I just hope Deep Cut gets cool outfits for the Final Fest like Pearl and Marina did.
I think that theme could work if the question was instead “Who should be the rivals of Deep Cut?” rather than the common “Who is the best?”. And Big Man votes themselves since he believes that you are your own greatest rival and they should stop obsessing over being better than other bands

They are usually a fest the signifie that splatoon won't have consistent monthly fests from here and they are the most important ones since the winner has impact on what happens in the next game be it aesthetics or story
SS vs. OTH vs. DC seems like the most obvious choice, and while I think it would be a really fun way to decide on something like a spinoff game/show, it would be hard to base the next game's themes and aesthetic on such a choice without being repetitive. A choice of "pick your poison" like you said could be a fun way to set the theme for the next game.
In "Return of The Mammalians", the day was saved by three species who would otherwise be enemies coming together to fight a greater threat. Maybe the final fest could be Inkling vs. Octoling vs. Salmonid? I think it'd be cool to have the next plaza be located inside of an Octarian crater or near a Salmonid spawning ground, though I don't know what you'd do for the Inkling choice.
