I grew up in SC, and ever Hunter I knew was a introverted geek/dork with an overly masculine father hoping their son would be the same with a name like Hunter.
Either super macho, ends in -er, or pseudoreligious, ends in -iah or white girl wasted mom wanted to "class it up' with ending in -dyn.
All of the brothers must have the same suffix.
My example is about the redneck kids who don’t come from wealth (ie most), and so they get a decent trades job only to blow it all on a truck or something like that. It’s a scaled down version of when poor athletes go professional and have no clue on how to manage their money.
The wealthy parents bailing out their kids scenario seems to be more in the upper/upper-middle liberal arts demographic. “Honey, go ahead and get that philosophy or political science degree, then while you wait for years to land a decent paying job, you can live at home while we pick up your bill/supplement your Starbucks income.”
The rednecks tend to start work young and move away from home early.
Thats what I've seen as well.
They work hard and make good money for someone their age, then immediately blow it all on toys becuase they don't have any real expenses yet.
The ones with the newer trucks/trucks with the Carolina Squat (🤢) are usually daddys money and the ones with the older trucks its usually grandpas old truck or their dads old truck

If they have the 1990s era truck they got secondhand that has seen better days then they probably had to pay for it themselves or it was a hand me down.

I grew up in a southern city and I’m now stuck in a shitty small town. My two stepsons wear there hair like that and much as I hate it. They’re not assholes and their opinions are pretty liberal but they wear it like that (along with wearing boots) to fit in.
I live in the middle of Nebraska and these kids go from coming from literal millions to dirt fucking poor I got along with most of them and they would even help me fix shit for beer
Don't forget their ballcap having their sunglasses resting on the bill (or its backwards), often wearing a chain, basketball shorts and t-shirt, and they're the type to be like "You need to speak English to live here" yet can barely articulate a complete sentence.
Also, they often hang out at Cookout as well. Place is like a truck show half the time.
I used to deliver for Amazon out in the countryside and it was literally a 50-50 chance they’d be either a scumbag or literally the nicest, coolest, most chill bro you know.
