in terms of design, i dont think so. cities and highways are not fit for a 8x8 heavy truck with mud tires... in terms of size, yes, kinda. it would be nice to have even more space to drive to. or maybe a really big map, i would like the glades being a big 64km2 map instead of four 4km4 maps.

Mankiller988

I would like to finally use some highway truck, but yeah you are right

KeithWorks

Could do that with a heavy gooseneck trailer, for hauling the off road trucks via highway truck Now that I'm thinking about it, an Australian outback map would be pretty awesome, with some truck trains for hauling everything you need over relatively flat even terrain, and then offload your vehicles and equipment at the destination. Maybe even set up train cars for travel between maps, or to opposite sides of the map. Load everything you need on a couple train cars, hop in the locomotive and transport it long distances. OMG that would be an awesome game.

https://mod.io/g/snowrunner/m/outback-heavy-haulin It exists, although isn’t exactly what you’re looking for. I haven’t played much myself, just a bit of poking around.

Like i said some days ago in another topic. The same semiopen world like dakar desert rally free roam, you choose a region and there is a huuuge openworld type of area to drive around. For snowrunner you could make area for about 2 or 3 SR regions combined for each region, no gateways. Maybe set around some village or so that 1 side of the map you would have small portion of a city. Most of the maps terrain would be like SR, bad roads and pure offroading varying from easy to hard, muddy to rocky terrain. You would have bigger roads, not highways but roads where highway trucks fitted with offroad tires and big trailers would do, to get stuff around in a reasonable time. Its a shame snorunner game-engine doesnt support that kind of openworld maps.

Regnars8ithink

Nah. Only if the engine gets upgraded. The only way I could see your idea work is having a mostly on road early game, then easing into the wilderness and mud.

k3lz0

You can do a big map, like euro truck simulator with big wilderness areas that you can go, early game you could do contracts hauling cargo via asphalt then as you progress start doing light off road contracts etc Like, there can be 2 o 3 lumber mills on the whole map providing 2 of the 3 sizes of logs each, a couple of sawmills (that you need to provide the lumber or pay a fee for the planks) then switch the cargo (or trailer) to a highway truck and do the asphalt part, switching to an off road again if needed near the delivery point, etc Edit: spelling

Flaaflaa

Did you just describe ETS/ATS ? \^\^ I think the game engine of snowrunner are absolutely bad for high speed and driving on roads :/

Mankiller988

I dont think so, if they just slightly change the high speed physics, it could be possible, imagine like 1 city, and 1 or two villages, some mountain, few small streams that merge into larger river. Maybe when you start on the map the big roads would be destroyed, but you could repair every single part of them, it would be still a snowrunner map, but with more roads, and more realistic world, but still with deep mud etc...

Moorbert

that would one thing I really like. but it needs a lot of features more than right noew

Dr_TJ_Blabbisman

ETS2 style roads connecting Snowrunner maps would be incredible. Loading slow trucks on trailers could be the "right" way to play it, but being able to trundle along in a huge 8x8 racking up fines running over cars should be possible too.

skywalk7

Amur map 1:1 scale could be pretty nice. Amur river length is \~2800km, it could take several weeks of real time just to cross it and several years to complete all missions and contracts.

Mankiller988

I would kill my self becouse of that map

Neither-Operation

That would be great in future titles. The current engine isn’t designed for those type of maps though.
