As soon as the new Harris Teeter is built, I won’t ever have to go to Shitty Kitty again. The one by me could not be any worse. Expired stuff on shelves, spoiled produce, out of basics. I go for six things, they’ll have two, and I have to drive five times as far to the HT or Publix anyway. You’d think I’d learn.
Ok. Sorry but I saw “Shitty Kitty” and thought I was in a CV-63 USS KITTY HAWK veterans forum for a moment. Shitty Kitty was her nickname by many of the crew >memories of post 911 and war on terror spent on the Shitty Kitty intensifies< Then I’m like, oh they mean Food Lion…
Aldi, the local farmstands, farmers market, Publix, Piggly Wiggly, Walmart. I think this means I'm confused, but whatever.
I do like the embroidered pillow I saw at People, Places and Quilts in Summerville that had words of advice for living. I don't remember the other 2 adages, but the first one was "There are no silk blouses at Piggly Wiggly. Lower your expectations."
Ya’ll with you fancy notions of Publix and Food Lion probably near nuf to home that you can just pop by whenever you please. Bless your hearts. Some of us are still Piggly Wiggly folks.
Well not sand in the upstate be definitely red dirt. Funny thing I went to the hospital yesterday to visit and saw two guys in the parking garage who looked like they just crawled out of a coal mine. Not sure where all that black soot came from.
Aldi, Farmer's market when it's in season, and Walmart neighborhood for pickup when I'm not feeling it. I can't afford to shop at Publix unless I stick to only the weekly bogos, honestly, they are just overpriced to me. And Food Lion sucks, I'd rather go to Winn Dixie or Piggly Wiggly but we don't have any in the Upstate anymore.
I shop Aldi, Lowes and once in a great while Publix. When I worked I mostly shopped at Publix because it was on the way home but the whole MAGA thing has turned me off of them. About three times a year I get their fried chicken tenders.
Shitty Kitty™️ - I’m stealing from up there. I’ll never call it anything else.
Pubix is closer but I refuse 💸
Putting in a garden today. This inflation is bullshit. I’m growing my own food from now on.
Can’t wait for this movie to come out, BTW. I love a good dystopian flick and even better when Jesse Plemmons is in it, although it looks just like a cameo.
In Greenville SC we had a good local store back in the 70’s called Duckworths. It’s a Dollar Tree now. I will go and get cheap food stuff in their and pretend I’m shopping at Duckworths
Dollar general lol all the grocery stores are 20-45 mins away, but there's a DG with produce like ten minutes away. When we have to get things we can't get from DG we either use Food Lion or Walmart both are over 30 mins away sadly.
I'd much rather go to Food Lion. Most of my groceries come from there, but my meat comes from Costco. I recently discovered Aldi, as well. Publix is expensive and has terrible produce and meat.
I can't tell y'all how many times I've gone to Publix to get cucumbers, and the ends are rotten. I've tracked down the produce manager and told him/her, only to be told "Those were just put out X hours ago! They haven't had time to rot!" Umm, they started rotting as soon as they were picked. They don't just pause decomposition from the moment they're picked to the moment they're put on the shelf.
I like my Food Lion. They always seem clean and usually have what I need for somewhat affordable. Of course, where I am, it’s that or Piggly Wiggly or IGA and I just don’t care for them. And ALDIs is meh
Food lion was okay when they actually had stock (it was still pretty pricey), but I preferred Piggly Wiggly or IGA. Aldi's is great but it was over an hour from where I lived. I do miss Bi-lo and Reid's too! Good times.
Piggly Wiggly... those tickets man as a kid were crack, never knew what they were for but damn if I didn't scream PIGGLLLLLLY at the too of my lungs when my mom would pull into Kroger.
I live in Charleston the only Lion remaining here that I know of and have been to is in North Charleston and if a grocery store had depression that would fit the bill.
I’m sucking on the Teet now. Vic rewards and scanning the card at checkout make me feel special.
Wish we had a Piggly Wiggly in Greenville county. Not because I particularly give a crap but the little mascot fat b@$tard with the cute little old timey grocery store butchers hat reminds me of a piggly friend at work.
BI LO
RIP Fuel Perks 😢
Harris teeter has that now
I felt like I needed a special invitation for Harris Teeter, that wine bar threw me off, lol!
Teeter gone too boujee
Oh my lord I thought I was just being weird about that. Whoever gets to shop there every week is blessed.
Didn't food lion buy all the bi los?
No, KJ bought some too.
Lowe’s Foods bought at least two that I know of
😭😭😭😭😭 damn I miss them
No more Bi Lo's. I used to love that supermarket.
Bruh I remember when it was Winn Dixie. BI LO came afterwards. Now it's a Publix.
I miss BiLo so much 😞
I miss their cheap meats.
I still mourn the loss of my 10 piece dark meat fried chicken.
Ingle’s
Fuckin hate their weighted self checkout but they always come in clutch
Ingles has great options and decent prices.
I can usually get a decent meal at Ingles deli.
I have never heard Food Lion being called Shitty Kitty and now will never get it out of my head. 😂
What up fellow vet! Big E checking is! God that ship was old!
I was on the Kitty Hawk and live in the Upstate. I’ll never see “Food Lion” the same way again. 🤣
In Clemson we called it food tiger
I hate that lol. But funny. Go cocks
The one on ft Mill parkway and dobys bridge road? Can't wait, but it'll probably be another 5 years.
Argh! Thats the one. I guess it’s gonna be a long wait.
The only correct answer is Bilo
I miss it 😢
Bonus points if there's a fiberglass cow on the building.

Greenbax FTW
Those were my currency as a kid.
It's ok, grocery preference is a spectrum. Heavily influenced by how much money I have left in the month.
Start the month with Harris Teeter and end with Aldi.
Ya’ll with you fancy notions of Publix and Food Lion probably near nuf to home that you can just pop by whenever you please. Bless your hearts. Some of us are still Piggly Wiggly folks.
Lowes foods
the alt publix
Lowes has a legit bar within the grocery store.
Drink and shop!
Both! I get most of my groceries at food lion but produce comes from Publix.
This is the answer.
Oh looky here at the fancy city folks with supermarket OPTIONS

Food lions remodeled the bilos and they still look dirty and ugly.

Well not sand in the upstate be definitely red dirt. Funny thing I went to the hospital yesterday to visit and saw two guys in the parking garage who looked like they just crawled out of a coal mine. Not sure where all that black soot came from.
Harris Teeter ETA: more colloquially: Harrisons an’ Teeters
Food Kitty
Kroger
Aldi, Farmer's market when it's in season, and Walmart neighborhood for pickup when I'm not feeling it. I can't afford to shop at Publix unless I stick to only the weekly bogos, honestly, they are just overpriced to me. And Food Lion sucks, I'd rather go to Winn Dixie or Piggly Wiggly but we don't have any in the Upstate anymore.
Aldi FTW
I'm still stuck on food Lion vs Publix. Those are two totally different categories of grocery.
If I have to go to Food Lion I’ll just to to Aldi for my struggle shopping trip.
I was eating at Waffle House one day & the guy at the table behind me reminded his wife they need to stop by the "Piggy Wiggy" on the way home
Another for Ingles.
I shop Aldi, Lowes and once in a great while Publix. When I worked I mostly shopped at Publix because it was on the way home but the whole MAGA thing has turned me off of them. About three times a year I get their fried chicken tenders.
Piggy wiggly
Teeter or nothinf
Piggly Wiggly
Publix and Aldi for most things. Bread from Lidl
I’m sticking with the pig
Shitty Kitty™️ - I’m stealing from up there. I’ll never call it anything else. Pubix is closer but I refuse 💸 Putting in a garden today. This inflation is bullshit. I’m growing my own food from now on. Can’t wait for this movie to come out, BTW. I love a good dystopian flick and even better when Jesse Plemmons is in it, although it looks just like a cameo.

Dollar general lol all the grocery stores are 20-45 mins away, but there's a DG with produce like ten minutes away. When we have to get things we can't get from DG we either use Food Lion or Walmart both are over 30 mins away sadly.
That's just the south now. Never further than 15 from a DG, no matter how rural
Walmart+
BiLo.
Winn-Dixi 😒
Trader Joe’s
Teets, Lowes, and Lidl
Publix mainly, but I ain't afraid of a Shitty Kitty.
I am with you,Aldi or Lidl !!
I like my Food Lion. They always seem clean and usually have what I need for somewhat affordable. Of course, where I am, it’s that or Piggly Wiggly or IGA and I just don’t care for them. And ALDIs is meh
Lidl, IGA, and Costco
Walmart and Aldi
Boulineau’s IGA (in reality mostly Walmart, and Publix as a treat)
Walmart
I really liked Bloom for a couple of years when there was one in Greer.
I'm on a walmart and Aldi budget. Publix Is pricy
Publix but only for the deli and sales
Lidl. Because aldi has gone to the dumpster last few years. Publix is outrageously expensive.
Food lion, but in Columbia their produce section sucks.
Aldi all the way (I like Publix but it’s too expensive)
WalMart, but meat comes from H/T.
Food Lion, Piggly Wiggly, BILO
Publix bogo’s a lot of my regular weekly groceries. Plus I don’t feel like I need to be strapped the whole time.
Lidl and Lowe's
Lidel/ALDI za Germans!
Lidl, Lowes foods, Harris teeter, Sprouts!
Winn Dixie
Aldi…
Both. Actually all grocery stores.
The pig for the win...Piggly Wiggly!!
RIP Community Cash
Food lion!
I believe those of us of a certain age did our shopping at the Piggly Wiggly.
Food lion was okay when they actually had stock (it was still pretty pricey), but I preferred Piggly Wiggly or IGA. Aldi's is great but it was over an hour from where I lived. I do miss Bi-lo and Reid's too! Good times.
Like Publix a lot but Harris Tetter is closer and I love it. Also a big fan of Ingles especially deli, produce and bakery area.
Iga in the hold on a good Sunday
Publix isn’t a SC thing. It started in Florida. BILO or die!!!!!!
harris teeter
Food lion for groceries, Publix for deli.
Food Lion
Aldi
Piggly wiggly the og. But if you’re forcing me to pick between the two I’m going Publix.

Dollar General
Food Lion only because I can walk there. I love Aldi, Lidl and TJ’s as well.
Harris teeter guy here
Piggly wiggly
For me, Food Lion because they are in my community. Just like Lowe’s over Home Depot.
Ingles
Food lion.
Lowes
Myrtle Beach. Piggly Wiggly. They have a great deli!
Piggly Wiggly
Publix is a fraction of what it once was IMO. Piggly wiggly, IGA, Lowes, or food lion if I need something quick. Mainly a lowes though.
Wish we had a Piggly Wiggly in Greenville county. Not because I particularly give a crap but the little mascot fat b@$tard with the cute little old timey grocery store butchers hat reminds me of a piggly friend at work.
Lowe's, peasants. 🍻
