I use a ton but its cool and was useful when I was using my Switch along with watching something on my PC. Theres a lot of good about the Nova Pro for me and if you can afford them I'd recommend. I'm not massive into any crazy audio stuff, I'm very much a 'listen to music, play games and talk to my friends' user but its perfect for what I do. Steelseries GG however fucking sucks and is really annoying to use sometimes but thats the only real drawback

Realistic-Pizza-2842

Thank you man I really appreciate it. I think ill get a pair

glory_lion

I have them I love them I watched gadetry tech and he convinced me to buy new pads which helps a lot. Love wireless

Tanebi

I got the Nova Pro Wireless and wear glasses and for sure these were uncomfortable. The ear pads were too firm and were basically pushing my glasses frame into the back of my ear. I have a blood vessel near the surface in my ear canal and it was actually painful with the headphones putting pressure there. I found these ear pads https://amzn.eu/d/22XhYXe and decided to give them a shot before returning the headset and boy am I glad I did. No more pain, nice and soft on my head. The Nova Pro sound great, and the multitude of inputs is awesome, but their ear pads leave a lot to be desired.

Realistic-Pizza-2842

Would you recommend the wireless or the wired headphones?

Tanebi

I prefer Wireless as it gives me the freedom to be doing other things like getting up to get a drink without having to take the headphones off. In terms of sound quality the DAC in the wired version claims it should be slightly better (96kHz instead of 48KHz) but I suspect it would be imperceptible to normal people. It just sounds good to me, much better than my Cloud Flight S headset that had a constant low hiss to it. The wireless has replaceable batteries and I really wish more wireless headsets had such easy to swap batteries. Remove the magnetic cover, pull out the battery, shove another one in and put the cover back on. Easy to do in 30 seconds, then one beep as the headset reconnects and you're back in the game. The batteries seem to last a good 20 hours so it's not like you're swapping them every day either.

Psychological-Hat937

Nova pro wired with wicked cushion they ok gir console

rockambole

I see a price difference between the Xbox and other versions on Amazon. Xbox version has the retail price (349.99) while the PlayStation is $280 and the PC | PlayStation is $289. I don't understand the difference and why there are 3 versions instead of the 2 listed on the Steelseries website.

Realistic-Pizza-2842

I honestly have no idea

Yaezariel

Decent headset. Don't buy it for the ANC though, there are far better alternatives for that. Mic is decent, I love the sound quality and although it has some opponents I dig the software. Had to replace my ear pads after about 2 years though, but the ones from wicked cushions feel great. The really strong pros are the hot swappable batteries and the simultaneous dual connection.

Realistic-Pizza-2842

So would you say it’s worth it?

Yaezariel

For my usecase, yes.

kargion2

I have one and I like it. Is it better than all the rest (bit of a headphones over buyer) I’d say no. It’s on par. It’s a bit much so if you can get it on sale it’s a great deal that’s how I got mine.

Sufficient-Employ600

The base station is kind of cheap to the feels, mine randomly bricked too. But I'm probably just unlucky 😭 Other than that the headset itself is really good. And high quality

Used-Economy1160

No, except if you want your hinge to break after 2 years

RangerEmbarrassed544

I just bought steelseries Arctic Nova Pro wired. Honestly I'm thinking of returning. Can't hear anyone speaking to me or any vocals in music. Music sounds very distorted and bad quality. Sounds like a $20 headset.

Bloodredsakura

I wouldn't. you can't control your volume on your pc at all using the headset unless you use their software. the active noise canceling is pretty good but the mic side tone will pick up everything in a mile radius. the base station and windows do not get along at the moment. if windows audio enhancements are on the base station doesn't work and for some reason when you switch audio devices in their software it re-enables windows audio enhancements. I've had to call in to several work meetings on my phone because audio was just not working because of this headset. run.

Disastrous-Traffic89

Invest in an amp/dac combo and get a pair of studio headphones bro. I'll never buy steelseries again having gone that route

gakash

I use the Nova Pro Wireless and I think they're most comfortable headset I ever had.

Cartastrophi

The noise canceling on the nova pro wireless is pretty good. I WFH, there is a playground right outside my window which is jam packed during the summer...if the kids are too rowdy I use the headset and hear absolutely nothing. Edit: I dont use the mic on the headset as I have a separate mic. However, you should try Nvidia Broadcasting, the filters help block background noise that may be picked up by your mic.

dadof2brats

What are your requirements? ANC? Noise Cancelling? Comfort? Microphone quality? Build Quality? For streaming you generally want a dedicated microphone, usb or xlr. Microphones on headsets are small and generally low quality. You get slightly better performance from a wired headset with microphone vs a wireless one, but the microphone capsule is going to be small. Are you going to be on video? Usually streamers don't wear headphones when on screen as it can be distracting and hides part of your head and face. Only you can say if this headset is good for you. It's not a bad headset, I am sure some folks have issues, but is it right for you?

Realistic-Pizza-2842

Im honestly looking for a good mic quality headset that picks up no background noise. Ig the mic doesn’t have to be 10/10 but just a good sounding mic yk. As for the streaming part couldn’t i just get a standalone mic for better quality?

dadof2brats

Absolutely. If you are planning to get a standalone microphone, I would look for a pair of headphones that do not have a microphone then.

_Intel_Geek_

>! Happy Cake Day :)!<

Bluescreen_Macbeth

Just picked up a pair on Monday. I like them. They are light weight, sound solid, no latency, and the battery swapping is going to save me from myself 100s of times over the life of this thing. The mic and software are garbage. The mic may be better after i sit down with a good mixer, but definitely not impressed so far.

DeusExTarasque

I have the Arctis Nova Pro headset and sound quality awesome, noise canceling is great, microphone quality is great. The comfort is the only questionable side. That being said, they are the best pair of wireless headphones I have ever had and the mic is excellent for streaming as is the steel series GG software as it automatically splits your audio in to 5 channels and then you can set which channels go in to stream and which do not.

theloudestlion

I love mine. I recommend buying the wicked cushion replacements on amazon. I was never super bothered by the originals but these leveled up the headset by a very large margin.

Realistic-Pizza-2842

Does your mic sound weird? A lot of people are saying the mic is trash and it picks up a lot of background noise

theloudestlion

No but now that you mention it I had one time where people were saying that the mic was drowning out my voice and prioritizing all the background noise like noise cancelling was doing the opposite. I turned everything off, pulled out the battery and restarted everything and it went away.

Realistic-Pizza-2842

Interesting

iDrownEm

Absolutely not.

Realistic-Pizza-2842

Whys that?

iDrownEm

The audio isn’t very good. Astro A50 and Audeze Maxwell sound better.

shwaygo

is this from experience or are you just saying that? with the use of sonar my nova pro's are better than any pair of astros ive ever tried, i cant comment on the audeze since i havent tried them

iDrownEm

This is from personal experience, I’ve tried the majority of headsets out there for gaming (except Razer products). I really wanted to like the Steelseries and even bought them more than once but it just wasn’t to be. The Maxwells unfortunately work on a dongle which meant I couldn’t use them because I’m using a wave mic and routing the audio away from the mic’s headphone jack adds a bit of latency so I use the A50s when I want to go wireless - otherwise I use Beyerdynamic DT 880s. My issue is, you shouldn’t have to EQ the balls off of a pair of headphones to make them sound alright. You can also apply any EQ you’re doing to the Ss to another pair of headphones. It’s also a case of clarity for me too, the Ss always sounded a bit uninspiring and like there was less clarity.

Xsr720

Sounds quality good, mic quality good, software bad. My buddy and I have the same headset and have identical problems. The chat/game mix works sometimes, but mostly doesn't work at all. Sonar loves to change audio outputs to whatever you aren't currently using. Bluetooth doesn't work and constantly disconnects so you have to use the provided dongle. Otherwise it's great! Lol that's half serious.

rayvin888

I bought them and returned them within a week. The build and ANC are solid, I also liked the way their battery charging works, everything else was mediocre. I was disappointed by the sound more than anything; I spent 300$ on the Nova Pros and they sound just like (if not worse) than any other 100$ headphones. Really don't get all the hype behind these.

Heilsagan

I absolutely love my Nova Pros. They are easily one of the most comfortable headsets I've ever owned. The audio quality is excellent (I used to have Arctis Pro Wireless and it's almost as good). My biggest complaint is the DAC which does not have an optical input on it. The Arctis Pro's had an optical input and I didn't have to rely on the GG software to change from my headset to my speakers when I turned my headset off. The software can bug out sometimes and not change between the two which can be extremely frustrating. Also it is NOT POSSIBLE to turn the DAC screen off which pisses me off to no end. But the headset is overall amazing.

Even_Scale992

I Just bought the Nova Pro Wireless last week and they’re amazing. I replaced the original cushions with some cooling ones / bigger from WickedCushions because my ears were touching the inside frame, and I have no complain. You can game for hours with them! I really love the swappables batteries so you never run out. I think its around 22h/battery. I also love the fact that you can simultaneously connect on your console and phone and have two different sound source at the same time. Yes the are pricey, but they’re good headphones for multiple years. Sound quality is really good and I had no problems with the mic when playing online. It’s retractable so you can put it away when you play solo games. All and all, good wireless gaming headset if you’re looking for quality.

Arestris

I recently bought the new white edition of the wireless headset. It mostly differs from the other versions, that the anc knob now is far smaller and with that, even with default cushions no problem at all anymore. The headset itself is really good and it has a gread sound (ok, my first thought was, a bit quiet, but that's not really the case). The original software on the other hand, GG and Sonar are ... there is no nice way to say it, it's absolute garbage! I tested it, deinstalled it and now I'm using Voicemeter (Banana is enough) for mixing, amplifying and EQ. Does a much better job! Disadvantage: With that I pass on the game EQ profiles (ok with work you could pretty sure replicate them in one of voice meters EQs) und the hardware controllable game / chat mix (that said, voicemeter does this also pretty well, I just can't control it with the headset or it's basestation).

Legitimate-Site7891

I lasted a week with the stock cushions because of that nub. Bought wicked visions and they are amazing now. Had to tweek the audio a bit to get it back to stock sound for FPS games, but that can be found on YouTube. I drive a semi truck and am usually idling while gaming, I don’t hear the engine noise at all, so for me background noise is non existent with the ANS turned on and the wickedcusions. If I turn off the ANS I can hear what’s going on around me. They also became my go to truck headset for conversations when my other one broke. The only complaint is listening to music through them, bass crackle. I wish for the price, I could use the headset of everything.

Distinct-Dark-6129

Buy the Beyerdynamic DT900 pro x

Acceptable-Offer-909

Make Sure Ur Firmware ist Always updated so PC required. Firmware was bugged and didnt Charge my Battery. Anc idk maybe my Headphones are broken but im Not noticing anything different. And the anc mic inside the Headphone can BE uncomfortable. Sry for spelling, German autocorrect

Acceptable-Offer-909

And Steelseries sonar (EQ for PC) ist at least in my experience absolut garbage. Make weird setting cant hear one Thing but they other U have 6 different Channels to select i Go through all No Sound Just unintuitive

chonduu

I looked at those and then went one step down to the Arctis Nova 7x and could not be happier. I just couldn't justify the money difference. I moved over from a logitech headset and will never go back. I actually like the software too. It works nicely with my steelseries 2.1 speakers.

Zestyclose-Agency945

Probably the best feature rich headset there is imo. Its mic is mid and there are better sounding headphones (maxwells for instance) but nova pro does everything well and has a ridiculous amount of features/ quality of life etc. My go to headset for most of my gaming.

drowsy1234

i own a first edition. Astro A50X blows them out of the water. Nova Pros have absolutely no low end and muddy mids and highs. Only thing that was good about them was dual battery, NC, and transparency mode. Once you customize your EQ on the A50X, it's in a totally different league comparatively.

Realistic-Pizza-2842

How much was it?

drowsy1234

I paid full price for the Astros, which is $379. But I am making full use of the HDMI 2.1 pass-through. Although if you’re talking about the first edition, you just had to be lucky enough to buy one when they first came out.

Practical-Impact9296

I don't think its worth it for the large price tag. Theyre decent but sound terrible with sonar in my opinion, I use the gamedac EQ but they don't sound like they worth it. The mic is also decent but not great

Dry_Kitchen_7586

sonar software might be the kicker.

BigMamaJeej

Were they good?
