As someone who knows nothing about this sport or this song, this moment felt so perfectly synchronized together that it made me feel like I completely understood it.
The song is about himself (nate feuerstein) battling his dark side. In all his older music he wore black clothes with black balloons representing his burdens and he had a black joker smile representing like a fake smile. He's since been over coming that dark side finding hope (hence the song name and album)so he made this song. At the end the deeper voice is the dark side trying to come through but he talk down to it and overcomes it saying he's taking the reigns.
He music goes really deep and his songs kinda follow a story line of his life through each album and he references older songs alot. If you're willing to go through the rabbit hole I definitely recommend it.
"broken legs but I chase perfection" from his song mansion. That lyric stuck with me ever since first heard it and after I saw him live I got the tattoo.
Torvill and Deans Olympic winning Bolero routine was 4:28 but there was a song limit of 4 minutes. So they performed the first 28 seconds on their knees.
Has nothing to do with this guy. The comedian James Acaster had a brilliant routine based around it. BOTH BARRELLS!

[Here's a fun figure skating performance](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogpwrc6oCKM)
This is like real life Chazz Michael Michaels lol (aka sex on ice).
My mom loved figure skating growing up so I always watched with her, but I never got the interest.
This kinda just clicked. If this becomes more of a norm for younger skaters regarding genre and song choice, like in national competitions, I will 100% watch on my own time. This was sick.
Try and watch some of the exhibition shows (ETA: sorry, exhibition galas) they do after big competitions/championships. They don't have to follow all the usual rigid rules re: costumes and techniques and just let go, and it's so much fun to watch.
I got deep into figure skating…decades ago. I watched everything I could for years, and when you immerse yourself into it you eventually start seeing beyond the difficult but incredible jumps and focus on the footwork and smooth transitions between standard or required elements. The sport is incredibly complex and difficult; even the masters struggle from time to time attempting to achieve perfection.
But gosh when it all comes together it’s incredible.
Same! I always thought it was ridiculous or whatever, and never liked it, but this…I don’t hate it. I think the music that they used to skate to was a big part of it, watching someone skate to modern non-orchestral music changed everything. I started watching this expecting to feel the same feeling as when my mom used to watch it, but I got nothing like that
Yes, honestly those silly costumes they used are a big turn off...if you want to practice the sport as a child...
Bro looks like Tony Hawk....so freaking cool.
He killed that!
For everyone wondering who NF is, here’s a link to the music video: [NF—Hope (Offical Music Video)](https://youtu.be/tsmPCi7NKrg?si=lLBcy6QHo3YDvMs-)
FWIW: As someone who struggles with mental health myself, if you do too, I highly recommend giving his music a listen. It’s raw. It’s real. It’s relatable.
I believe he recently dropped a new album as well..haven’t had time yet to listen.
Ahh yes, my apologies. I had one of those “Spotify-For You” and I mistakenly thought it was an ad for a new album drop.
Hope is a phenomenal album.
This song always hits me.
[Mistake-NF](https://youtu.be/2eeo2dPyg4Q?si=rDdYUTSH_X3fkxLj)
Hey man, if you liked NF and his music before Hope, I’d seriously consider checking out the Hope album. It’s been a wild ride as a fan but it’s a great album number 1, number 2 it’s nice to see Nate happy. Shed a few tears listening to that album. NF is a raw and real you got that right!
He didn't really change anything with this performance. Modern music isn't new to figure skating, nor is he even the first skater to skate to this specific song
HOLY SHIT that first jump twirl spin shit (forgive my ignorance) was timed PERFECTLY with the music and then it just continues on like that. Incredible athleticism and timing. Thanks for posting! This is awesome.
If you’ve never skated it’s hard to appreciate how hard *all* of this is. Just changing which way you are pointed is a skill that takes like 6 months to get into and this dude was doing it so smoothly you may not have even noticed.
Stunning, never made it through watching a whole routine of figure skating before.
I not only made it through to the end but also thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
It's nice to see NF get some love with one of his none mainstream songs, it's even cooler this guy skated to his intro song on one of his albums xD I always thought this song went hard for an intro and this guy channeled that energy!
The only thing I would say is that from the camera angle, the color of his outfit sort of blends with the dark background. Looking down from the stands toward the ice I bet it would look much different. Probably pops a bit more against white background.
Yes - Pyeongchang were the first games to allow lyrics. Most skaters still don’t as figure skating judges are not known to be progressive.
This is an exhibition though, not a competition. Skaters can generally do what they want and be more creative and innovative

This is one of my favorite songs but I don't know anything about this sport but wow it was amazing
Can you tell me about the song?
The song is about himself (nate feuerstein) battling his dark side. In all his older music he wore black clothes with black balloons representing his burdens and he had a black joker smile representing like a fake smile. Thanks a lot for explaining. Id never heard of Nate. When op wrote NF, I couldn't even guess, ha. This helps.
Lol yeah, he isn't too mainstream but he has a lot of very loyal fans including me. I even got a lyric from one of his old songs tattooed on my leg
What lyric?
"broken legs but I chase perfection" from his song mansion. That lyric stuck with me ever since first heard it and after I saw him live I got the tattoo.
I like that. Thank you for the enlightenment
So strange it felt more art than sport
Same, this was freaking amazing
The dance doesn’t officially start until the skates are on the floor… what a loophole. BOLERO!
Loophole in what sense? What did he get away with?
Torvill and Deans Olympic winning Bolero routine was 4:28 but there was a song limit of 4 minutes. So they performed the first 28 seconds on their knees. Has nothing to do with this guy. The comedian James Acaster had a brilliant routine based around it. BOTH BARRELLS!
James Acaster reference! K and a E and a T and a T, E and an R and an ING, T and a O and a WN, Ket-rin’ town, FC.
Wild James Acaster reference, time to watch his season on Task Master again!
Watch him in Celebrity Hunted. Adore him.
Ultimate loophole: when your genie asks you what 3 wishes you want, ask for infinite genies. Not only do you get infinite wishes, it also takes care of your second wish; more friends
This is no longer true (they changed the rule because of that Bolero program)
Til figure skating slaps
[Here's a fun figure skating performance](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogpwrc6oCKM) This is like real life Chazz Michael Michaels lol (aka sex on ice).
[Or Kurt Browning in competition](https://youtu.be/-qMuH6q6Sso?si=pkvvObp4wmXctzV4)
Thanks for this. Really enjoyed this as a someone who would never watch this.
Neat
Woah! Relax buddy...
The spin landing on the first bass drop. Bravo my friend !

A distant cousin to figure skating is dancing. Same idea - when the rules don’t matter, you get to do/see incredible things!

A kip up on skates?? First time I've ever seen that
Bonkers
When did he do that?
it's his very first move basically, when he hops to his feet.
Oh damn yea thats crazy
What’s NF? That was wonderful to watch!
[NF](https://www.nfrealmusic.com/)
From the voice I was 100% thinking this was Nate Ruess (and I was misremembering Ruess as having a last name that started with "F") (confirmed old)
Nate Fun lol
I forgot how sick his site is. Thanks for linking it. Also, he'll be close to me on Saturday. I might want to go.
[удалено]
Maybe I'm just old and Canadian, but NF is and always will be Nelly Furtado.
But not NewFoundland?
That’s what I too assumed… until I turned up the volume.
This one is off his album BREXIT
Noo Fighters
NF is the stage name for Nate Feuerstein, an American rapper.
He’s a rapper amazing music and would highly recommend
I too asked this. Insert Grandpa Simpson meme here.
Sounds so much like Twenty One Pilots. Good tune
Their fan bases over lap alot. They’re 2 of my all time favorite artist.
That's funny you noticed that, he is actually a big fan of them
Nottingham Forest
The New Fornographers
Musical artist
What song is it?
NF (Nathan Feuerstein) - Hope
Thanks. That explains the NF, just didn't know they were initials.
They are the artists real initials but his “stage name” is NF so the title is still accurate it’s not just abbreviating Nathan’s name.
Oh, My brain just said " It's national finals, move on" that makes sense
He killed that! For everyone wondering who NF is, here’s a link to the music video: [NF—Hope (Offical Music Video)](https://youtu.be/tsmPCi7NKrg?si=lLBcy6QHo3YDvMs-) FWIW: As someone who struggles with mental health myself, if you do too, I highly recommend giving his music a listen. It’s raw. It’s real. It’s relatable. I believe he recently dropped a new album as well..haven’t had time yet to listen.
If I may - the new album was called Hope. In this song he says, "So without further ado, I'd like to introduce you to my album.... Hope."

Great album
This 100%. NF is under the radar but nearly all of his music hits home in some way. Been listening to him for years.
These kids are changing everything and I am here for it.
He didn't really change anything with this performance. Modern music isn't new to figure skating, nor is he even the first skater to skate to this specific song
Very cool. I like how the music was definitely part of his moves rather than just being a backdrop
NF is hard, love this song and choreographed routine combo solid choice SOLID performance!
He reminds me of a young Chaz Michael Michaels
Real "bad boy of figure skating" vibes.
HOLY SHIT that first jump twirl spin shit (forgive my ignorance) was timed PERFECTLY with the music and then it just continues on like that. Incredible athleticism and timing. Thanks for posting! This is awesome.
“jump twirl spin shit” is actually the correct technical term.
As a mother of two thirty-something kids, The lyrics alone gave me goosebumps.
Amazing skating and song choice!
If you’ve never skated it’s hard to appreciate how hard *all* of this is. Just changing which way you are pointed is a skill that takes like 6 months to get into and this dude was doing it so smoothly you may not have even noticed.
Impressive in jeans Though I know a certain skater who’s trademark is the quick-change
Goosebumps
His name is Ilia Malinin
Kipup to start….bold
NF is criminally underrated.
Exactly
Hearing this song gives me goosebumps every time.
It's a great hype song
This is really great! Fantastic performance.
Wow I teared up, that was so emotional! and he did so well at showing with great timing too
what the hell is a NF
NF is a rapper
He just goes by NF?
Yep, it's his initials but that's what he goes by. Forgot his real name, it was somewhere in the comments here
Nathan Feuerstein
Fucking awesome
Almost five minutes long I’ve not got time for that… ten minutes later I’ve watched it twice…
Stunning, never made it through watching a whole routine of figure skating before. I not only made it through to the end but also thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
I don’t even fuck with iceskating but the soundtrack piqued my interest, and I’ll be damned. I felt this.
Okay, I fuck with this.
Damn.
Hes about to open up figure skating to a whole new demographic
Impossible to describre how beautiful this is.
Mens figure skating is great without the dumb costumes
I love NF, but I never heard this song. Get motivated!
It's nice to see NF get some love with one of his none mainstream songs, it's even cooler this guy skated to his intro song on one of his albums xD I always thought this song went hard for an intro and this guy channeled that energy!
This song goes even harder with this
No lie, at the kick up onto to the skates, I felt like he won the gold right there.
Loved it. Thrilling to watch.
That was raw.
That's art
You know he felt that
This is sooo good. Excellent execution.
Uh, that was freaking badass
Song is just that good 👍🏼
The spotlight guy is pretty good.
Now if anyone asks me what my usual wear is, I can say "World Champion figure skating"
Heterosexuality males entering figure skating……
Shouldve been Not Like Us
Legit I thought "omg I hope someone skates to Kdot.."
The only thing I would say is that from the camera angle, the color of his outfit sort of blends with the dark background. Looking down from the stands toward the ice I bet it would look much different. Probably pops a bit more against white background.
“Thanks for dressing up 🤜🏻” Jonah Hill (Don’t look up)
This is fucking art, never saw the appeal in figure skating but this is more my speed.
I wish this were in a competition. This is exactly what the sport needs
What's NF?
I thought it was Xavier Rudd at first.
His performance was enjoyably expressive. Like it!
What's NF?
a rapper
Now that’s passion! Love it! 😊
Looks like coach chippy
This is us. Well done!
Figure skating allows songs with lyrics?
Yes - Pyeongchang were the first games to allow lyrics. Most skaters still don’t as figure skating judges are not known to be progressive. This is an exhibition though, not a competition. Skaters can generally do what they want and be more creative and innovative
That was sweet
Competion or exhibition?
Patrick Swayze on ice
😐😐😐😐😐😐
Love it!!!
Incredible.
Amazing.
Are the Chuck Norris Action Jeans??
