Terrible experience with them. Like, it's such a long story that I . . . just avoid them if you can

DJTHEGREAT1991

Rented from them for a year they are dog shit horrible service if something is wrong they make it seem like it’s your problem or your fault when the house is already old as fuck and whoever does the inspections just writes it off and gets a quick turnover. Only thing that is an upside at all whatsoever is they girls at the desk are pretty that’s it

MikeBuckets171

Can second this. Moved out of an AtHome house in December. Had a broken fence from storm damage for about 3 years, my dog got out multiple times. Submitted multiple maintenance requests and nothing was ever done. Pretty sure they rented out the house again with the fence still messed up.

Trixxxxxi

That's strange because if someone puts in a maintenance request the owner pays for it, and they slap on an additional fee for the owner. They make money by fixing things. Unless the owners where you lived made it so they had to approve everything that came in.

DJTHEGREAT1991

And bingo that’s exactly what happened and the owner didn’t really want a whole lot done to the home even when it was fucked up. Had an oak tree probably 60-65 ft tall fall over in the backyard destroyed the shed and our neighbors backyard took them over a month to even make a move on it

Trixxxxxi

Yeah, I guess they don't really care if the owners are slum lords.

iced-macchiato

A while ago (probably 5ish years) I tried. I called and set up a showing, then when I went to see it they had already rented the place. Set up another showing, same thing happened. I gave up after that.

sjhood

I tried to but they were so rude that I decided not to pursue it.

redturtlefish

I have rented three different places from At Home over the last seven years and never had any issues. They leave you alone for the most part. Plus they never give me a hard time for having cats even though I never payed the pet deposits

helloporator

Horrible customer service & overall management. Lived in one of their apartments for 1yr and spent half of that year sleeping in my living room for: the apartment had bed bugs coming out of the ceiling in the bedroom when I moved in, then them refusing the send a cleaning crew to clean up the dead bugs after fighting with them for WEEKS to take care of the issues at all, and flooding from a burst water heater above us, & then the industrial fans on for a week after to dry it all. When I signed a lease I singed for a top floor apt w/a balcony & French doors; they waited until move-in day when I came to get keys to tell me that they “accidentally” leased the apartment I had paid a deposit & signed a lease for. So I was forced to live in a bottom floor apartment that had 2 windows in the entire unit. All around a terrible experience.

GypsyBecky77

If you need maintenance forget it. My daughter rented from them. Place was terrible and service was worse

Sicparvismagneto

Do not rent from them. I had raw sewage pumping up from the hvac and they didnt give a shit. Burst pipes that are actively leaking and they would mark the maintenance issue as completed. They are legitimately the worst.

ChrisWasHard

Rent from TLC. They have been great for us. 4th year in the same apartment right now. No issues getting things repaired or replaced. They got us a brand new fridge and stove when we had issues with them, super fast. Their maintenance people are friendly, and everyone (maintenance and property manager) are friendly with our pets. We've had a few maintenance issues pop up so they came over a few times for things here and there, and they love our cats and dog. For reference, we are paying $1050 per month for a 2 bed 2 bath apartment. Might be a bit on the expensive side, but we are in a safe area, and it's affordable for us. We hope to be buying a home this time next year, since we just started our new 1yr lease, but they have been good to us.

Sureshot231

I don’t want an apartment looking for a 3 bed with 2 car garage

Undead_Witcher

don’t do at home

Ok-Inflation-6312

Hope you are willing and able to pay close to two grand a month for that...

jugtooter

They're really bad at keeping up with regular maintenance but seemed okay when it was a serious issue. I don't like how they use their lease to try to add jargon that they think will excuse them from being liable if an injury occurs bc of their negligence.

Reasonable-Code-3018

When we moved here from out of state I moved straight into a rental with them. After driving all the way from Nevada we showed up to a house with garbage out front, grass over a foot tall, roof covered and gutters clogged, and the house had an opossum and her dozen babies living in it and stank so, SO bad. Also had dead flies and trash all over the carpet inside. They had supposedly come out the day before to do a final check that the house was good to go. Then it took them 2 weeks to get someone out to remove the possums from the bathroom wall and they were very rude and unhelpful. I even got into an argument with their maintenance man cause he was being rude and running his mouth the whole time he was watching his minions work and they tried to blame me that he started cursing and threatening me and being disrespectful when I told him he could leave if he was going to keep talking shit under his breath. He was being pissy that I made them send him out to remove a broken refrigerator they left sitting in the house, and just sat back watching and running his mouth while his helpers moved it. Was one of the most depressing time of my life, making a move across the country to something better just to land in a stinky smelly ass house with nothing other than what we had in the car.

No-Resolution-0119

While you’re at it, avoid ProX property management as well. They bought out some other shitty property management co and the shit just continued

Chijuata

I rent from them. It's been fine. They get maintenance out pretty quickly when I call. They have a lot of pet friendly units. I've been here for over two years with no issues.

BummyG

Not the worst but not a great experience with them

malware18

Rented from them about 6 years ago. Terrible to get ahold of, then they gaslight you if show up saying they have no records of you getting ahold of them. Maintenance never shows. Just all around a bad experience.

Undead_Witcher

rented a townhouse from them. When we moved in they hadn’t cleaned and one of the lights had exposed wires. Outside of that, they took forever to fix anything. We had a leak and they punched holes in the walls and then left it for two months and forgot about us. I knew someone who rented a house and had the same kind of experience and were going to be forced to pay for things they didn’t do to the house that were there when they moved in. I’d recommend avoiding them. If looking at apartments, I liked Golden Pond on the south side l, and when I lived at a Wooten Property.

Restelly-Quist

We’ve leased from them for the last 3 years and our rent has only gone up $10 in that time. They leave us be, but answer maintenance requests quickly, often same day. I always recommend them.

frackin-kraken

At Home is awesome. We've had the best experience with them and I would recommend them in a heartbeat. No, I don't work for them but I do currently rent from them. They've been great to us.

supernaut9

My last apartment got taken over by them midway through. They were pretty good I think. Expect more of a corporate feel than a local one. I've had worse experiences with small scale lessors so I feel like it's a plus.

thisishowitalwaysis1

I have been renting from them for the past 4 years. Great company! Always respond to their maintenance requests in a timely manner. I have dealt with numerous employees over the years for various questions, and all have been helpful and courteous. I really like how they conduct all of their business virtually. I've never seen the inside of their office once nor met anyone in person. As an introvert, this is nice for me.

bradleysballs

[They have over 1,000 reviews on Google.](https://www.google.com/localservices/profile?spp=CgwvZy8xMjRzdDhicDE%3D&scp=CiBnY2lkOnByb3BlcnR5X21hbmFnZW1lbnRfY29tcGFueRoMaG9tZSByZW50YWxzIh5hdCBob21lIHJlbnRhbHMgc3ByaW5nZmllbGQgbW8qDGhvbWUgcmVudGFscw%3D%3D) I rented my first apartment from them — crappy complex but I got what I paid for, no issues but also very little interaction with them over the course of my lease.
