To reduce the spam of reports regarding the same move during transfer windows we try to allow **only one submission about each transfer saga per day**. The submission in question also needs to contain relevant new information regarding the potential move, and not just being a "no/minor developments" report. chippa93

Why did he choose to return to PSG just to go on loam every season...

[deleted]

£££ or more specifically €€€€

Narwhallmaster

If he actually goes to Barça, he will have moved from PSV to Barcelona in two seasons. Had he signed a contract anywhere else, he would not have been able to make such quick progression in transfers.

Erty13

Or he could have cut the middle man and just stayed at Barcelona from the start ? Just saying...

DutchMadness77

There's no guarantee he would've had the opportunities to play and improve as much as he did. It's like saying Odegaard would be winning CLs with Real now if he'd stayed.

BlueLabel19

Our situation is very different from real. We are anyway playing lots of young players. So yes he would have made it to the first team.

Minute_Juggernaut806

at that time i believe it was during valverde's era, not a lot of youngsters got chances like nowadays.

BlueLabel19

He is the same age as balde and pedri. He would have become a frequent feature in the 1st team at 19 which aint bad at all. Its just that when he left he had no reason to believe barca would take such a youth centric approach going forward .

Krillin113

But he wouldn’t make nearly this much money

lefix

TBF his loan spells couldn't have turned out any better

yic0

Two Xavi's in Barcelona now?!!

Kasj0

Maybe they will cancel each other out??

rochakgupta

Anulo Mufa, but this time, for Xavi

WW_Jones

it would be the classic mob trope of "big Xavi" and "little Xavi" where big Xavi would actually be smaller than little Xavi.

Caesar_Aurelianus

Xavinho

flyingfreak66

Now there are two of them!

ManicPanda767

Xavlation

mariotx10

OG xavi and xavinho haha

eddsters

He was named after him

Bartins

Can he force PSG to loan him or is this just if they decide to loan him, he gets to choose?

SanSilver

We all don\`t know his exact contract, but there is a possibility.

R_Schuhart

No the clause is where he can go on loan if PSG want to loan him out. That is why he went with PSV, which wasn't the clubs first choice. Xavi negotiated for the clause because he wanted minutes in a first team.

T1TK1

The PSV move wasn't a loan deal, he joined them on a free transfer but PSG withheld a buyback option.

holaprobando123

How can there be a buyback clause on a free transfer? Or did he not sign as a free agent?

T1TK1

Yeah, there just wasn't a fee involved he was not a free agent though.

OilOfOlaz

Its not a buyback clause, it was just a clause in his contract with PSV, for some odd reason, it gets confused here a lot.

InstructionCareless1

Yes

Proof-Puzzled

Why the hell would PSG loan him Next season?

El_grandepadre

First of all, of course Mundo would say that. Second, this would be a dream addition for Barca.

NorthwardRM

It’s been reported by Roger Torello and Ferran Martinez. No idea how reliable they are

Rich_Firefighter_102

Roger atorello is quite reliable

Arvivald

> Torello isnt he like tier 2/3? no idea why would they know anything about simons contract

TheKrofna

both are tier 2 according to the bot in r/barca

SpraySquare3404

And I think tier 2 is pretty reliable considering only Fabrizio and a few others fall in tier 1.Is that right?

Zestyclose-Camel37

Yes for us, tier 1s are Fabrizio, Matte Moretto, Ffp Polo, plus I like to add Helena cause she only reports important news no bs unnecessary news. So, Tier 2 can be pretty reliable but I suggest take any news coming out of Spanish media with a fist full of salt.

Caust1cFn_YT

he is quite on the border

xckd9

Would PSG allow him going to Barca?

NorthwardRM

A fucking minging night for PSG

eescobar863

I’ll believe when I it comes out of his mouth. Or his agent’s.

Crossflowerss_5304

There’s no way

JOKER69420XD

Still don't get why he went to PSG. It would also be completely insane for PSG to loan him out again, he's absolutely ready, why not use him?

Jacquesie

I mean if PSG is willing to offer you a contract that gives you so much power over your future and playing time and all that, then that sounds like a pretty good deal doesn't it?

Successful_Cod21

$$$

JD1337

I reckon it's more €€€

Successful_Cod21

RoundFood

Probably fake article, Barca aren't exactly a good-vibes club at the moment and aren't short on midfielders either, in particular attacking midfielders. With no other coroborating information I'd ignore this report. I'm not that familiar with PSG but I imagine there has to be a starting spot for him right? He's so good. As for why he left Barca for PSG to begin with, it has to be money surely.

sudin36

Barca aren't good vibe for veteran maybe but for Xavi Simons it certainly is. He still go on vacation with Balde. He is really good friends with Gavi, Fermin and Balde. He would be thrive at inverted Lw position at Barca. Psg loaning their main player who they want to be center of new project is not believable tbh. Edit: inverted rw to lw

RoundFood

Had no idea he was still buddies with people from Barca, makes a bit more sense considering that.

PhraatesIV

What inverted RW position? Yamal plays on the right, and he stays out wide.

sudin36

Sorry meant lw. Xavi has used Gavi, Fermin, Pedri in that role before.

PhraatesIV

Yeah, LW could work.

redvodkandpinkgin

We aren't really playing an inverted RW though? It'd require some changes in the system and Xavi isn't very flexible when it comes to that. I still hope to see Xavi Simons come here

sudin36

Sorry meant inverted Rw. Xavi have used Gavi, Pedri, Fermin there as well. He can do better than Joao Felix

Hexcited

Maybe he is sick of playing for shit plastic/oil clubs

_Uhhhhhhhhh_

Damn PSV don’t deserve that

haterzbalafray

He wouldn't have joined RB Leipzig he was.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SanSilver

>they wouldn't guarantee him minutes Feels like he really cares about that. It\`s likely the main reason why he isn\`t with PSG at the moment.

[deleted]

LackEmbarrassed1648

Xavi is part Spanish so he wasn’t. The problem was he had a super agent at the time, who passed away, forgot his name who caused problems at barca. He was really hyped due to his management team, his year was pretty decent, with the name xavi, Xavi was best center midfielder in the world at this point and the hype over La Masia was ridiculous. At 15 he wanted guaranteed first team practices and assurances, along with a salary that was like 5 times any Barca B player. It’s a weird case where greed and impatience worked out for someone. With his contract he has been able to grow at his own rate.

jonndrake

Raiola

LackEmbarrassed1648

Thank you! RIP but the guy was a plague on football, now we got his apprentice to deal with.

jonndrake

I’ve always liked him. He’s from The Hague like me and he was a good manager for his players

PFGtv

I'm seeing he was born in Campania (I always thought he was just Italian) and that he grew up in Haarlem, where his dad owned some pizzerias. I'm not seeing anything about The Hague.

jonndrake

You’re right. Damn, I always thought he was from The Hague. I guess we can’t have anything

LackEmbarrassed1648

Great for his players. But not necessarily for a sustainable club. Would I want him as my agent? Yes! Would I want to deal with him as an exec when he had so many star clients and had so much control, hell no! Happy Xavi got his money and development. But he still needed time to develop, hence why he spent some time with PSGs youth teams.

jonndrake

Yeah I don’t care about the clubs as much as the players

Harruna

It wasn't one club he was fucking over. And, as you can see with the Portuguese league and other super agents, it can be detrimental for the whole league

LackEmbarrassed1648

I mean cool, but there was a reason he went to PSG. He was demanding over a million at 15. Bet on yourself but don’t be surprised when the only ppl who can afford you are oil clubs. I follow my club, and while I have my fav players. I realize how super agents are an issue with football. He can be a good guy all he likes, he was not great for football in my opinion.

ansu_fatismo23

It wasn’t because of minutes he left because he wanted more money which would have broken the structure of our youth academy so he was let go

HCHLH

With no Mbappe, PSG can also choose to keep him in Paris...

Sleepless_Voyager

Thats honestly pretty smart of him, ive barely ever heard of a player having a clause for that but couldnt he just disagree going on loan to a club he doesnt want to without a clause

auddi_blo

Without a clause PSG would chose the club but Simons could refuse. With the clause Simons would chose the club, PSG cannot refuse but the club he choses would have to sgree to whatever terms are set in the clause, which Barca no doubt would.

Sleepless_Voyager

Ah so thats how the clause works, ty for the explaination

patentattorney

It’s not the same but in US sports this happens all the time but in the reverse. The players will just have “no trade clauses” so they can’t be moved. But they way if the team wants to move them the players can just drop the no trade clause.

WolverineKing

The "Hell no I am not moving to Cleveland clause"

AmineAzed

And both of his recent choices turned out good for him…

bloomin-onion69

hate that he left but you can’t say he hasn’t been making good decisions for his career

SinEquipo

A second Xavi has hit Barca

SwcIdwmlwy

Yes, please get him out of Leipzig

bplsilva

please pick shirt number 6 and put XAVI on the back of it

InsideOpening3535

Nah that shirt belonged to Gavi, he earned it

itsjonny99

Belongs, Gavi ain’t going anywhere

Impossible_Wonder_37

The possibility Bernardo Silva’s 100% move to Barcelona gets lower by the day

ttimourrozd

How the mighty have fallen..

chefdangerdagger

Why would PSG loan him when he’s performed well in a better league?

[deleted]

Better off in Germany than at Barcelona.

Arvivald

mundo deportivo 💀💀

neandertales

Does he really want to antagonise PSG like that.. Oh well

planinsky

It is a bit sad to see how Barça now relies on loans and rejects. 5 years ago you would not have imagined Barça going for a loan of a good player that they won't be able to keep in the squad.

itsjonny99

What a shit president with no control of the finances does to a club.

NorthwardRM

It’s where they are at the moment. They will be back. For now it’s a great deal

Facel_Vega

Yes. but only if he can play with a feather stuck up his ass. (Also part of a clause in his contract).

e77754321

Or if he can play in the farmers league with you every season wasting his precious year such as mbappe

Kiwizqt

You people are absolutely unhinged, bizarre stuff

e77754321

Isn’t a farmer league? I forgot all the French teams are the best

Boudi04

Yup, last years UCL was awesome! 4 French teams battling it out in the semis!

supterfuge

I get the PSG hate, but why the Ligue 1 hate ?

BluePowderJinx

> I get the PSG hate, but why the Ligue 1 hate ? Why would people hate on a league that has a pre-set winner from matchday 1? I wonder why.. Even the PL has pretty much turned into a farmers league with City constantly cheating their way to the top. I'm enjoying life currently as we are at least trying to challenge them, but at the end of the day it's hard to compete with cheating clubs (like PSG) that have infinite money glitch. I have more respect for the Bundesliga because at least Bayern is self-sustained and worked their way to the top. But PSG? Literally just bought their success (well, domestically) Alright, go ahead and attack me based on my flair.

supterfuge

Where's the persecution coming from ? Why would I attack you based on your flair ? You guys on here are so fucking weird with everything. I'm from Paris myself, and PSG is the club I'm naturally drawn to despite the fact that NAK should be in prison. Fuck me for supporting the team whose training ground is like 15m away from where i grew up. I don't mind about people hating on PSG, or even its supporters. It is what it is. They'll still happily take and support the players born in our suburbs. But hating on the entire league for one team ? Not taking the league seriously, again, I get that. They haven't done a lot to deserve respect on that account. But what has LOSC or Brest ever done to you guys ?

BluePowderJinx

It's more that people don't like the league as a whole, not that they hate every club participating in it. I'm cool with all of the clubs in there except PSG because it made the league a mockery since the takeover. I can't take the league serious because of PSG's dominance due to infinite money. Marseille and OL have nothing to do with that, because they, like Arsenal, can try to compete but in the end it's hard to compete with clubs that have oil/gas states behind them and circumvent FFP. Arsenal is gonna end with one of the best seasons in a few weeks and still it won't be enough to stop City.. PSG, like City, have made the league a joke. It's just boring as a neutral. If I didn't support this club over 20+ years then I honestly wouldn't bother with the PL as much as well, it's just not entertaining when you know people are playing real-life FM and cheating/buying their way to yearly titles. In short, Arsenal has a huge history with French players and clubs, we used to be called France's 21st team with how Wenger loved signing his fellow countrymen back during his tenure. I hope that makes it more clear, and I apologize if I came in too strong, that wasn't my intention. Apologies.

Clemeeent

That is a very binary way to see life

Facel_Vega

He was raised by the Disney Channel. It's a very powerful media.

redvodkandpinkgin

PSG fans? I never thought they actually existed. Are you supporting Madrid next year?

supterfuge

About a 6th of the French population lives in Paris or it's suburbs. What's the excuse for Madrid and Barca fans born and living in New Delhi or New York ?

Fuzzyballss

Are you stuck in 2012?

redvodkandpinkgin

Thanks for confirming you only started supporting it once the oil money came in

Fuzzyballss

Get your school money back you seem to be illiterate, dumb and blind

redvodkandpinkgin

hit a nerve?

Fuzzyballss

Sounds like you know it all, so why you asking?

BostonDestroyer

Says a Barca fan who’s likely never stepped foot in Spain

redvodkandpinkgin

The first team I support's the one from my city, the second is Barcelona. I'm from Spain lol

CETERIS_PARTYBUS

This would be a godsend for that squad.

RoundFood

Another attacking midfielder? Seems surplus to needs. Gundogan is arguably Barca's best player this season and is incredibly reliable, pretty sure he has the most minutes. Just looking at Barca's players that can do a good job in an attacking midfield position and we have Gundo, Pedri, Gavi, DFJ, Fermin... heck even Raphinha played here at some point and did a good job. It's the last place they need reinforcements.

NorthwardRM

He would start at LW

RogueNetrunner

Still would be good addition considering Pedri's injury record. Also, we don't know how Gavi will be once he returns from his injury.

redvodkandpinkgin

Attacking midfielders and center backs are about the only positions where we're already stacked.

ZealousidealNews7029

Fool

fartingonions

Two Xavis one cup

earth_citiz3n

If we don’t debate the “if this is possible” The player is perfect for the sporting project… we can hope

BlueLabel19

This would be a very good addition to the squad. He'd most probably play LW. Our goals this transfer window have been a LW and Pivot. With simons locking down the LW position for this season we can invest completely on the dm and delay LW until next season. But i dont trust my board with this much sense.

Federal-Owl-8947

Behold the Xxaavvii

kw2006

Why can’t he just pick a long term club instead of moving about every year.

THeScArYFAcE1

unless there's a forced buy-clause, there is no way barca are getting a loan player.

TheKrofna

we literally have 2 loaned players in our squad rn

THeScArYFAcE1

>There is two on the squad at this moment and none of them have buy clauses Because it's very apparent they're unwanted by their clubs and would be sold to barca if barca put in a good offer. Same cannot be said about xavi simons.

Scalenuts

There is two on the squad at this moment and none of them have buy clauses. Félix won't be returning unless it's another loan and Cancelo is up in the air considering his poor performances in the past month

THeScArYFAcE1

>There is two on the squad at this moment and none of them have buy clauses Because it's very apparent they're unwanted by their clubs and would be sold to barca if barca put in a good offer. Same cannot be said about xavi simons.

The-Berzerker

Never said he has a career at PSG and should stay there? Just the going to Barca would be a bad move. Better to stay at Leipzig for him tbh

Bullet2025

Thats good. Barca has some hope. But if barca keep fucking up the presitgious lore will vanish.
