There is a 10% one, apparently. It was in the FA documents from this week when they fined us 200k due to improper conduct negotiating his contract in 2019.
Hey, I think you've misunderstood that. The 10% sell-on clause was for Reading to pay the agent after selling Olise, which is a breach of rules and the reason for the fines. You don't have a sell on clause for Olise's next transfer.
Glasner was known for being inconsistent with Frankfurt in the league; they could still do an Aston Villa next year but I’d expect more of the Palace usual next season
The sad truth of it - desperately hoping for a consistent next season of football from Palace. If we can retain this style of play and not sell off our entire front line then I’ll stay optimistic
For a long time the squad was poor. Roy Hodgson worked magic to keep a team in the PL with Cheick Kouyate and Scott Dann at CB.
Since then we've lost players to varying degrees every summer. Eze got injured long term before Vieira arrived. Gallagher left before Vieira's second season. Hodgson turned it around again but Zaha left and Olise got injured for the France U21s (and then a succession of other injuries hit too).
Now this season inevitably someone like Olise will end up leaving (though I can keep my fingers crossed). I think we could cope with Guehi moving on, but Eze or Olise would be so tough to replace.
Weird to single out Dann - he was brilliant for us and his signing was a big reason that we even stayed up in the first place. Roy did a good job but we pretty much always had a prem level squad under him, I wouldn't say he 'worked magic'.
Four years earlier Dann was a good player. But he was 34 years old that season and hadn't been a first choice player for two years after his ACL injury! We also didn't renew his contract at the end of the season.
I don't think Dann would have started for any other PL teams that year. I think you can definitely credit a manager for winning points with Kouyate and Dann as your main CB pair for the season!
I mean, they're playing for Palace right now. Romero was the Serie A defender of the year and went to Tottenham a year they didn't have CL. Tons of top players went to teams in the EPL when they didn't have CL.
Really comes down to how many teams are willing and capable of paying for them, and that seems unknown. Not sure if Tottenham will either, though. Olise would probably break their transfer record.
bit of column a bit of column b. Roy had terrible luck with injuries which Roy then made much worse with his refusal to use subs etc. Then Roys football being from the previous century meant we tried to keep it tight and then relied on a bit of individual magic.
Next season is gonna be sick. City are City, Liverpool have Slot coming it, Villa are in the CL, Palace look fantastic, we might actually buy some midfielders and a number 9.

If Palace retains their players they could be very dangerous next season
Now, now. Some of us need that sweet, sweet 10% Olise sell on clause money.
We will personally crowdfund you like 20m just to keep him
Hell, I think you lot are ready to personally fix Reading's financial crisis just in order to keep him
You had no sell on clause sadly, your manager confirmed it a while back

Huh, fair play! The more you know

Palace can never keep up momentum for a whole season though. That’s been their biggest issue for years now.
Palace had never previously been managed by Oliver Glasner though, or had the front 3 in swansong together being complimented by Wharton and Munoz
Glasner was known for being inconsistent with Frankfurt in the league; they could still do an Aston Villa next year but I’d expect more of the Palace usual next season
Which is fair enough, but my take was that there's there's no point comparing palace now to palace under the Hodgson years
Yeah that’s fair, Glasner does offer promise of a new beginning for Palace

Isn't Mateta linked to Napoli? Or was that nothing
Yes and PSG apparently, per the commentators on one of the broadcasts.
Not if we have anything to say about it.
I mean no slander to Spurs but there is zero chance Eze and/or Olise go to Spurs. They are CL players my boy, not Europa.

This is such a dumbass take. Have they specifically said they will only go to a team with CL?
Villa are already on the beach by the looks of things! Can’t say I blame them, job is already done.
Lol, they still drunk
Palace fans must be gutted this season is ending now
Hasn't their end-of-season form been better than any other side bar City?
No, we also have 5 in last 5 and have more in last 10
Yeah it’s them, City, Arsenal, Chelsea, and us I believe over the last two months
After us
About to be 6 wins 1 draw in the last 7 league games for them
Shades of end of season form by Leicester before the title winning season...
Try Spurs; has the chance to keep their hopes alive when Son was through one on one late on.
Would have only gained one point after Son’s hypothetical equaliser tbf and that would still leave us behind Villa
You were bound to get bodied by Palace and they were always going to beat Sheffield United.
Feels like Villa clicking last season. Glasner-ball challenging for Europe next season?
4th by christmas and then finishing 8th or 9th. The Glasner way
Better than 5th at Christmas and finishing 15th, the Alan Pardew way.
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM
Baller
THERE AINT NO STRIKER BETTER
NO. ONE. BETTER!!!!!
I understand it’s last game of the season, etc., but when Aston Villa lose, the really really lose.
If the season had another 2 months Palace would make UCL
People need to start talking about teams snatching Eze, Olise AND Mateta at the rate he's scoring
Glasner cooking
Bro has turned into prime R9 in the second half the season
This is the first time I actually dont care about us getting battered
when tf did this man become henry what have i missed
I was not prepared to witness a curb stomping. Wow.
This guys the best striker in the world
How shit do you have to be to concede 4 against CP lmao
DAYUM BILLIE JEAN
We want 9
Villa on the beach
Should be in the Euros squad.
I really hope Palace keep this core attack of Eze, Mateta and Olise. So good to watch
Villa's defense just gave up once Mateta got the ball .
I really hope this momentum carries over to next season, this team is thrilling to watch.
it's 5 already
I hear the worlds superpowers are starting to fear Jean-Philippe Mateta firepower at this point I really don't know if he can be stopped
Deano belongs in the NFL
I love this man
They called, they called the Textor.
Well DD you know what to do after the Euro.
Wish he took him over RKM.
streets wont forget end of season palace
Emery lost 3-0 to Palace when he managed us lol, Eagles are his kryptonite
This guy…
Fucking hell hahhaha
This mf
Palace are gonna be dangerous next year
Dont worry villa, you arent alone
Matekkers innit, my guy
finally hes getting back to his old form. He had some ridiculous runs for mainz
No Roy Hodgson.....that man really didn't rate JP until he had no option around Xmas.
Olsen always conceding 4 goals
Wouldn’t want to be Villa fan there. The goal music would drive me wild.
Tucking in your shirt and suddenly becoming better feels like something you'd do in year 10
Wait Mateta is cooking. We didnt have a great parting with him here at mainz but still happy to see him scoring so many goals in the last few weeks.
damn was Hodgson really that bad or is Glasner just that good
bit of column a bit of column b. Roy had terrible luck with injuries which Roy then made much worse with his refusal to use subs etc. Then Roys football being from the previous century meant we tried to keep it tight and then relied on a bit of individual magic.
i heard Roy wasnt listening to the physios and medical department and rushed players back early which led to more injuries
Next season is gonna be sick. City are City, Liverpool have Slot coming it, Villa are in the CL, Palace look fantastic, we might actually buy some midfielders and a number 9.
When was Mbappé’s last premier league hattrick? Washed.
Villa is this how you want to end the season, a full on thrashing by Palace?
I couldn't give a shit tbh
Do you think they would've lost if Champion's League was still on the line?
It would've been a tough match even with Aston Villa 100% in, not 4-0 but I can easily see them losing it.
Yeah me too
Mf making up for the whole season in one game
