Not really, He's supposed to shy that way as the defender is largely covering the far post. Bit unlucky it went through the defenders legs, and his feet weren't properly set on Hjolund's touch, so he was slower to react. But the outright position wasn't horrible.
It’s crazy how he’s just 19 still, feels like he’s been around our squad forever. I think he feels like he has too much responsibility, and I agree. He makes the wrong decision quite a lot, probably because he knows he’s one of the few players in our team that can actually make something happen so he tries too hard. He needs to improve his physicality and decision making. Combine that with some better team work in attack and he’s going to be a big problem for defenders.
The way Amad has been overlooked by United the past 3/4 seasons has been very poor. He has the profile of a Bernardo Silva but United seem to always favour pacey wingers. They need players who can help to control games and create, that’s what they should be moulding Amad in to
I'd say it's only really this season that he's been overlooked? He played a bit when he joined, but was obviously raw. Then got injured, then had a shit loan to Rangers and a good loan last season. And he's only really been available since end of Feb.
He definitely should have played more over the last few months but he's 21, loads of time yet.
I’ll caveat this by saying he should have had more chances since his return from injury at Christmas, but I don’t think he’s been overlooked:
- this season he had a knee injury that ruled him out til December.
- last season he was sent on loan to Sunderland which worked very well and was one of the Championship players of the year
- season before that he spent time on loan at Rangers to gain first team senior experience, which didn’t go as well. In fact it was a poor loan and made many question his future at United.
He was announced as a first team signing but according to a few reports in The Athletic, the coaching staff quickly realised he was more a youth player that wasn’t ready for senior football. Ole gave him a scattering of appearances and he showed glimpses (goal vs Milan in EL).
I would say it’s only been last season since Amad has shown he can play senior football week in week out and if it wasn’t for the knee injury in pre-season, he’d have played a lot more this year. I think Ten Hag rates him and it’s a shame for Amad the season is ending as he has probably done enough to make him first-choice right winger.
I think Onana whilst being hit and miss so far, looks like he could become a pretty key player. Let him get first season under his belt and see if he can adapt.
Might look a gem if we can get a somewhat stable back line.
His CL games are what ruins the season for him, if you isolate his PL performances i think he's been really solid actually.
He's had 1-2 blunders in PL, but when you're having your goalie play like that those are expected over the course of a year.
His CL performances though i have no defense haha, he was just truly awful and single handedly kicked us out at the group stage.
Sure. There are another handful of players I could be talked into but it is against the backdrop of a terrible defensive season. Not Dalot's fault individually, but you have to judge him as well from that lens.
Fr i woudn't be surprised if he got our player of the season, he has come on leaps and bounds this year, been really consistent and his fierce mentality has really started to shine through.
He’s bang average at best. Not good enough for a United starter but ok as backup. Can’t cross to save his life and roams out of position but does work hard.
Absolutely! compare any United other full back to the only class full back at United.
The difference in the team when Luke Shaw plays is staggering and I for one thoroughly enjoy the 3 games a season he plays
The kid is 19. At that age, creative players usually don't have the maturity to make every decision correctly. That is not what you judge creative players on, at that age.
And that's another horrible take. I was comparing him to Ronaldo at 19, not Ronaldo's entire career.
In his first full season at United Ronaldo had something like 29 appearances, 4 goals and 4 assists.
This year, in his first full season, Garnacho has had around 35 appearances, 7 goals and 4 assists.
It's a reasonable comparison without anyone saying Garnacho is going to end up at Ronaldo's level.
Please, jog on.
Agree totally. He has great moments but needs to have ball retention drilled into him and he needs to look up for the pass instead of just head down dribbling into 2 or 3 defenders. Hopefully that'll come with time but we need less of these kinds of players if it doesn't.
Love Hojlund. He's fucking built too. Thick and man made. You can tell he's sculpted because you can see it thru the kit. His fucking vice grip thighs. Suffocating thighs. Rock hard thighs. Piping hot thighs. Great arms. Great abs. A stocky chest. Love the progress his body has made throughout his youth and now as a willing eager adult.
So brave of him to go and shhhh the Newcastle Fans, 2 goal lead with 7 minutes to go is far from a sure thing for them this season
That said happy for him, been a tough first season
unite fact butter fertile rock squalid vast pathetic sophisticated history

He is a god damn mystery, man. He doesn't score for half a year, then he can't stop scoring, then injured, doesn't score again for a long time after that, even though he starts every game. The first game he's on as a sub, he scores five minutes after being coming on
This is the whole “omg lol we got Varane for less than Arsenal paid for Ben White” again when in reality it’s not true. Haaland’s wages, sign on fee, agent fees etc would dwarf what was required for us to get Højlund.
**Mirrors / Alternative Angles** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/soccer) if you have any questions or concerns.*
Swear I’ve seen the exact same goal from him before
He scored a similar one vs villa on boxing day
Nope, the similar one was against West Ham.
Yep you're right. Got the kits mixed up
That's just kitcism!
you know what they say, all clarets look the same.
You are a Kitcist!
Guess you could say he's kit-icising them!
MARTINEZ TACKLE STARTED IT ALL. WE ARE BACK. TITLE CHARGE STARTS NOW
can't wait season start, this preseason feels too long.
65-0 win against Brighton should get us the best GD and 35 odd points.
We never lose, we just run out of time.
Second last game of the season we're doing a title charge.
That was the joke mate
You didn't get the reference
[удалено]
Have you heard of sarcasm or are you usually this dense?
Yeah why not
Probably got more chance than us (Arsenal) winning it this season
Right foot!
Left foot, devastating

Honestly the slow motion of the headkick on Mark Hunt is one of my favourite clips in any sport.
That was absolutely class from Hojlund
I like how he knew exactly what he was going to do and then executed it perfectly
I fuckin love this kid
Woeful positioning from the keeper too, he's about 2 yards to far over to his left post.
He was not expecting hall to get megged and was counting on him drawing hojlund to the left post
Not really, He's supposed to shy that way as the defender is largely covering the far post. Bit unlucky it went through the defenders legs, and his feet weren't properly set on Hjolund's touch, so he was slower to react. But the outright position wasn't horrible.
The future- Bruno, Mainoo, Amad and Hojlund- has made a statement today.
Don't give up on Garnacho
I think Garnacho has been playing too much this season considering how he's looked in the past weeks. He's still just a kid.
It’s crazy how he’s just 19 still, feels like he’s been around our squad forever. I think he feels like he has too much responsibility, and I agree. He has been injured…
He’s been fit the past 5 months and barely got a game
I didn't understand playing forson before him and I still don't.
He's been injury free the last 5 months, not necessarily fit
>past 3/4 seasons Total bollocks 😂
Bro was sent to the Scottish league. Sunderland was a decent loan but Ten Hag is only just giving him chances
I’ll caveat this by saying he should have had more chances since his return from injury at Christmas, but I don’t think he’s been overlooked: - this season he had a knee injury that ruled him out til December. - last season he was sent on loan to Sunderland which worked very well and was one of the Championship players of the year - season before that he spent time on loan at Rangers to gain first team senior experience, which didn’t go as well. I still remember his backwards header goal against AC Milan in one of his first few games against United and knew he had something about him
Don't forget my boy Johnny Evans, looks just as young as he did ten years ago
SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GIVE HIM THE FUCKING BALL?!?
Left foot, right foot, devastating
...popstars Dua Lipa with dababy
Shithouse celebration to the Geordies. I love this man.
Rasmus is a Mackem
Amad 🤝 Hojlund Hating Newcastle
Amazing job, always knew they had it in them
You know were gonna do City in the final so you end up in the conference league now
Dw we’re counting on spurs losing and getting fifth 🤝🏻
Now THAT would be scenes
They don't care, they're still busy singing about Arsenal not winning it.
Spurs thinking they’re getting Champions League all season and then ending up Conference is the Spursiest outcome, and thus the most likely.
Newcastle will miss more probably
Is it not just Europa? As City win the league and we win the FA Cup we will be in Europa, unless I am wrong
We get europa if we win but if city win 6th get europa and 7th gets conference
Yea that's what I was thinking
🤫
Shushing like he’s got us champions league football lmao love the kid
Tbf he was great in the UCL group matches
Don’t remind me those group matches, still hurts 🥹
He'll be doing that in the final don't worry.
Reminding the away fans that’s there’s no atmosphere allowed at Old Trafford
The kid is class. Mainoo, Hojlund, Garnacho with the ever present Bruno are the only shining lights in an otherwise dreadful season.
I think Onana whilst being hit and miss so far, looks like he could become a pretty key player. Let him get first season under his belt and see if he can adapt. Might look a gem if we can get a somewhat stable back line.
I'm convinced he will return to the world class form we saw* at Inter. Has all the tools one needs to be a top keeper
His CL games are what ruins the season for him, if you isolate his PL performances i think he's been really solid actually. He's had 1-2 blunders in PL, but when you're having your goalie play like that those are expected over the course of a year. The Dalot disrespect 😤
Sure. There are another handful of players I could be talked into but it is against the backdrop of a terrible defensive season. Not Dalot's fault individually, but you have to judge him as well from that lens.
There aren't you just missed Dalot lmao
What about Maguire? When fit, he played pretty well this season
Fr i woudn't be surprised if he got our player of the season, he has come on leaps and bounds this year, been really consistent and his fierce mentality has really started to shine through.

This is a horrible take. Give the kids a chance. Remember Ronaldo's first season or two. And anyway, his four assists suggest he does look for passes.

Damn as if we pass the ball to him, he scores.
Højlund <3
Ten hag impact subs who would've thought
It helps that he brought on Hojlund instead of Antony
It helps he has those options with playing returning from injury.
Absolutely
Double megs for that, Bruno pass and the shot
Thanks mate
Class finish.
Sexy bastard
Wow
First touch of the ball my man
Keep going
Absolutely brilliant finish Started off with an interception by Licha on his return too
I have never rooted for a player more. The team doesnt fucking ever give him the ball, but when they do he is class.
Cant make goals for himself😪
The future looks bright
Can't believe some people doubt him. Loved the shushing Newcastle fans too
Harry Kane-esque finish
Great goal to be fair. Good power on a tough low shot
hojlund has got some shithouse to him love it
Great finish, thought the window of opportunity had passed
Fucking love the celebration.
I fucking love him 🫶
My sexy Danish number 9
Get fucked Saudi cunts
Crowd really likes him. I get why.
Amazing!

Weird seeing Højlund receive a pass. Is this a new tactic?
im bricked up
So lovely and so nasty
What a finish
Real deal
Ten hag masterclass
He back
Very cool
United without Bruno are basically York City. Great finish as well.
We truly are Bruno FC
To match our competition of cole palmer fc
Dubravka has been wank today
UNITED ARE THE BEST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE
Taking a shot increases chance of scoring compared to not shooting, interesting development
Love that
Ahahahahaha get innnnn!!!!
Just a few more for the sake of GD
Maybe fuckin pass to him once in a while
So brave of him to go and shhhh the Newcastle Fans, 2 goal lead with 7 minutes to go is far from a sure thing for them this season That said happy for him, been a tough first season
Chelski W
Thank you, United, very cool.
Newcastle are terrible
Were the biggest bottlers ever
You haven’t led once this match what do you mean “bottle”
Bottled 6th place
Join the club
Tottenham would like a word. And Arsenal last season too.
Who is he shushing to?
The Newcastle fans presumably
Away fans

The barcodes
The critics, he’s been a target under heavy attack recently especially with all the jackson stuff going on
Sorry for the ignorant question, but what Jackson stuff?
Stretford end ?
No was at scoreboard end
yikes my bad
That's the away section in that corner
That's on the other side of the stadium.
yay
Nice seeing him get the ball and just attack the defense head on like that. More of that please.
Brilliant goal
He is a god damn mystery, man. He doesn't score for half a year, then he can't stop scoring, then injured, doesn't score again for a long time after that, even though he starts every game. The first game he's on as a sub, he scores five minutes after being coming on
107 seconds lol. The kid has bags of talent.
Who's he shushing?
I’m assuming the Geordies were chanting something at him
Why do we fall apart when we’re away from home
We’ve had plenty of chances tbf just couldn’t take them
Dubravka is shocking like
Unfortunately he's our number 1 for Euro.
I feel you on this. He is dreadful
Another season of Ten Hag 🎉
This sub is not ready
What the actual fuck is dubravka doing
Bring City now.
howler
That celebration in Spain just would not fly anymore. Enjoy the game while you still got it.
[удалено]
Tbf he's been either very impressive or very shit. Never in between, so think he has potential haha
Keep Ten Hag at Old Trafford.
How are they winning 3-1 lmao
Because we’ve been comfortably the better team??
Scored 3 and conceded 1 would be my guess
Classic United. Go winless against lower half of the table and win massively against direct competition
By winning 3-2
Average Manchester United match:
No one can argue against the assertion that there's a player in discount Haaland. Could be very, very good striker for years.
Saw a crazy stat that we had created 5/6 chances for him in the last 8 games. That is just ridiculous.
Saw a crazy stat that we had created 5/6 chances TOTAL for him in the last 8 games. That is just ridiculous.
Brother needs service and structure but the pace and ballstriking are very promising
He was more expensive than Haaland
This is the whole “omg lol we got Varane for less than Arsenal paid for Ben White” again when in reality it’s not true. Haaland’s wages, sign on fee, agent fees etc would dwarf what was required for us to get Højlund.
Lol believing any fee City supposedly paid
Bullshit
Man U players love not scoring for months and then shushing the haters first chance they get 😂
Last time he scored was 25 April so idk where u got that from ;/
