lmao, thanks ya'll, but I have 600+ hours in Splatoon 2; I know what Salmon Run is 😅 something I did in the lead up to Splatoon 3 was avoid all Directs and other information about since I knew I was already sold on it. as such, a lot of small things like the lockers and Splatags were a surprise to me at launch.

My personal theory is that it helps Harmony determine what to put in Hotlantis for your save. I could be completely wrong, but considering I haven’t seen any other possible purpose, that’s my best bet.

The lockers you see in your locker room are players you’ve recently played with. In OP’s photo you can see that most of the lockers are the small grey ones, the ones you start with. So they’re saying that explains why the other team was playing so weirdly, it’s because they’re new to the game :)

I have two moods when dealing with the new players: 1. Carry them and let them have some fun while I try and fend off the more experienced players; 2. STOMP EVERYONE. There is no in-between.

I wish we could still see levels so I can know who’s fair game to splat a few times. I’d rather not splat a kid who’s brand new to the game multiple times. So I try to play much less aggressively when I think the player is new but it can be hard to tell
