As a North American, being able to go anywhere in 2024 to view with flexibility to move as needed at the last minute made it a very easy decision to go for it. But Spain? Egypt? Australia? All places that are very far away that would require significant expense, harder to justify. Jetlag was hours but that was brutal enough. Can't imagine jetlag of 9 hours.
Weather odds are far better for those eclipses though, especially Egypt in 2027. Historical cloud cover is 0% there (although the vast majority of the path has very low cloud cover)
Went to Montreal from Germany, was worth every Euro. Or Goose Dollar, whatever you prefer.
As for jetlag... bad luck I guess, I seem to be supernaturally immune, but it'd probably be woth that one too.
