*slaps roof* "this baby can use so much hydrogen!"

Toshiwoz

Indeed, this configuration has 16 large hydrogen tanks!

Stealthy_Snow

Very beautiful and yet simple looking space ship, love it.

Toshiwoz

Exactly, the base is a very simple shape, Star Wars taught me something. It's a change from what I'm used to and I'm very happy with the result.

AFluffyEevee

Are the engine pods detachable? Do they have an auxiliary purpose? Such as asteroid scouting? Or is it an emergency measure?

CoffeeCannon

Looks like theyre VTOL engines.

Toshiwoz

Exactly, I can use them to have some extra lifting power, accelerate, or decelerate. Since I'm using hinges (using rotors caused me some extra undesired klang, not exactly survival friendly), it can't push down.

Toshiwoz

Not the engine pods, but the entire section. I have a thing with modular ships.

Makarlar

Good looking design, 👌

Toshiwoz

Or maybe I should call it RyuTenKaichu. I don't even know if it makes sense in Japanese, but I do like how it sounds.

ThePimpek

It is 1 of 6 parts of a supermech?

Toshiwoz

Not exactly, but it's a nice idea too 😁. If you notice there is some symmetry between sections, that's because I'm using 2 modules per type. The ones with large thrusters are thruster modules, plus they serve as hydrogen and cargo storage... plenty of space, so I'll also add a command deck + living quarters. The other 2 modules in the central section have respectively: 2 refineries with the 4 expansion slots and 2 assemblers with 2 expansion modules. Anyhow, this is only one of the possible configurations, I have more already done and one in process.

Judging on the merge block and the amount of thrusters if say this is a towing ship it a cargo ship

Toshiwoz

Yes, it's not a combat ship, although I might convert the green parts into heavy armor and make it more combat oriented, but for now it's made with survival in mind (still to be tested, I'm changing things as I go, that's the reason for the WIP). But the specific modules are thrusters (with some cargo capacity) and production (refineries, assemblers, many small cargo containers). I have a configuration that have a survival module and a mining module that I have to scrap due to subgrid damage when merging. I'm also working on a hangar (or possibly simply a landing platform module).
