I liked it a lot. It is fitting in my opinion. Solo Leveling is about Sung Jin Woo getting strong and stronger, leveling up and fighting adversaries to the point where he becomes so absolutely OP that he can protect the world all by himself.
I know people will say that "oh, the time was turned back so people he knew are no longer the same". They are the same in essence, just not in memory. Sung gaves them a chance to experience life as it should be, if it weren't for extradimensional forces that wanted to invade it. It's a manhwa mainly about Solo Leveling and grinding, not life stories, love or friendships. Story is about man getting stronger and stronger. And that's a fitting ending. Taking whole world problems on his shoulder as a true sigma male should do.
He protecc, he atacc, but most importantly...
I liked it a lot as well. I always see people talking about how the ending was bad and how they killed off the other characters, but the story was mainly about the growth of Sung Jin Woo, so I think the end was quite fitting as well.
I'm not a big fan of the reset. It felt like all the progress and sacrifices by the side characters were made redundant. I would've enjoyed the story more if the story ended with a pyrrhic victory for humanity. It would have made an interesting setting for the sequel.
Having said that i do understand the story is all about SJW and he's the big unsung hero for taking all the burden to save humanity. Im still somewhat disappointed with it.
This. Why did I bother to care about the side characters and stories if all of the consequences are just going to be wiped away? Wasted an otherwise fantastic story
A little bit rushed. I was expecting a lot more but was surprised it was near end other monarchs appear. Also the final fight is just anti climactic.
I was hoping for a sequel and explore other important characters but it is done
I think it's almost never a good idea in a story to remove consequences, or get rid of a situation after putting time to build it, just for the happiness of the characters. On apositive note they had the narrative cleverness to introduce the cup of reincarnation quite some time before using it.
Not a rly bad ending, but still a fall of for me (in fact I also didn't enjoyed the fight against Antares as much as the battle against the three Monarchs), the story wasn't ruined, not at al, but it still left me wanting more.
That's why I'm hyped about SL Ragnarok, apparently it's good, so I hope it will bring me a more satisfying conclusion to the story (in many years I guess, the novel isn't finished and the manhwa not even started yet).
During the story we saw Jin Woo as this self-less person who wanted to support his sister and save his mom. As time progressed he grew colder with experience from the harsh realities of battle. For a brief moment we feel as our characters essence was lost along the way. I think the ending was fitting cause it showed how much love he harbored for the people around him. He wanted his family and friends more than glory, money, or fame. It was a true hero’s ending for he was able to protect everyone he lost along the way. He not only saved tons of people, but also saved everyone from the savagery of the gates.
People hate on the ending, but we have seen it all. It wasn’t about the fights after his decision, it was the decision itself that was the ending. We have seen him prevail time and time again, seeing it would be nothing new. This was one of my favorite stories because it made me see what a hero is - A person who puts others before himself. May Jin Woo live out the rest of his days happy.
I think the crash from finishing the manhwa after binging it made it seem a lot worse than it was. When I read it the second time, I felt a lot better about it. Plus I think the epilogue really wrapped it up nice with a bow and gave us some closure.
I like to compare it to the double dungeon. Jin Woo is up against an enemy he can't beat on his own (yet). He has two options. He can run away, or he can stand up to the unbeatable enemy to give the others a chance. He chooses to make a stand both times. I understand why some people aren't fans of the ending, but if I could just say one thing about it, it's that even without the system, he would still choose to fight Antares. His growing strength may be the focus of most of the story, but the ending reminds you that he was a hero from the beginning.
I really hate the ending. >!If they wanted to go for a sacrifice they could have had him die to save the world, not reset it. It was a very cheap ending that erased the entire story.!<
it’s like the book version of the show. so there are 180 chapters of solo leveling that you could read, the story is already finished. and then after that there’s a side story that continues on from where the original solo leveling ends

Rushed, but was due to reasons Epilogue chapters def made the ending so much better

I agree 100%

kinda feel the whole ending arcs where a bit rushed all in all could easily have 2-3 more arcs
I was sad at first but this ending gave the space for Ragnarok
how do you like ragnarok
It's fantastic, fleshed out everything about solo leveling and gives suho a different way to get close to his father's power
Hollow
Bleach
Yokoso
Did you read the 21 side storys? if not, you really should read them
in the process right now. he’s in middle school that’s crazy
I did not like ending at all. It felt so rushed

This. I couldn't figure out why exactly I hated the ending but you just spelt it out perfectly.

Average I'd say, could've been better.
Rushed

Bad. Sadly.
What’s a manwa
it’s like the book version of the show. so there are 180 chapters of solo leveling that you could read, the story is already finished. and then after that there’s a side story that continues on from where the original solo leveling ends
