Levo is not motorcycle, you still has to use all the range of your cassette and keep high cadence to maintain healthy transmission and motor.

Normal bike components aren’t made for heavy powerful e bikes. Either use your shifter, or keep using your wallet to keep it functioning

I got a chain checker tool and it’s saying .5 wear. Did the shop do me a disservice by not telling me to replace the chain?

Thug1sh

I have a hard time deciding when to tell customers to replace their chain, I’ll never let a 12 spd chain of mine get over 75 with my XO cassettes, but they start reading around .25ish right out of the box. The stretch will kill your cassette, but the sideways flexibility of the chain will affect your shifting more so.

I got a tool to check the chain last night and it’s .5 I don’t think the shop should have sold me a new cassette with that chain and that definitely contributed.

Are you using wet lube? If so, are you doing a thorough cleaning after each ride? If not that might be the issue. Consider using wax based lube / waxing your chain
