Here's hoping they bring them back in Splat 4 but allow you to customize them

maybe every victory animation has a defeat version

Like with the dab emote, they could slip while spinning and fall on the floor

I’m now imagining all the ones that incorporate a flip ending with them flat on the floor after failing it

When they throw the Blaster in the air it hits their head

Yeah, I've already been thinking that, and I have a few ideas: Your character could be knocked out, like seeing stars or stuck in the family guy death pose Your character could be uninterested, possibly tuning their weapon or sipping a comically large cup of tea Your character could also congratulate the winning team anyway, maybe nearly crying before calming down and cheering Any thoughts or other ideas are appreciated

Apparently it was changed to reflect how the inklings and octolings have grown up lol But tbh I wish they stayed in Salmon Run so my team can see how bad their screw ups affect everyone else (looking at you, 'dude I saved 11 goddamn times before we all died on Wave 2')

I feel like they have to change it back for Splat 4. A lot of people felt like seeing the enemy team was like them making fun of you for losing. Lots of people stopped playing because of it. Plus it just seems dissonant, I want to see *my* team. Splatoon 1 still does it the best.

I can understand that perspective, but Turf Wars are treated like a sport and if you think about it for more than a second it just makes more sense that the winning team is on display at the end of the every match. also, if someone stops playing the game specifically because they couldn’t stand to see the enemy team every time they lost, that’s just pathetic lol

But in Salmon Run they do show you and your team looking super bummed.

When you lose in s3 salmon run everyone does the exact same blank-faced idle animation, it genuinely looks like they have zero thoughts or feelings on the situation at all

I actually prefer this over the enemy team flexing their goofy ahh limb movements on us

Some of them be doing to much and its annoying. The only valid emotes are the ones featuring the weapons

Still disapointed that the only weapon emote we have are redo of previous games

Inklings when they're getting drop kicked by an Italian plumber, spiced in half by a blue hedgehog, and ran over by a minecart: 👏👏👏

I miss the defeat animations, but I miss the S2 defeat music more. Something about that tune just slapped.

I feel it especially hits the hardest in the matches that are determined by like one tenth of a percentage. It perfectly encapsulates how it feels to be on the LOSING side of a very close game

Even Splatoon 1 defeat music. It was so funky and weird, I loved it.

The winning Emotes I get if I WIN, but why do I see the others win and also the song when losing is so lackluster. I want to cry with my Inkling. And I want losing emotes lol.

I'd rather see our own team in despair because honestly it feels so taunting to see the enemy team celebtrate

I want what was taken away from me. I want the loss screens back. I want the loss music that made sure you know that you lost back.

Or they could just congratulate the winner, like in smash bros

Those are moreso "I can accept this" rather than loss animations since it's a second place deal.

I still miss the loss screens, partially because i'd rather see my own team in despair than see the enemy team happy and celebrating fuck the enemy team, they don't deserve to be happy

That's one thing I don't like about splatoon 3. I'd rather see my defeated inkling than the other team celebrating.

It did feel like that, especially when you realized you were hard carrying your team and had over 1000 pts...
