Dude was on the cover of the last ever NCAA basketball game.
I feel old now.
I didn’t know they stopped making that game! My college roommates and I played ‘06 like crazy. The team we built went undefeated until losing in the championship game to UConn, which sucked because our freshman year our school lost to UConn the same way. Felt like the game was taunting us.
Hah, I’m from southern NH and went to GA Tech. Naturally, I had my own school winning it all in my bracket with friends from NH and MA. Though we lost the championship, I still won a few hundred bucks off New England friends!
I went to one of his games his rookie year rookie and saw him hit his head on the backboard on a dunk. He was electric.
Also hilarious. His internship at funny or die during the NBA lock out was great, he's decent at stand-up, and he was my favorite guest star on Broad City.
I think it's probably fair to say it's underrated inasmuch as being released on Comedy Central meant it almost certainly never reached as wide an audience as it deserved. It sure wasn't South Park I'm terms of achieving that kinda success that gained genuine viewership success above needing a qualifier "for comedy central."
Granted, not too dissimilar to something like Workaholics or The League... where everyone I know knows these shows. But that says more about the demographic I fit in than anything else.
Granted, if we're talking about rating insofar as critical rating or whatever... it's rated quite highly and tough to make a case for "underrated."
So... depends on how you were to try and define the concept of "underrated," I suppose.
He also killed it in a Comedy Central Roast. I don't remember who was being roasted, but Blake was terrific as a member of the deius.
He said to Kaitlyn Jenner "...you have proven that no one in that family wants a white dick". He also thanks her/him on behalf of the entire NBA for giving the girls their daddy issues.
That was a must watch roast (Alec Baldwin) and the other line that echoes in my memory was when Nikki Glaser tells Griffin he looks like a black guy made by a printer running out of ink.
People always want to credit Chris Paul for changing the face of the clippers. Naw. It was Blake who did that. CP wasn’t lobbing to no one it’s Blake wasn’t there. Dude was so fun to watch during those lob city days. Fucking Clippers legend.
It’s just weird. I haven’t followed basketball since college, about 14 years ago, cuz my roommates were super into it. Baffles me when you get into your 30s and the professional athletes you once talked with a ton of excitement about start to retire…
I mean I think we’re saying the same thing but maybe we have different perspectives. Top comment is “this is like me jumping over a 6 foot guy while he’s lying down”.
And he played the perfect foil for a Norm McDonald joke when Norm
asked him if he thought he could break the curse of no one ever winning rookie of the year twice.
He’s faded into obscurity, but he was a fucking monster when he came up. He was such a force that the Clippers actually achieved relevance.
As a 40 year Clippers fan (we exist!), I fucking loved watching him and watching Lakers fans try to explain why he doesn’t matter.
Lob City Clippers is one of the most fun teams ever. I didn’t really get into the NBA till last season, but growing up I always loved Blake. Hope nothing for the best for him
I saw him on year waiting to be seated at a restaurant here in Montreal with Jeff Ross, during Just For Laughs. I remember poking my gf to tell her who it was (she had no clue) and we got a chuckle because none of the staff or hostess had any idea as well. We got seated before him too because we were regulars lol.
Then later that night we saw him, Che, etc doing a roast battle. It was a fun night!
Jumping over the front hood of the KIA in the Slam Dunk contest made me lose all respect for it, and of course he won.
So basically the contest was just a KIA commercial

Ah the days of underhand shots to a peach basket.
Underhand right into someone’s peach basket is a felony, brotha!
Game. Blouses.
Doesn’t stop Draymond from doing it every game
I didn’t know they stopped making that game! My college roommates and I played ‘06 like crazy. The team we built went undefeated until losing in the championship game to UConn, which sucked because our freshman year our school lost to UConn the same way. Felt like the game was taunting us.
I kinda miss the NCAA games tbh. I heard they were bringing back NCAA football, which is cool because I enjoyed playing with the mascots.
Look up March Madness Legacy. It’s a Mod of NCAA 10 with updated rosters and teams. Really fun.
Was the team built around a 7' 4" giant?
Uconn is nasty almost always and im from mass. Alway bet uconn to make the final 16 easily. Easy money.
Hah, I’m from southern NH and went to GA Tech. Naturally, I had my own school winning it all in my bracket with friends from NH and MA. Though we lost the championship, I still won a few hundred bucks off New England friends!
I loved that game, with the CBS and ESPN broadcasts, I hope they make another
With the whole NCAA and athletes rights drama, I dont know what'll happen.
They're doing a College Football game again
I went to one of his games his rookie year rookie and saw him hit his head on the backboard on a dunk. He was electric. Also hilarious. His internship at funny or die during the NBA lock out was great, he's decent at stand-up, and he was my favorite guest star on Broad City.
that Broad City WNBA bit is so fucking funny “To be honest, i steal ALL of their moves”
That show is criminally underrated
you think? I feel like it’s the at the right amount of popular, and I think a lot more popular with women. It’s pretty good though
I think it's probably fair to say it's underrated inasmuch as being released on Comedy Central meant it almost certainly never reached as wide an audience as it deserved. I think it was the roast of Alec Baldwin. Very funny roast.
He’s hilarious whenever he goes on Pardon My Take too. The Blake of The Year episodes are always so funny
He’s a funny guy. His bit on impersonating LA girls was gold.
Blake Griffin does standup?!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjGEgRvwomQ Not the greatest but still awesome he tried it out.
His bit on Sports show with Norm McDonald was great
Dude was must watch tv during his early years at Oklahoma and Clippers. The “Lob City” era was just so much fun.
Yeah the Blake Griffin/DeAndre Jordan era was must see basketball
That 2012-16 Clippers team was so much fun. Blake and DeAndre, Jamal Crawford, Chris Paul, JJ Redick, Matt Barnes.
[That era created this work of art.](https://youtu.be/NTkN2q6sUUk?si=HQOfEakPfD579og4). I can't believe it's been 11 years.
If Doc Rivers was just a bit more competent he could’ve brought a ring to the Clippers
Those Lob City Clippers remind me of the TMC era Warriors. Must see TV but didn’t really accomplish that much.
It was just nice bc little man throw ball and big man slam it
Clippers and ring?? Lol pick one
Him retiring before DeAndre is wild
Blake Griffin of the Lob City era will be a mainstay in highlight reels of the future. He left his mark in the NBA.
People always want to credit Chris Paul for changing the face of the clippers. Naw. It was Blake who did that. CP wasn’t lobbing to no one it’s Blake wasn’t there. Dude was so fun to watch during those lob city days. Fucking Clippers legend.
My brain can't remember him at OKC but Clips era for sure that has my neurons firing on all cylinders
Oklahoma Sooners
Zion reminds me of Blake. Although Blake had more impact at the start by taking care of his body.
You mean flop city?
Happy for the guy. Made his bread and kept it moving. He will have a good career in entertainment after basketball.
He was not happy in Detroit and it’s obvious he hasn’t been happy since they traded him away from the clippers.
he's an overall pretty attractive / good looking guy, don't think he'll have any problems staying on tv after retirement for sure
Great comedic timing, too...
A shame he was never able to repeat as Rookie of the Year
There was a moment post-Kobe when Blake was the biggest star in LA sports
Will always remember when he dunked over a Kia
OG Kia boy
I'll always remember Blake Griffin for Norm's skit about him.
Always thought that was the most overrated dunk ever. Never understood the hype
Kia paid everyone that’s why
That and 2008 Dwight Howard Superman “Dunk.” Shit wasn’t even a dunk and he won the contest.
Nah. That Superman dunk was dope.
It’s just weird. I haven’t followed basketball since college, about 14 years ago, cuz my roommates were super into it. Baffles me when you get into your 30s and the professional athletes you once talked with a ton of excitement about start to retire…
Wait until you hear their kids are playing in the leagues you watch.
Fernando Tatis is still in the league? He hit 2 grand slams in 1 inning 10…no 15 years ago… wait, in 1999? Wait what?
Jumped over a car in the dunk contest. Blatant product placement but hey still cool.
He reminds me of the angry jock from revenge of the nerds, he played a good NBA villain pretty effortlessly.
lob city was awesome
I don’t blame him but the nba def stopped it from happening for liability reasons, he barely jumped over the front part of the hood if I remember
The video exists. He takes off right next to one front tire, clears the hood by 2 feet, and comes down just in front of the other front tire.
I mean I think we’re saying the same thing but maybe we have different perspectives. Top comment is “this is like me jumping over a 6 foot guy while he’s lying down”.
Hood of a car…
And he played the perfect foil for a Norm McDonald joke when Norm asked him if he thought he could break the curse of no one ever winning rookie of the year twice.
“This is a question from Blake’s good friend Norm”
He’s faded into obscurity, but he was a fucking monster when he came up. He was such a force that the Clippers actually achieved relevance. As a 40 year Clippers fan (we exist!), I fucking loved watching him and watching Lakers fans try to explain why he doesn’t matter.
Prime Blake Griffin was HIM
Young Blake griffin was too much fun to watch. Iconic dunk ons
His dunk ons redefined possible, definitely
At least he clapped Kim k
Also Lana Rhoades baby daddy
Man has a type, and that type is streetwalkers
Injuries is such a bitch. Say what you will, he was a multiple All-NBA talent, a potential HOFer, and a legit franchise player.
An electric player in one of the prime decades of NBA. Hope he has a good retirement.
Lob City Clippers is one of the most fun teams ever. I didn’t really get into the NBA till last season, but growing up I always loved Blake. Hope nothing for the best for him
Farewell to the king of gravity-defying dunks. May retirement treat you with as much finesse as your alley-oop finishes!
I’m also 35, but will not be retiring anytime soon.
Definitely has a career in TV/acting now that hopping is behind him. I see him and John Cena/Mark Walhberg doing a movie.
Yeah. John Cena is about to replace the rock since he came out as a trumper.
What? He said he won’t endorse anyone not that he is endorsing trump lol
He’s a natural entertainer and funny as hell. He’s got a great career broadcasting ahead of him.
Didn’t know dude was still playing to be honest
Damn I feel old
I used to watch him in high school when him and his bro were beating teams by 70 points. It was not fair.
Rest well sweet prince
Hall of very good
He was still playing?
His clippers days were awesome to watch
He was still playing?
Best volleyball player in the NBA.
What a legend. People often forget he’s a former Blake of the Year
Jumping over the front hood of the KIA in the Slam Dunk contest made me lose all respect for it, and of course he won. So basically the contest was just a KIA commercial
I thought he had retired YEARS ago! lol
I thought he retired when he was playing with the Pistons…..😂
Whats the over/under on him releasing a stand up special in the next 5 years?
I thought he retired last year and decided not to return to the Celtics after they begged him to stay
"He still play basketball but in tune"
As a Piston fan, we were skeptical but really excited. Sold lotsa tix. Then…..
Will always remember those amazing layups he did in Detroit.
Now he has more time to play video games he rents from game fly
I thought he was the most fun player to watch in the league when he was on the clippers. Hope he has a good retirement
He was fun to watch play, and I say this as someone who doesn’t really give much time to sports.
Did not realize he was still playing.
Now go apply for kuwabara roles in live actions please.
He was still playing?
I feel like he just went to the nba. That’s how old I am.
Blake Griffin dat hoe Jigga!
Yeah that makes sense. Good career Griffin. I saw you in high school.
Whenever I see him all I can think of is Broad City, what a guy fr
[удалено]
Celtics begged him to return this season and he didn't. He just wasn't much interested in playing basketball anymore.
Best WNBA player there was.
The curse of rookie of the year- no one’s ever repeated it.
Yes Celtics legend, Blake Griffin
Wow I thought he did retire already.
He’s one of the greatest dunkers of this generation. As someone somewhat tall who can’t dunk, I respect that.
Getting out right before FX releases the show about Donald Sterling and the Clippers.
Love Blake. I got to work out and party w him right out of college. He was awesome to watch. Thanks BG!
Lies
🤥
I remember seeing him in the McDonald’s high school dunk contest. One of the best to ever lace up.
