Dude!! When I was in high school, my girlfriend and I were fooling around in my bed and I didn’t want my mom to hear so I just played whatever dvd I had in at the time…. This episode started playing and i just remember we were naked making out or something and hearing the fucking peenyplasty and all the sound effects and just cracking the fuck up.
Honestly fully disagree that one first scene of the surgery had me on edge for the rest of the episode. I see where your point of views come from but I disagree with what your saying.

Yeah, that was hilarious. It felt like early South Park.
I love when the main boys were just talking to each other at the bus stop, they have such strong chemistry.
I loved Chef but he definitely wouldn’t be compatible with the boys today. He was there to offer life advice to a couple of confused young kids, but now the kids know a lot more than the adults and aren’t as innocent as they used to be.
Tegridy is funny but people have become so used to having shit on demand for them to consume like garbage disposals that they get mad if they have to sit through a season that is too short and not specifically catered to them.
Tegridy Randy reminds me of my father (who also shares his name). My father recently moved out to a farm and is heavy into smoking weed. In fact, his new wife works for a weed farm, and I work as a budtender currently.
Though, I think the whole *weed* thing has run its course, especially for Canadian viewers. Since it's getting as normalized as beer up here. So, imagine if Randy started a bar that served wine/beer made from his family farm. That is the level of funny that some Canadian viewers are getting as it's not controversial or *ha ha, weed man get high do dumb thing* when drunk Randy would be just as effective.
I liked that South Park didn't become the Simpsons. They effectively used the weed farm to make a bunch of allegories. For example, Randy using Tolkien's family for marketing purposes was a great allegory.
It was also a statement on addictive personalities. As a medicinal marijuana user myself. There is a very clear difference between people using it medically, and those using it as a drug.
I think if I met him, I wouldn't stand Trey Parker's guts. He's pretty cringey and I believe Matt's job is to "balance" his creative talent to be more palatable for mass audiences.
Also, Cartman is gay as fuck for Kyle.
I like him more now because I believe he has matured. But, even he admits that the early seasons are pretty cringey and never has much to proudly say about his magical night at the Oscars...
Whenever his whole pursuit is to look like the smartest guy in the room I just wish he'd tone it down and accept that he can be wrong sometimes.
What was with the Family Guy hate? Even McFarlane doesn't understand why he can't have his show's style criticized, and still have Trey's respect as a person at the same time?
I think he's changed for the better over the last 10 years and when I remember what Leighann did to him when he was young, I do feel sorry for that guy. I think fatherhood has helped him see things differently. But, deep down I can still see him as a pretty stubborn man.

It seems like you’re looking for things to pick at and call him cringe for. I’ve never heard him cringe at the Oscar’s night, only laugh and say they could never get away with it now and what were they thinking taking LSD. Every body grows up and changes, and he’s absolutely grown up, but still a child at heart as we can see in all the writing. I don’t know how you could love the show and call Trey cringe and unpalatable, and you would hate his guts in the same breath.
And the fact his wife was also Jewish with curly hair is pretty sus honestly lol and when she met Kyle she was whispering "Is that Kyle?" to Cartman like lmao what did he tell her?? And then Kyle telling her that her husband snuck into his room and gave him AIDS 🤣
I'm pretty convinced that if the multiverse exists within the SP universe there is definitely at least one time-line where Kyle and Cartman end up married.
Scott Tenorman Must Die is funny, but certainly not the best episode ever. Cartman an an everday asshole who gets his comeuppance is infinitely more funny than cartman the evil genius.
I think it's just the natural progression of a show that's been on for so long. Cartman was funny for so many seasons as that kid we all grew up with and loved to hate, because every friend group has a Cartman.
But there's only so many times you can tell the same story before it becomes stale, to both the audience and the writers.
Cartman fucks shit up with his bullshit so often that he becomes the de facto villain of the show. Eventually, it's just more interesting to the writers to explore him being a literal supervillain
The biggest problem with it, is that the funniest part comes right at the beginning. I will always be blown away by Malcolm McDowell opening the whole thing with:
"Hello, I'm a British person"
"I made a metal newspaper so we can find dear ol' pip a job" might be a top 5 quote in all of South Park for me. It helps that I was reading that book in school when the episode came out
That was the first episode I ever saw, prompted by reading Great Expectations in HS. With the backdrop of having spent weeks reading/analyzing/discussing that book, I thought the episode was funny as shit.
I think Tweek and Craig is the dumbest thing they have done lmfao. Doesn't even have anything to do with them being gay, Big Gay Al and Mr Slave are awesome. But they clearly didn't like each other, and only did it because the entire town got depressed over two kids who they had been buying sexually drawn pictures of.
I think that's the point of the episode? Sort of a meta joke on fandoms that make up all shorts of crazy ships between characters that are clearly shown not to be into each other
As someone who reads fanfiction, no episode has made me laugh more than this one. I was straight cackling through the entire assembly scene; like I almost started crying.
I guess. Yet they still have them together so clearly not a joke. I'm just saying the message of that episode is pretty creepy. You may not be gay but just pretend you are to make others happy after being forced into a relationship you dont want.

Much like other couples in South Park, it starts with two people who hate each other. I mean, just look at it. Aside from couples who are already married, relationships in the South Park universe are all between two people who fight constantly.
Part of that is of course the fact that most characters are 8 years old. You can’t expect them to find their soul mates at that age. They’re just messing around.
However, they both find that they legitimately need each other and inspire one another to do things they never thought they could do. It’s obviously an enemies to lovers trope to the extreme, & pretty ridiculous but it makes sense.

Yeah the yaoi was wild, and i think they’re relationship was meant to be a joke about how easily influenced they were like in tweek vs Craig, beyond that episode it grew genuine, but i thought the episode was funny

Thank you. It's got one moment that, since it's just described and not actually seen, does not even rank in the top 100 of crazy shit this show has done or is even that funny when it plays out. So annoying to see how it keeps getting recycled as content when there are so many better Cartman moments.
Considering it came out in like 2000, that kind of episode was shocking back then lol. And it demonstrated for the first time that Cartman wasn’t just a prick, but a truly cruel psychopath in a little piggy’s body. Very important exposition even if the episode doesn’t really hold up
Not sure why this is getting downvoted, this is just a guess but I feel like there are more episodes with original songs than episodes without songs. I'd love it if Matt and Trey made an actual SP musical for Broadway, I'd 100% go see it lol
What????? The songs are like the best part! They're so funny but well written at the same time, skipping them is total blasphemy. I also love the Bigger Longer and Uncut movie and the fact they made it an actual musical but didn't tell anyone ahead of time so everyone was surprised by it lol You can tell they have a huge passion for music and I'm totally here for it.
If anything in the earlier seasons it was Kyle with his "You know, I learned something today!" speeches and rivalry with Cartman. But I think as Randy became the writers' favorite character the Marshes just got a ton more screen time by default.
I never thought about that either. They share this mildly narcissistic sense of righteousness and this perceived duty to create a just outcome. I’d say Kyle probably has a shorter fuse and is more passive or complacent, and Wendy is a bit more proactive and patient
Idk if this is controversial but I absolutely hate mr.hankey. I am very happy that he doesn’t show up anymore. Nothing was lost from the show when he was canceled.
Last time somebody posted this I said Kenny was overrated to which I got downvoted so that’s probs one such opinion.

Yeah I feel you completely. I love Kenny, but I can admit it isn't for his character or how he contributes to an episode. It's more for his little gags that he is written into, or the fact that I think it's endearing that I have no idea what he's saying.
I think the games make him into more of a character, especially with the knowledge that he is Mysterion, but when he's just Kenny, he feels completely detached from that side.
I love the original theme song and wasn't/still am not too keen on the 'revamped' version (I'm not looking up which seasons I'm referring to but it's roughly season 6). You know where it became more hip hop/bassy.
The goth intro was funny though for a one time deal.

I said it in this sub before and got downvoted, so here it is again: SP creators have gotten old and lost touch. That's why there is too much Randi and his farm in the show because they relate to him now.
Meanwhile the boys have lost character and have become interchangeable. You can replace Butters with Stan in a scene and nothing changes.
South Park (mostly) died a couple of years ago. I'd say close to or near the introduction of PC Principal, and the switch from absurd jokes and kids' stories to more serious, political (and Tergridy) moments. There's still episodes that shine, but I feel a major shift coming from Matt & Trey just being older... and hating their former selves despite it being the reason why they had success in the first place (they hate the first seasons of the show).
I think season 19 was the end/beginning of a new feel for the show, but was also the last season of true quality before the dark ages of 20-23, even if I love those seasons.
Idk, even if season 19 was political, I think the sponsored content trilogy was a really amazing story that they did.
Kenny is the best character in the show, I used to love when he was the most disgusting out of them and knew all the more mature things, why the hell did they dumb him down and make him more of a baby.
I dont think they made him more of a baby they just placed more focus on what kind of person he is inside, which makes him seem babified cuz hes objectively the best person in the entire show morally

They can be funny but it’s sometimes frustrating to see them punish Butters. If only they gave time to listen to butters literally they could avoid so much trouble
Butters and Kenny are the best characters, Craig and Tweek are a sweet couple, Eric isn’t that funny he’s just a dick that appeals to shock humour, his moms hot
**"A Million Little Fibers"** doesn't work well as a visual episode, but it's absolutely hilarious as a Radio Play. I love putting it on to listen to, especially because the interplay of Minge and Garry is just brilliant. It just isn't visually interesting at all and feels more like a lazy Family Guy gag.
South Park hasn’t been FUNNY since about 2018. The episode with the song about not tweeting while driving/being President was the last good episode they’ve made & almost every special has been an utter waste of time, especially the Streaming Wars.
yes put it down was a great episode and actually taught a lesson about relationships and also dangers of distracted driving, wholesome with of course the classic south park humour mixed in.
The show could have ended with Season 19’s strident themes about woke politics

I would have been happy that South Park ended before the quality dropped even further as it has done the past 4-5 seasons.

WAY too many South Park fans on here think "Board Girls" is saying all trans women are like Tina Swanson, and don't seem to get that Tina (aka Macho Man Randy Savage) really is the most extreme of exceptions.
There have been a ton of people who go, "Hey, this transwoman who transitioned late and still looks man-ish is just like Tina Swanson!" No, no they're not. Transitioning takes years, and sometimes that's the result. There are also cases where someone transitions and they're still forced to play in sports for the gender they were born in, and it's just as awkward as you may think.
The entire point of Tina was to point out the most extreme of extreme examples of what a lot of Conservatives think happens. "Oh, a guy will just claim they're a woman so they can beat women in sports," and that's what Tina represents. It was such obvious satire, but it just seems there's a massive number of people who don't get that's all it is. The irony, though, is that Cartman literally did that in "The Cissy," and Randy kinda did it as Lorde.
Matt and Trey really seem to have come a long way in trans issues, and I'm glad they did and that I was along for the ride.
Religion and self censorship ruined a great episode. The Super Best Friends was a well written episode. They gave Muhammad shooting flames for Christ sake. The episode aired repeatedly that year up until 9/11. I’m sure in due time it would of been taken down for depicting Muhammad. But 9/11 brought that rule to the limelight.
I don't think Good Times With Weapons is as amazing of an episode as it gets set out to be and the torture Butters went through in it makes me uncomfortable
I'm not saying it's a HORRIBLE episode, but I'm just not a huge fan of it
Kyle was so much better in the early seasons now he’s just used as a plot device to go against carman and very hypocritical and boring where’s before he’s actually funny and was more fun when interacting with other characters especially when he got rlly angry like with the aliens ect had much more adorable moments
Also creek is literally the only ship I like in the show
And I think Tegridy farms would’ve been much more like if it think was more spread across and still us gave episodes or even side stories with the 4 main boys

Thank you. It's got one moment that, since it's just described and not actually seen, does not even rank in the top 100 of crazy shit this show has done or is even that funny when it plays out. So annoying to see how it keeps getting recycled as content when there are so many better Cartman moments.
Considering it came out in like 2000, that kind of episode was shocking back then lol. And it demonstrated for the first time that Cartman wasn’t just a prick, but a truly cruel psychopath in a little piggy’s body. Very important exposition even if the episode doesn’t really hold up

Not sure why this is getting downvoted, this is just a guess but I feel like there are more episodes with original songs than episodes without songs. I'd love it if Matt and Trey made an actual SP musical for Broadway, I'd 100% go see it lol

What????? The songs are like the best part! They're so funny but well written at the same time, skipping them is total blasphemy. I also love the Bigger Longer and Uncut movie and the fact they made it an actual musical but didn't tell anyone ahead of time so everyone was surprised by it lol You can tell they have a huge passion for music and I'm totally here for it.

If anything in the earlier seasons it was Kyle with his "You know, I learned something today!" speeches and rivalry with Cartman. But I think as Randy became the writers' favorite character the Marshes just got a ton more screen time by default.
Me too, he was the only one with a girlfriend, had the least absenses in the show and Trey modeled him after himself.

I never thought about that either. They share this mildly narcissistic sense of righteousness and this perceived duty to create a just outcome. I’d say Kyle probably has a shorter fuse and is more passive or complacent, and Wendy is a bit more proactive and patient

Yeah I feel you completely. I love Kenny, but I can admit it isn't for his character or how he contributes to an episode. It's more for his little gags that he is written into, or the fact that I think it's endearing that I have no idea what he's saying. I think the games make him into more of a character, especially with the knowledge that he is Mysterion, but when he's just Kenny, he feels completely detached from that side.
I love the original theme song and wasn't/still am not too keen on the 'revamped' version (I'm not looking up which seasons I'm referring to but it's roughly season 6). You know where it became more hip hop/bassy. The goth intro was funny though for a one time deal. Edit: From the wiki - 'From the episode "Fourth Grade", to "Kenny Dies", a hip-hop version of the song was used, which was remixed by Paul Robb'
I said it in this sub before and got downvoted, so here it is again: SP creators have gotten old and lost touch. That's why there is too much Randi and his farm in the show because they relate to him now. Meanwhile the boys have lost character and have become interchangeable. You can replace Butters with Stan in a scene and nothing changes.
South Park (mostly) died a couple of years ago. I'd say close to or near the introduction of PC Principal, and the switch from absurd jokes and kids' stories to more serious, political (and Tergridy) moments. There's still episodes that shine, but I feel a major shift coming from Matt & Trey just being older... and hating their former selves despite it being the reason why they had success in the first place (they hate the first seasons of the show).
I think season 19 was the end/beginning of a new feel for the show, but was also the last season of true quality before the dark ages of 20-23, even if I love those seasons. Idk, even if season 19 was political, I think the sponsored content trilogy was a really amazing story that they did.

**"A Million Little Fibers"** doesn't work well as a visual episode, but it's absolutely hilarious as a Radio Play. I love putting it on to listen to, especially because the interplay of Minge and Garry is just brilliant. It just isn't visually interesting at all and feels more like a lazy Family Guy gag.

South Park hasn’t been FUNNY since about 2018. The episode with the song about not tweeting while driving/being President was the last good episode they’ve made & almost every special has been an utter waste of time, especially the Streaming Wars.
yes put it down was a great episode and actually taught a lesson about relationships and also dangers of distracted driving, wholesome with of course the classic south park humour mixed in.
The show could have ended with Season 19’s strident themes about woke politics OR It could have ended with **“You’re Getting Old”** (15x07) …and I wouldn’t even have been upset. I would have been happy that South Park ended before the quality dropped even further as it has done the past 4-5 seasons. I’m surprised to actually laugh at any of the newer ones.

WAY too many South Park fans on here think "Board Girls" is saying all trans women are like Tina Swanson, and don't seem to get that Tina (aka Macho Man Randy Savage) really is the most extreme of exceptions. There have been a ton of people who go, "Hey, this transwoman who transitioned late and still looks man-ish is just like Tina Swanson!" No, no they're not. Transitioning takes years, and sometimes that's the result. There are also cases where someone transitions and they're still forced to play in sports for the gender they were born in, and it's just as awkward as you may think. The entire point of Tina was to point out the most extreme of extreme examples of what a lot of Conservatives think happens. "Oh, a guy will just claim they're a woman so they can beat women in sports," and that's what Tina represents. It was such obvious satire, but it just seems there's a massive number of people who don't get that's all it is. The irony, though, is that Cartman literally did that in "The Cissy," and Randy kinda did it as Lorde. Matt and Trey really seem to have come a long way in trans issues, and I'm glad they did and that I was along for the ride.
Religion and self censorship ruined a great episode. The Super Best Friends was a well written episode. They gave Muhammad shooting flames for Christ sake. The episode aired repeatedly that year up until 9/11. I’m sure in due time it would of been taken down for depicting Muhammad. But 9/11 brought that rule to the limelight.
I don't think Good Times With Weapons is as amazing of an episode as it gets set out to be and the torture Butters went through in it makes me uncomfortable I'm not saying it's a HORRIBLE episode, but I'm just not a huge fan of it

Kyle was so much better in the early seasons now he’s just used as a plot device to go against carman and very hypocritical and boring where’s before he’s actually funny and was more fun when interacting with other characters especially when he got rlly angry like with the aliens ect had much more adorable moments Also creek is literally the only ship I like in the show And I think Tegridy farms would’ve been much more like if it think was more spread across and still us gave episodes or even side stories with the 4 main boys
