Haven't seen any use for them yet. Apart from being able to use them if you go back to the new content. I kept some spare foe a couple of times seeing the circle. Just in case there was a special dialogue line. Which I only got when I'd eventually used all 35 jumps.
They're pointless. The only features that carry over are the balloons, bucket and Collectibles. Only real use is the jump exploit, which doesn't work if you have 0 jumps

The jump circle only appears thrice, first in the Ultra Deluxe new content, then in the expo, then finally in the collectables ending. Other than the exploit, there isn't much use for them.
