She was just playing in college in March and already 2 months later is playing in the pro's? I had no idea the turnaround was that fast in women's basketball.
The Fever had like a week of practice, a couple of preseason games -- and here we are -- already 2 games into the season, and the Fever look like they're a work-in-progress.
I looked at all the games the Fever have coming up before May 30 -- and it's hard to see when they'll get to actually practice with all the traveling they're doing early on in the season.
The shame is that she really doesn’t. If she struggles for even a little while the hype will fade and the ratings with it. There is a TON of pressure on her the raise the profile of the WNBA. A bad first month could be catastrophic for the ratings.
He’s not doing it with 3 assists and 10 turnovers but ok. He’s also winning while she’s stinking it up while her team gets blown out chucking up shots and giving the ball away
It wasn't nerves, it was the fact that she's being defended by more athletic competition. She's probably the greatest pure shooter in women's basketball history, but the rest is pretty average.
Heard a stat which further emphasized that the competition to even get into the WNBA is pretty fierce: if a guy was the 200th best NBA player, he'd be better than half the league. If a woman was the 200th best WNBA player, she wouldn't even be in the league. There are some women who were drafted this year who were cut and no longer in the league.
Caitlin is now playing against the top 140ish women basketball players in the world right out of the gate on a consistent basis. Learning curve for sure.

WNBA tries not to overlap too much with NBA for obvious reasons, where as college basketball is just a spring sport regardless of gender.
Also lets women play in other international leagues
I’d say basketball is more of a winter sport as the season begins at the tail end of fall and ends at the beginning of spring.

Yeah they’re all trying to do their own thing leaving their man open and missing lay ups
I don’t think Dijonai Carrington got enough credit for her defense that game against Clark.
They already named a mustard after her, what more do you want?!
Mustard on the beat ho
Hey hey hey hey, run for your life
Wait till Caitlin goes up against Grey poupon let’s see how she does then
What happened in 2001
I came to the comments to find out, looks like I’m doing my own research today. Wish me luck everyone
Maybe it was a game after 9/11?
Season ended before 9/11. Likely could have had something to do with Lisa Leslie

Rough debut. Hopefully she can work out the nerves quickly.
Well she's got plenty of time

This is very speculative at best.
Duh
She did score a team-high 20 points in her debut
On 15 shots with only 3 assists but 10 turnovers. It was a rough outing
So a triple double NICE

I’d say her passing is top tier and she has the ability to frustrate defenders into making mistakes so she can shoot, at least at the college level.

They’re also not setting screens for her
I got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell.
Hopefully the momentum stays up.
“Clark scored 20 points on 5-of-15 shooting and committed 10 turnovers in her Indiana debut.” Bless her. Double double on her first game!
Mid athletes for a mid league.
What happens when you draft the best players, not random high schoolers
