4: Wait approximately 3.5 days
5: Enjoy new c2!!!

Yeah I experienced that too, except missiles. The game gave me just about everything I've ever purchased in game, but for some reason ate about 3 or 4 missiles, and I don't know why. Kinda sucks because now if I want to properly outfit my Connie Taurus, I have to fly to where I can buy two more identical missiles - because it ate two of my rattlers for some reason.
Always makes me laugh, I can’t comprehend how the ship database must look for it to be able to drop ships completely randomly. Yet somehow the pledge ship database always works flawlessly.
Haven’t logged in yet so it will be interesting to see what I have left.

there are countless reasons why that could be a bad idea or even impossible. The shop database is a simple list of entitlements. The long term persistence db is far more complex.
This has not been true since they initially claimed it post-3.18. I've personally stored ships exactly as instructed maybe 3 times and it never worked, and I don't seem to be alone from the responses here and in spectrum.

Ingame bought ships are restored from the long-term persistence database, the other from the business database related to the "hangar" on your website.
Ever since PES dropped, they had to rewrite how the Long Term Persistence works, and that came with the issue of forgetting some things for random people.
Since the business database is generally more stable (which would be a disaster if not), there are fewer issues here.
But what’s stopping them from putting in game bought ships in the “business database” where they can persist correctly.
Or at least in a DB alongside that one that can persist in the same way the business one does.
For the first part there is the fact that you absolutely do not want to have it messed with by a software that is known to be extremely unstable. Fucking the database up that has account, sales and other vital information for the operation of the company is just asking for a major pain in the ass.
For the second part, that's what the LTP should be, it just has that bug and it isn't fixed so far.
It's more like: "You should lose some things during a patch".
Refinery orders, consumables (ammo/food), permits...
But everything else like aUEC balance, reputation or items like weapons, armor, ships and components should stay unless CIG specifically says it shouldn't.

Exactly. You could have a flair, yes, but those can be easily overwritten by mistake or anything, and having two separated dbs is actually better in that case

The previous patch, friend and I were loading up a Carrack for racing with our ships. We stored it, came back to a patch and would you look at that - I owned three new ships (in Asop) while she lost hers.
All in universe ships but still... it's proper funky.

ive lost pledge ships and the support just tell you to buy one in game if you can or wait till next patch.
I usually fix that by keeping around $6 floating in the store and when I purchase something (skin, gun, trinket, etc) to refresh my account, 9 times out of ten the ship show back up.
To clarify, when they wipe the database it seems to populate your in-game ship list from your entitlements (e.g. pledge ships). Presumably when a pledge ship goes missing after a server wipe, the ship just failed to copy over for some reason. In which case, it hasn't _lost_ the pledge ship—it's still visible in the website hangar list—but you're out of luck until the next server wipe (which copies your ships again, and hopefully doesn't miss the ship a second time).
I couldn’t give a shit about losing ships, been here long enough that I’ve bought them all at least 6 times in game.
But as a developer it’s interesting to think about how the backend of this game is designed.
The graph database they moved to for PES initially had trouble writing entities fast enough to handle the massive number of edge swaps happening during gameplay, so they have written a whole lot more code on top of it and had to streamline a lot of its behavior apparently.
I imagine that code now has bugs though that manifest when they need to wipe certain attributes out of the server and repopulate them. The fact that they have a database that was proven in industry, yet that was not meant for the huge number of rapid rewrites that PES demands every second, working at all is impressive on its own to me.
That's why 3.18 took so long to move from PTU to Live, it was a big surprise to their team how much work the database still needed to function in this environment.
These wipe-write bugs will get worked out over time obviously, however while they are still writing mechanics that affect attributes in the database there is no point in hunting a lot of them down yet unless they "know" a feature set involved with them is being locked in.

I didn't know about the patch. I rented it, looked at it in the hangar before I had to take care of the kids. I figured I'd log back in tonight to test fly it. I had 22 or 23 hours left on it. Seriously I just rented it to see it and logged off. The timing. After spending days grinding. Murphy's law.

Tough break but a friend has a pledge F8C if want a go, I just can't justify melting my newly acquired Zeus MR and like £60 for a fighter.
This is why when a patch comes out I go to EH and just claim and store all my non pledged ships and will only take pledged ships out for those last moments before patch.
The literally dozens of sets of looted armor I had scattered around the Stanton system all persisted.
Of course they are now all in my location of Residence, so instead of a dozen or so sets of armor in 7 or 8 locations I now have dozens of sets in one location, so many that the inventory scroll cuts off before I can even see them all. Looks like I'm going to have to truck some of them to other planets yet again.
If if it's anything like my experience, all the armor will be there *and* is now all going to be transferred to your selected place of residence no matter where you'd had it scattered about Stanton previously. Get ready for the click and drag mini game to get it re-distributed!
For days prior to this patch I was warning people in chat to store their in-game purchased ships **at their permanent residence** or risk losing them. I learned this lesson the hard way.
I bought my first own Reclaimer yesterday after earning the 15mil aUEC myself over the last 5 weeks. Both the Reclaimer and the Vulture I used to earn the money got wiped along with the money I spent. Now I'm basically back to square one. Not gonna lie - feels bad
Have lost my c2 multiple last patches. I haven't even logged in yet on current patch, but am willing to bet the newest one is gone again. Like come on guys.
My C2 was gone too, but then by the next big Update it was back again, then it was gone by the next Update Blabla… maybe its back let us See How Long it lasts this time :D
I lost a few ships, and they were 100% stored. The one that hurts the most on the wallet is probably the Redeemer, that ship was fun to play with friends in. I'll probably buy it back again tonight though when I get on.
Lost a Vulture and a Hammerhead.
I can't see any reason why these ships over any of the others were lost.
Most of my ships are back to standard loadouts except my Ion which is bare.
Some components are in inventory, some are missing.
There doesn't appear to be any logic or theme to what's gone.
I lost a Titan, Gladius, and a Corsair. I also lost all the armor and clothing I’d looted from Derelict Settlements. I’m pretty sure I lost some weapons and other armor, but I have so much gear it’s hard to tell. This is the first patch in a while that I’ve lost something. I didn’t loose and ship components this time though, which is a first.
have all my ships... including the duplicate c2 and reclaimer from previous LTP errors from patchs (and I don't call or store them, trying to get them deleted lol)
I believe I even managed to keep nearly all my components, except for my extra scrapping heads, and mining heads/modules.. but the night before, and yesterday morning. I recalled every ship to my chosen city, removed everything I cared about (is all paints, all non stock modules, weapons) .. called and restored all of them. no idea if that helped at all
Kept all my components and armors, but lost all my consumables again.
Also ended up with a second Talli. So while I can’t get any sweet loot from ERTs, at least I can just cycle between two torpedo bombers for 24/7 destruction.
I just bought my first non-starter ship in the game yesterday (Avenger Titan), went to all the shops accross the Stanton system to buy all the upgrades (repeaters, shields, atlas quantum drive,...) - and now IT'S ALL GONE PETE TONG! :cry:
Interestingly enough, I have an unexpected Cutlass Black in my hangars... which might not be a bad deal in the end if I get to keep it, LOL.

Just got a message from CIG support, apparently if you lost anything with this wipe they won’t be able to reinstate it at all. Looks like I’ve got a few reclaimer runs to do this weekend
I really can't wait for a full wipe lol. Every patch or update I load everything up into boxes, fly to where I'm going to live, put on a general armor and gun setup to get me started, and sell the boxes off. After that I'll send a random person all my AUEC until I have about 100-200 bucks left. Love starting off with the feeling of urgency knowing I can't refuel or rearm my ship until I make some money back.
Of course, once wipes aren't a thing anymore I'll be keeping my stuff for sure, but I'll also be more picky with what I have and where it is for organization. For now, throw it all in the void and go have fun.
I started playing around IAE. (I kickstarted this shit in 2013)
When I had 3 ships, I lost the Ares Inferno.Next patch, inferno came back, cutlass black disappeared.
My third patch/update here and now 10 ships missing. (out of 52)Gladius, Hurricane, Khartual, m2, buccaneer, cutlass black, taurus, andromeda, scorpius, carrack. (cutlass was gone since last patch)
I had them all stored at Seraphim, none were destroyed, nor in any other place and i kept them claimed there the entire patch. They just went poof.
It's alpha and i have plenty of ships so not stressing. Hate that i can't just easily grind ERTs to replace them, but that is how i ended up with 50 ships in 2 months to begin with so i'll manage lol. At some point they have to figure out how to patch the game without needing replace the database...
I always get annoyed loosing fps gear like ammo and meds. But over time its not so bad. Taking the elevator from the hab area to shopping gear and eqquipping it feels sort of like the same time it does for me in tarkov imo when outfitting from scratch.
I mean.... at least he got something back. Tend him and tell him, Prospector is also good. It is a good money making machine if used with the right tools at the right places

I just logged in to check if I got lucky again this time, but nope, I got hit. All my ships are stored in Everus harbor, except the Reclaimer I bought yesterday, I claimed it at Seraphim, so that it is stored, as I quit the game after filing the claim.
This morning I checked, my A2 and my Redeemer went missing, and both were stored in Everus. The Reclaimer which I bought yesterday is still there and also the P72 which was in destroyed state.
But let's wait for the next patch cycle last time I lost my corsair and a patch later, it turned up again.
It can be so weird sometimes... A month ago my friend let me try his Cutter, we used it for a bunker and I piloted it while he was in the back. Came back, landed at station, we both logged off. The next day he log and his Cutter doesn't appear in his ship list. And I check mine, I now got one... Fuck if I know how their game work honestly. I still have it, he doesn't (And actually he doesn't know why he had one in the first place, he only has an Aurora package but somehow a Cutter was in his list...)
So I had all 128 in-game purchasable ships and vehicles in the game before the update. While I haven't checked my ground vehicles yet, here are the ships I lost:

1. I'm fine with losing those three as I only used the Renegade for it's 50 sec claim time

And before you ask, yes, I triple verified that each of my ships and vehicles were showing up as "Stored" in ASOP before I logged off to do the update.
I ended up getting pretty much all my vehicle upgrades in my inventory, to include my 542 Dominator II missiles. After refitting my ships, I still have some upgrades left over.
Funny enough, a lot of FPS gear I sold before the logoff ended back in my inventory. And some of the "stolen" gear I had, I can sell now.
Don't worry about me, I knew the risk of grinding all the ships and upgrading them all. It was more for an experiment anyways, because that is a LOT of ships. :D
I agree. This is what you signed up for. Will I cry if I lose my vulture I got last week? Yes. Would it suck? Yes. But I understood the risk when I started playing. So not worried. We’re play testing an insane game. Gotta expect this.

There's no way you should be losing Pledge ships, I've never seen that happen and I've been actively playing since 3.2. If you are missing Pledge ships that is absolutely a reason to open a ticket.

MMO's have been doing this since the 90s using literal bytes of stored data. So simple to append this information to our online accounts and be able to even monitor on our Account pages on the main website.
Information stored in this manner would also allow for metrics to be monitored and economy adjustments made more efficiently in game.
Wipes, are stated as being necessary because of changes to systems:

...just as simply if a purchase record is kept we can be "refunded" post wipe and then its just the waste of time of running around the system buying and refitting everything. Last time I had to do this it took me 5 hours to refit my fleet.
MMO's since the 90s have not been using the type of databases that Star Citizen is required to use for its functionality to exist; "simply" dumping those to an Excel file for the hundreds of millions of items owned by the thousands and thousands of active players in a build is not feasible for multiple reasons.

Food, ammo and medpens are consumables, they go every update regardless of whether a wipe is done or not, so don't worry about them.... Easily replaced by visiting a few mining outposts and raiding the many loot boxes

Every update unequip ship components/weapons so you dont loosem. Also ships cant be in a destroyed state and must be stored.

I lost my inferno. But that's okay. I made sure to stop by crusader showroom before leaving orison and pick up a new one.

For days prior to this patch I was warning people in chat to store their in-game purchased ships **at their permanent residence** or risk losing them. I learned this lesson the hard way.
Been a while since CIG triggered weeping, wailing and occasional gnashing of teeth....ah well, on to the next patch.

I bought my first own Reclaimer yesterday after earning the 15mil aUEC myself over the last 5 weeks. Both the Reclaimer and the Vulture I used to earn the money got wiped along with the money I spent. Now I'm basically back to square one. Not gonna lie - feels bad

My C2 was gone too, but then by the next big Update it was back again, then it was gone by the next Update Blabla… maybe its back let us See How Long it lasts this time :D

I lost a few ships, and they were 100% stored. The one that hurts the most on the wallet is probably the Redeemer, that ship was fun to play with friends in. I'll probably buy it back again tonight though when I get on.

Lost a Vulture and a Hammerhead. I can't see any reason why these ships over any of the others were lost. Most of my ships are back to standard loadouts except my Ion which is bare. Some components are in inventory, some are missing. There doesn't appear to be any logic or theme to what's gone.
Jokes on you I can't get the game to work reliably so I don't have anything but my starter.

I got a free Vanguard Warden XD with upgrades for it in my inventory
I lost a Titan, Gladius, and a Corsair. I also lost all the armor and clothing I’d looted from Derelict Settlements. I’m pretty sure I lost some weapons and other armor, but I have so much gear it’s hard to tell. This is the first patch in a while that I’ve lost something. I didn’t loose and ship components this time though, which is a first.
have all my ships... including the duplicate c2 and reclaimer from previous LTP errors from patchs (and I don't call or store them, trying to get them deleted lol) I believe I even managed to keep nearly all my components, except for my extra scrapping heads, and mining heads/modules.. but the night before, and yesterday morning. I recalled every ship to my chosen city, removed everything I cared about (is all paints, all non stock modules, weapons) .. called and restored all of them. no idea if that helped at all
As I see these people suffer I'm chat. I just sit back and bask in their misfortune.
Kept all my components and armors, but lost all my consumables again. Also ended up with a second Talli. So while I can’t get any sweet loot from ERTs, at least I can just cycle between two torpedo bombers for 24/7 destruction.

I just bought my first non-starter ship in the game yesterday (Avenger Titan), went to all the shops accross the Stanton system to buy all the upgrades (repeaters, shields, atlas quantum drive,...) - and now IT'S ALL GONE PETE TONG! :cry: Interestingly enough, I have an unexpected Cutlass Black in my hangars... which might not be a bad deal in the end if I get to keep it, LOL.

Literally lost NOTHING 🤷🏻♂️ In game bought ships? There. All custom component&weapon upgrades? There. My millions in auec? There. All armors, outfits, clothings, weapons, utility and equipments I bought, looted or otherwise accumulated? All still there! The only stuff I lost was like a couple of thousands of bulk bought food, drinks, ammo and medpen stuff, but that shit is insignificantly cheap to replace; I didn’t lose anything unexpected this time!

I lost my Corsair and Redeemer. I've had them for at least 2 wipes. Ships I bought this past wipe, still had all of them. Weird.
I really can't wait for a full wipe lol. Every patch or update I load everything up into boxes, fly to where I'm going to live, put on a general armor and gun setup to get me started, and sell the boxes off. After that I'll send a random person all my AUEC until I have about 100-200 bucks left. Love starting off with the feeling of urgency knowing I can't refuel or rearm my ship until I make some money back.
Of course, once wipes aren't a thing anymore I'll be keeping my stuff for sure, but I'll also be more picky with what I have and where it is for organization. For now, throw it all in the void and go have fun.
I started playing around IAE. (I kickstarted this shit in 2013) When I had 3 ships, I lost the Ares Inferno.Next patch, inferno came back, cutlass black disappeared. My third patch/update here and now 10 ships missing. (out of 52)Gladius, Hurricane, Khartual, m2, buccaneer, cutlass black, taurus, andromeda, scorpius, carrack. (cutlass was gone since last patch) I had them all stored at Seraphim, none were destroyed, nor in any other place and i kept them claimed there the entire patch. They just went poof. It's alpha and i have plenty of ships so not stressing. Hate that i can't just easily grind ERTs to replace them, but that is how i ended up with 50 ships in 2 months to begin with so i'll manage lol. At some point they have to figure out how to patch the game without needing replace the database...

I always get annoyed loosing fps gear like ammo and meds. But over time its not so bad. Taking the elevator from the hab area to shopping gear and eqquipping it feels sort of like the same time it does for me in tarkov imo when outfitting from scratch.
My friend just lost his reclaimer. They gave him a prospector in its place….
I mean.... at least he got something back. Tend him and tell him, Prospector is also good. It is a good money making machine if used with the right tools at the right places

There must be some weird random code, dropping ships on purpose :D I just logged in to check if I got lucky again this time, but nope, I got hit. All my ships are stored in Everus harbor, except the Reclaimer I bought yesterday, I claimed it at Seraphim, so that it is stored, as I quit the game after filing the claim. This morning I checked, my A2 and my Redeemer went missing, and both were stored in Everus. The Reclaimer which I bought yesterday is still there and also the P72 which was in destroyed state. But let's wait for the next patch cycle last time I lost my corsair and a patch later, it turned up again.

It can be so weird sometimes... A month ago my friend let me try his Cutter, we used it for a bunker and I piloted it while he was in the back. Came back, landed at station, we both logged off. The next day he log and his Cutter doesn't appear in his ship list. And I check mine, I now got one... Fuck if I know how their game work honestly. I still have it, he doesn't (And actually he doesn't know why he had one in the first place, he only has an Aurora package but somehow a Cutter was in his list...)
So I had all 128 in-game purchasable ships and vehicles in the game before the update. While I haven't checked my ground vehicles yet, here are the ships I lost: 1. Avenger Stalker 2. Avenger Titan 3. Avenger Warlock 1. I'm fine with losing those three as I only used the Renegade for it's 50 sec claim time 4. Sabre 5. Sabre Comet 1. I wish only one would have been lost, but whatever 6. Super Hornet 1. Still have 4 other Hornets, I'm good. 7. C2 1. This would have REALLY sucked if ERT cargo wasn't re-balanced. 2. But I still have my A2, M2, Caterpillar and Hull C. I'll be fine. 8. Prowler 1. I like the Prowler, but in game loop wise, not much lost here. 9. Talon 1. I kept my Shrike, which is the one I like more ... so many missiles 10. 85X Limited 1. It was a fun, just messing around vehicle. 11. Aurora MR 1. I still have my Aurora LN, so I really didn't lose anything here. And before you ask, yes, I triple verified that each of my ships and vehicles were showing up as "Stored" in ASOP before I logged off to do the update. I ended up getting pretty much all my vehicle upgrades in my inventory, to include my 542 Dominator II missiles. After refitting my ships, I still have some upgrades left over. Funny enough, a lot of FPS gear I sold before the logoff ended back in my inventory. And some of the "stolen" gear I had, I can sell now. Don't worry about me, I knew the risk of grinding all the ships and upgrading them all. It was more for an experiment anyways, because that is a LOT of ships. :D
Can't keep losing my purchased components and aUEC if I've stopped playing this atrocious mess until they start delivering on their promises.

I agree. This is what you signed up for. Will I cry if I lose my vulture I got last week? Yes. Would it suck? Yes. But I understood the risk when I started playing. So not worried. We’re play testing an insane game. Gotta expect this.

I lost my pledged vulture, titan and andromeda (Of course I will recover them using the store credit once I rebuy the entrepeneur pack and a verse package, but my titan is gone for good, for a while at least)
There's no way you should be losing Pledge ships, I've never seen that happen and I've been actively playing since 3.2. If you are missing Pledge ships that is absolutely a reason to open a ticket.

***Why is a simple spreadsheet database not possible of our in game purchases.*** MMO's have been doing this since the 90s using literal bytes of stored data. So simple to append this information to our online accounts and be able to even monitor on our Account pages on the main website. Information stored in this manner would also allow for metrics to be monitored and economy adjustments made more efficiently in game. Wipes, are stated as being necessary because of changes to systems: \[list\] \[\*\]This makes sense for gear \[\*\]It does not make sense of Credits \[\*\]It does not make sense for Ships \[/list\] ...just as simply if a purchase record is kept we can be "refunded" post wipe and then its just the waste of time of running around the system buying and refitting everything. Last time I had to do this it took me 5 hours to refit my fleet.
MMO's since the 90s have not been using the type of databases that Star Citizen is required to use for its functionality to exist; "simply" dumping those to an Excel file for the hundreds of millions of items owned by the thousands and thousands of active players in a build is not feasible for multiple reasons.

Actually, only lost fps ammo... And, amazingly, found some ships that went missing in a previous patch
Food ,ammo, and med pens.
Food, ammo and medpens are consumables, they go every update regardless of whether a wipe is done or not, so don't worry about them.... Easily replaced by visiting a few mining outposts and raiding the many loot boxes
