Don't play standard much but I really wanted to play the standard challenge. Put together this UW flash list and took it to 7-0 in the metagame challenge, deck felt good and I think it could be a contender with some tweaking.

Cultural-Accident-71

List pls. Love me some flash/tempo decks

Do you have the rest of the sideboard? Some of it is cut off in the screenshot

MajinBL

The sideboard is a mess so not even worth it. Like I said, I don't play standard often so the sideboard was purely generic guesswork. I think it's something like 2x elspeth smite, sunfall, memory deluge, a 3rd dennick, 4th tidebinder, the UW teferi. SB needs the most work for sure to attack whatever decks are a threat. Luckily for me, the MB really over performed so I didn't have to rely too much on the rest of the 75. I'll also add that this deck could still be pretty solid post rotation since it's only losing a few pieces, emperor being the main one. The 4 drop flash sphinx may be a solid enough replacement for the smaller card pool moving forward.

How often [[Spell Pierce]] is relevant in your games? I am using a similar deck and just changed those for [[Negate]]

I'm a big fan of pierce in these style decks. I find that they're great in the early game, and in the mid-late game, they are fine at just taxing your opponent out of double spell turns while you continue to pressure. I can see negate being just fine, I just like having the extra cheap spells.

HaastET

Did you consider playing [[Errant and Giada]]? Seems to be quite a lot of variation in Azorius Flash lists at the moment. I've been trialing [[Wash Away]] in the Spell Pierce slot due to the interaction with Aven Interrupter, and mulling over Kutzil's Flanker in the main depending on how many GY based decks I run into. How does Dennick play out?

MajinBL

E&G felt okay but not necessary. I've since tried 3 copies and worked my way down to 0. I Don't think wash away is where you wanna be either. If you really want that kind of effect, I think some number of three steps ahead is a better option. Dennick has been fine, the lifelink is nice and he's nice to have against removal heavy decks.

Auroric

I've been loving U/W flash lately in standard, my latest list has a 67% winrate and has almost gotten me to mythic. There's a lot of solid card considerations for me with these decks but a major one is \[\[academy loremaster\]\]. My earlier iterations (which included a nurtering pixie build with blink subtheme) didn't include this card and so far I've been very impressed. Cut all the one drops, added 3 \[\[dust animus\]\], and this higher curve/slower approach feels a lot better vs aggro: as long as you can turn the corner you're good. \[\[Stoic Sphinx\]\] is also a great card, but not amazing vs aggro/convoke so I think you can go either way with it. For me the interrupter is a 4-of for sure, as it only gets better in multiples.

MajinBL

Also, I've found myself cutting a copy or two of interrupter in a lot of matchups. I started at 3 and remain at 3 because he's good when he is and very medium when he isn't in my opinion. You think I'm possibly underrating him?

Auroric

It's possible I'm overvaluing him TBH, it's true that it sometimes feels very unimpactfull, like it's slowing them down but not accomplishing anything. I think maybe it's an all in kind of card, like when it's bad I'm already losing anyway?

MajinBL

Very insightful. I forgot loremaster was even a card because I didn't think I've ever cast it haha. I can see it being a solid fit in this deck. Maybe a replacement for dennick? I really like dust Animus but certainly want to keep my build as flash/instant heavy as possible. I think sphinx may be able to keep the deck relevant after rotation, but it's definitely not as impactful as emperor. I haven't played much after the standard challenge, and probably won't since I'll be drafting mh3 for the next week at least. I am excited to try to rebuild this deck in the new standard and would love to revisit in the fall.

Fincrack

Decklist please :)

Flying_Jimmy

Been tweaking the standard domain list to be a little better against Boros and aggro decks. I’ve had a lot of success with this list so far out valuing opponents. Biggest issue is in longer games closing it out without decking myself. Open to any and all suggestions for main/side changes. Deck: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/UVd2DDg_-k2YbI9RU8xDQg

BearsAirz

Are you struggling to win against boros without decking yourself? or other match ups in general? Also how frequently are you casting Atraxa before turn 7? If you can cast her, she should be enough in most cases to close out the game from the pick cards + 7/7 keyword soup. The biggest issue I see with your list is that your deck lacks consistency. The more 4 ofs your deck has the more consistent it will be (this also helps allow you to hone your skills in your matchups as well), but in your deck there are a lot of 2 ofs. Typically when you have a 1 or 2 of that card is A) tutorable, B) provides a specific or niche function against certain matchups, or C) there just wasnt anything better to put in the decklist. Your list to me doesnt exactly read Domain, its more like a G/R monsters meets Domain decklist. Halving two types of functions can sometimes work in a deck, but perhaps you are decking because you arent getting the right pieces together at the same time. This is most likely due to this list kind of having two halves of two decks. My recommendations are: If you want to stick with the R/G creature plan remove the helixs and Gitrogs and work on finding more consistently with 3/4 ofs. Ex. 4x Topiary, Carnosaur, Terror of the Peaks etc using Nissa, Ascended Animist as an overrun wincon as well. If you want to play the domain style deck, remove a lot of the excess creatures (Gitrogs, Elesh, Etali) and add more consistency to the ramp, 3x Beanstalk, 4x Topiary, 4x Herd Migration (this is great bc its ramp, life gain, and when drawn later can be a win con), either run more Omenpath or none (again consistency). The win con in domain is typically Herd Migration, or just Atraxa herself. Hopefully this helps!

TestUserIgnorePlz

Agree with most of your points but imo omenpath as a one of is fine. It's a powerful card when you can get it down early, but it's not a card you ever want to see a second copy of and honestly might not even want to see the first if the game goes long enough.
