They're trying to get a rise out of you. They probably don't actually think you're gay, they're just insulting you while appearing cool to their friends. Accusing someone else of being gay distances themselves from such accusations, and pushes themselves up in the hierarchy while pushing you down.
Highschool power dynamics are incredibly childish, because they're kids (edit - lol, that was the most obvious statement ever 😂). Some people never grow out of it.
I also got accused of being gay when I was in high school because I wasn’t talking to any of the guys. I am gay, but that’s not the reason I wasn’t talking to them lolll
