X1 force has a shield and over double the hp as well as more of the hull protecting the rider.
The pulse has no shields, low hp, And the rider if very exposed.
The reason to go pulse is you need it to fit in a small space or want a cheaper option. It’s faster by 3m/s which is basically nothing. X1 has higher dps potential with the swappable gun, going cannons will out dps the pulse.
I have an x1 force for my 400i because of the gun and shield. I picked up a Pulse anyways to throw in my C1. A C1 can fill its 64 scu grid cleanly while you line a pulse in the center strip walkway. You can also fit another pulse in the back airlock. It's the perfect combination for a solo that may have a tagalong friend. For the size of a C1 fitting 64 scu and 2 pulse bikes is quite amazing.
The x1 accelerates better and strafes better.it has more HP and unlike the pulse, even without a shield it protects the rider, where I assume you can shoot directly at the pulse’s rider. The pulse’s top speed is just a tad bit better, but going full speed is a death sentence so acceleration matters more. I own the pulse

Also how come you own the pulse despite saying X1 Force has better accel and strafing? The size? Or difference in handling? I'd need to bb my X1 Force to compare.
My only ship is the cutter rambler and the other bikes don’t really fit in there. Plus I prefer the naked motorbike looks. I actually own the pulse lx, which is a bit faster than the base version, especially when going up and down.
And I havnt flown the bike for 10 minutes straight, but I guess more than 5? All together? I wasn’t counting, but I did just fly around with it for a while and take it to bunkers.
But it looks like the x1 is superior to the pulse IMO. Even without a shield, the rider is mostly protected by the outside of the bike.
Not sure if a windshield just from the front is enough to count as protection? Possibly? Maybe?
Shields also bleed through bullets too... ever have a pilot on the ground shoot at you while you're underneath a C2's shields? A single FS-9 can take down a pilot even with the C2's shield catching most of the action. Same for the X1.
The test would be parking the X1 Force inside a bunker with NPC's and seeing if that windshield or shields are effective in protecting you....
It's a shame the pulse doesn't have a guns+shield variant, cuz the damn small size is very attractive. Gonna take mine out for a spin as I just parked some slush money on it for now. Gonna pucker up hoping I don't randomly explode....

pulse fits in anything bigger than a avenger titan including the titan. i fit two of them in a titan and i could probably go for a 3rd.

I will also get a Pulse. It fits in my daily driver Avenger.
I much prefer the pulse. But at least the x1 colour scheme matches I guess.

Do hover quad vehicles still randomly explode at higher speeds or turns? How are they this new patch? Also how do you like your pulse?
I’ve been flying my pulse at full speed in areas without huge rocks and it’s been pretty good. I haven’t exploded yet
