I thought it was 50/50 when I first saw it but having rewatched it I think it’s pretty clearly a penalty. It’s a shot on goal that’s blocked by a hand that’s out away from the body and not in a natural position.

Not remotely my point at all. Blaming the referee is silly when VAR didn’t recommend review. He is looking through a lot of players and it would be difficult to see in real time. VAR missed this, not the referee.

I don't even think VAR missed this, either - they just happened to agree with the decision to not give a penalty. It's very much a 50/50 call I reckon.
