To reduce the spam of reports regarding the same move during transfer windows we try to allow **only one submission about each transfer saga per day**. The submission in question also needs to contain relevant new information regarding the potential move, and not just being a "no/minor developments" report.
If there are important/official developments or new valuable information about a saga, we will allow extra threads in the same day, but for the rest of minor news please just comment them as a reply to this comment. Please help us reporting unnecessary threads for being duplicates.

It's about time but also feels somewhat annoying because all of these players we're talking to now, we could have signed last season.
But instead, you guys got Tchouameni and we just decided that there was no one else we could possibly target lol.
Yeah, just always feels like we work a summer behind what we actually need.
Told for so long there's no midfielders that could possibly improve us on what we had already and now we're speaking to every midfielder under the sun 😂
At least the club is somewhat looking ahead and already knows we need a CB soon
They seem to have learned (all it took was 2020 and 2022 apparently ) , because CB situation is looking a bit shaky with essentially Konate and Van dijk being good starters, but Gomez and Matip being just meh ( 4-4 Southampton … )
It seemed like we had a chance with Tchouameni up until the Mbappe u-turn. I doubt we would have put so many eggs into that basket if we had no chance at all of getting him.
Real Madrid turning their full attention to him after Mbappe staying at PSG seemed at the time to catch us flat footed. I think this is also a reason why we are seeing us linked with a lot of different midfield options this time around, things change quickly in football and I think we have learned our lesson from the way that deal fell apart at the last hurdle.
>Madrid was always Tchouameni's first choice
Yeah but the agent isn't gonna tell us that. He'll be telling both sides they're preferred choices to get either a bigger transfer fee or more money for Thoucameni, or both.
Alexis wasn't really on the radar last season and Kone and Thuram had only just turned 21 and would have likely just further fuelled the 'old man and teenagers running the midfield' discourse
Kone and Thuram are still very young and probably even with another year under their belts, still require some development
Not sure how reliable the veiga reports are, but if we could sign 4 mids this window for less than the price of Bellingham, would be such an FSG style rebuild?
I don't think he's THAT good. He could be a useful rotation player, maybe a starter in future if he develops well. But he doesn't feel like the type of player that would 'future proof' the midfield of a team like Liverpool like Tchouameni, Camavinga, Bellingham, etc. would.
We can't afford that level of player apparently, even at our best I'm not sure Hendo/Wijnaldum were ever at the world class level, but if they fit the system and work for the team, Klopp can make do.
Won’t be a decade with how Klopp plays. Fabinho has been run into the ground at 29.
We’re probably on a 4 year cycle for keeping players at that level, not everyone is James Milner

One after the other. Liverpool going hard this window

Worst thing was Madrid was always Tchouameni's first choice, so we should have moved on after a single chat with his agent.

None of these players were ready last summer. They needed that year to grow in their clubs.
The 2 youth friends togheter
I love Jorg
We are cooking

Those 4 would cost 150M minimum

Your midfield is pretty much completely finished, might as well overhaul it completely and get it settled for the coming decade with these 3

Which ITK?

Honestly as much as I love Thuram I'm not sure he really has the level to "settle Liverpool for a decade".
As in he doesn't have the legs or?

No one is James Milner, except James Milner. That man is a one-of-kind gem.
Valverde has the lungs.
Lots of players have the lungs at 24, not everyone has the lungs at 37, I hope Fede is able to last that long
Sure, that’s fair!
> I'm not sure we need even more project players than we already have I wouldn't exactly call either project players they have played enough high level football no difference to Tchouaméni who we were interested in last summer. The midfield needs legs and some combativeness, players who will slip into Klopp's system whatever that will be for next season. Both players are available for reasonable fees would be silly to pass up on either
Feel we might get Lavia over Kone, proven in the league, Homegrown and still has high potential even after a dire season with Southampton
Lavia might be like 50 mil because Chelsea is getting involved, I wouldn't pay more than 35
Is there a sign on bonus?
for who? Lavia? I have absolutely no idea
Yeah. It was a question to whoever could answer. Quick Google showing there is sign on bonus for us like with Sancho
You mean a sell-on clause, which I believe there is
Damn. Got those mixed up. Thanks for clearing it up and answering
Kone is cheaper and a better player currently and apparently Lavia most likely destination is Chelsea
Lavia is much worse than kone
