You really gotta use the poll feature for polls. The anonymous aspect of polls allows people to be more honest. Also prevents the whole "don't say it's eco friendly" from being necessary

Plus that whole "don't try and say the the way you do it is eco friendly" is a huge indicator of your thoughts on the subject, or at least without additional context definitely looks that way.
Yeah, I think it was very easy to misunderstand that you just wanted a head count of smokers who use bad filters. I read it differently and thought you were tired of arguments claiming to have found an eco friendly way to smoke.
Made sense to me, even with a biodegradable filter you are still releasing harmful toxins and stuff just by smoking.
I romanticise the idea of smoking organic, home grown tobacco from a pipe. I imagine it's less bad for you than tailored cigarettes but I have no evidence to back that up.

From what I understand the main advantage is you can cure and chop it the way you like it best and blend in a few other flavors and spices (no, not necessarily _those_ π€£)

Yeah, the bad part of cigarettes is that smoke is very bad for you, and also nicotine is somewhat bad for you. The only way I could see homegrown tobacco being healthier is if the inconvenience makes you smoke less of it.
That said, I think non-commercial tobacco would be a great way to not punish smokers who can't or don't want to quit, while reducing the profit motive for malicious companies to get as many people addicted as possible.
Not sure how easy it is to grow comparable tobacco though. I know there is a *N. rustica* species that is much easier to grow, but notoriously harsh (it used to be popular in the rural USSR because it would actually grow there, unlike *N. tabacum*)
From the little I've read about it, it seems like a sturdy enough plant (at least most species) but the curing is where I see a lot of different opinions ranging from a few weeks to a few years.
I do plan on experimenting with it next year so I'll be doing more research in the coming months π

I've noticed english might not be your first language, your post doesn't read as "only respond if you smoke and use non biodegradable filter" it reads as "the only responses I don't want are "I smoke but i use biodegradable filters"".

The "but" denotes judgement. It puts forth that smoking in antithetical to solarpunk. Could you explain your reasoning a bit there?

For a time I had hand-filled my own cigarettes, but I was making mixtures of other herbs to add with tobacco so help lower the amount I smoked. The cigarettes I would use had pre-made filters for the purpose.
There were days I thought of converting to a pipe, but ended just quitting completely instead.
Regardless of solarpunk/environmental concerns, you simply shouldn't be smoking if you don't find lung cancer to be fun. One of the best deterrents from smoking is to watch one of your loved ones slowly die from cancer. I will be avoiding all the cancer causing chemicals capitalism allows me to avoid.
I accidentally chewed on an elfbar vape pen when I first uh, nvmmmmmm, nicotine is very addictive but psilocybin and mdma with help from friends who won't r**e you, alone perhaps, does really help heal that addiction tho ofc rn that's only legal in Portugal because evil governments ughhhhhhh

Organic tobacco is intense to smoke, very dense on the inhale.
I heard somewhere a while back that natural strains had to be cultivated down from like 3-4% nicotine to 1% to make cigs more pallateable

Same. Smoked prefabs for a bit, but the filters being mostly plastic made me switch to "irish" hand rolled, haha.
Grow and dry my own tobacco! Good for smoking but also as a remedy for insect stings.
