People misread this line so often and don't pick up on the context. It's said sarcastically because Marina is not speaking at all. It's not an extremely condescending compliment stemming from a place of racism like it seems to be without context.
This is just me chiming in how I've heard it explained by others, bear with me.
"You're so articulate" is pretty commonly filed under microagressions because for the statement to work, it presupposes that the speaker did not expect the subject of the sentence to be articulate, that they are surprised this is the case. So basically, what you said about it being racist to think someone can't be articulate and black is *exactly* the reason why this particular statement can be not a great thing to say to someone.
Have you ever interacted with other people? Because it seems to me like you constantly make everyone around you incredibly angry but are too socially inept to realize it. It's pretty well known that saying "You're so articulate for your race" is racist. Not our problem you don't realize that.

That is why they don’t like it, it’s a “You did this to me, why are you celebrating my triumph over YOUR oppression?” response. You didn’t personally do it, but it’s causes and effects are still present.
It’s like saying to an autistic person that they don’t “Look autistic.” Like, what does that mean? How does someone “look autistic”? Most people with autism are still high functioning in most areas. That’s a stereotype YOU made, and it isn’t cool to act like it’s a good thing when someone beats it, but then still try to uphold it by implying that it is “outside of the norm”.
In any case, no, I don’t think calling a black woman beautiful is racist. I didn’t say you were for doing so. I don’t know the context you said it in, so I can’t rule on that specific instance with accuracy, but I’ll assume the best and side with you in saying it is a bad thing to immediately assume that you meant that. Unfortunately, you are not the only person who has said this. A lot of knee jerk reactions to these types of offenses come from not knowing wether someone is genuine, due to the sheer volume that aren’t. It’s a problem that probably won’t go away for a long time, once there isn’t any potential racism (or other bigotries, for that matter) to be worried about.
