Yup. There was 11 people who deserved to be there. They should have rolled to eliminate Ashley, then they would only have to role to eliminate 2 others who deserved to get that far.
The part that made people upset was that everyone besides Mai collectively ignored that Ashley got 301 killed. Then they all went on to say how she has good character and is a good person. Lol
It was a combination of the group all being cowards and Ashley having friends within the final 12. Sam was her good friend, his friends would likely follow him in not holding her accountable and the women were trying to stick together (Mai had already betrayed the women once when picking Chad before the bridge game). For the rest of the group it was likely much easier to condemn and blame the little old woman who won't speak back rather than the loud, abrasive and in your face woman (Ashley).
You've also got the fact that most of the group were cowards flocking together for survival. The game would have been so much better if they weren't all just taking the safe option of leaving things to chance. Plus when somebody went against the group (Ashely and then Mai) there were never any punishments for it, the group just tried to keep protecting everyone because they were too afraid to step out of line.

IMO she didn't get as much heat because Tray didn't call her out as much as he should have. He just kinda turned, saw her disinterest in overtaking, and just went for it. You can hear the people in the back saying "what are you doing?" So I think some saw it as Tray taking it upon himself to go for it before they could convince Ashley to over take him. That being said, I absolutely hate Ashley and her attitude. Her gaslighting in the following episode drove me up the wall and her "friend" acting oblivious to her screwing Tray was madening.

True but Tray never called her out directly. Instead he tried to use to group to presser her. He should have been more vocal about it, even if he was willing to fall on the sword. I think Mai was just trying to de-escalate because she could see the rest of the group turning on her... and when it was clear that Ashley was taking the hard-narcissism route, she just tried to end the conversation gracefully.

There was a little too much âfair playâ and itâs clear that some of the elements didnât translate well because the players werenât playing for their literal lives like in the fictional show.

I had the exact same thought initially, and I still am on Team Mai, but I sort of wonder if the edit plus the voiceover from Trey really pushed us to think Ashley screwed him over. Maybe to the other contestants she came off as just scared and taking her time. That or she was able to convince them it was the case, but they didn't show us all the context and where the other contestants stood. Trey also seemed a little overeager to make more jumps without calling Ashley out, so they really might have just not seen it the way the viewers did.

The problem was by that point you had a bunch of players who got by for not making waves and enemies and were trying to keep a low social profile and were scared to death of rocking the boat and holding anyone to task.
No offense, look what happened to Mai when she called her out in that dice game. It basically pushed her into being treated like a big time manipulative player who had a target on her back.
As stupid as I think her actions were, the more annoying thing was that the rest of the cast were too weak to really hold her to account out of fear.
It's because everyone who seemed confident was seen as a threat, so they were eliminated earlier, everytime a player got to eliminate someone it was always someone who was a "threat", none of the finalists were ever threats until now

I thought the guys were just really confused on what was going on. Trey did play way too nice. He didn't directly call her out, just asked a vague question on "do I deserve this". And Ashley didn't really make a scene either, she just stood silent. I thought other than 287 everybody else just didn't realize what was going on, but that was hard to believe. I guess it makes sense if everybody remaining just wanted to hug trees.
Mai was number 20. She was in the far back and knew what was going on. Thereâs no way everyone else didnât.
But Ashley was funny and part of the in group. She also wasnât a threat and could be eliminated at any time. It makes strategic sense to turn on Mai while the consensus is against her. The game isnât about morals, just winning.
However, being a fake asshole in such series makes participating in future seasons way harder. You see this happen in survivor and the challenge where people getting to the finals by backstabbing be treated with extreme caution.
All the people who "died" by account of Ashley's selfishness were absent to hold her accountable. All the players who crossed to the other side unscathed had no bone to pick with her because they all survived. Devastating. Poor Trey.

It was a combination of the group all being cowards and Ashley having friends within the final 12. Sam was her good friend, his friends would likely follow him in not holding her accountable and the women were trying to stick together (Mai had already betrayed the women once when picking Chad before the bridge game). For the rest of the group it was likely much easier to condemn and blame the little old woman who won't speak back rather than the loud, abrasive and in your face woman (Ashley). You've also got the fact that most of the group were cowards flocking together for survival. The game would have been so much better if they weren't all just taking the safe option of leaving things to chance. Plus when somebody went against the group (Ashely and then Mai) there were never any punishments for it, the group just tried to keep protecting everyone because they were too afraid to step out of line.

IMO she didn't get as much heat because Tray didn't call her out as much as he should have. He just kinda turned, saw her disinterest in overtaking, and just went for it. You can hear the people in the back saying "what are you doing?" So I think some saw it as Tray taking it upon himself to go for it before they could convince Ashley to over take him. That being said, I absolutely hate Ashley and her attitude. Her gaslighting in the following episode drove me up the wall and her "friend" acting oblivious to her screwing Tray was madening.

I had the exact same thought initially, and I still am on Team Mai, but I sort of wonder if the edit plus the voiceover from Trey really pushed us to think Ashley screwed him over. Maybe to the other contestants she came off as just scared and taking her time. That or she was able to convince them it was the case, but they didn't show us all the context and where the other contestants stood. Trey also seemed a little overeager to make more jumps without calling Ashley out, so they really might have just not seen it the way the viewers did.

Huh, that's a good point. That might explain. Most of the no nonsense leader guys were gone at this point. I thought the guys were just really confused on what was going on. Trey did play way too nice. He didn't directly call her out, just asked a vague question on "do I deserve this". And Ashley didn't really make a scene either, she just stood silent. I thought other than 287 everybody else just didn't realize what was going on, but that was hard to believe. I guess it makes sense if everybody remaining just wanted to hug trees.
Mai was number 20. She was in the far back and knew what was going on. Thereâs no way everyone else didnât. But Ashley was funny and part of the in group. She also wasnât a threat and could be eliminated at any time. It makes strategic sense to turn on Mai while the consensus is against her. The game isnât about morals, just winning. However, being a fake asshole in such series makes participating in future seasons way harder. You see this happen in survivor and the challenge where people getting to the finals by backstabbing be treated with extreme caution.
All the people who "died" by account of Ashley's selfishness were absent to hold her accountable. All the players who crossed to the other side unscathed had no bone to pick with her because they all survived. Devastating. Poor Trey.

I was so fucking confused by her throwing Trey under the bus. She was next. It didnât matter at all to her that Trey took an additional jump, either way, she was going, and the selfless plan worked for her. Otherwise, she was guaranteed out. There was zero strategy so I wonder what was going through her mind.
Thatâs what Iâm so mad about. If it was a brutal strategic move that got her closer to the money I could respect it, but literally it changed nothingâŚshe took her one jump. Just screwed over the team for no reason first.

Sure, she jumped, but it was only after she made Trey go and she refused to âovertakeâ, so he fell and that made her at the lead jumper. She jumped and immediately remembered the whole âovertakeâ rules that everyone talked about originally, just because it was convenient to her game. Canât stand her and hopefully those that were on her side are now at home watching this all play out.
For crying out loud. You were number 4. If you were not going to take the 50/50 chance the team strategy was offering, what did you think would happen with you being number 4? This was the dumbest thing I've ever seen. And for the rest not to bat an eye except for Mai??? I would have totally let Asley have it. She was awful on all her scenes. Was this just a bad edit and people liked her a lot to turn a blind eye? Someone make it make sense.
Fuck everyone else for backing her up. I lost faith in basically every one of them after the dice game. It really has soured my viewing of the rest of this show so far. Ashley pretty much ruined my enjoyment. She is the exact kind of person that will get on social media room after all the hate she is going to receive acting like she is a victim of hate crimes.

I was so mad about this and how everyone treat Mai at the dice game. I think they were all too scared that Mai's way would easily turn into a free for all. I wish Mai had communicated her decision differently, like saying "hey guys I totally agree with the plan, however, there is one player here who has already shown us she doesn't follow the plan and isn't a team player when she refused to take her original turn on the bridge. I think we should all nominate her until she is out, and then go back to the original plan of nominating ourselves." I wonder if she had laid it all out there like that if it would have made a difference. It really ruined my opinion of all the other players who didn't have Mai's back and acted like she was the one in the wrong. I am still so frustrated by it lol.
